really that's not just a TSA Precheck thing anymore?

that's nice.
Funny story, the last time I went to Chicago the TSA agent was like "pssst, c'mere, what if I bypassed you for everything like it was pre-check, free trial but cancel in two weeks or I charge you...." So hubby and I were interested a bit and then got to the sign up part and I use his phone number so it didn't work out and then the next day it was announced that taking your shoes off was no longer a thing. Both of us looked at it each other and said "THAT'S WHY HE OFFERED IT!" Hoping we'd forget it and let it keep charging us.

Have any of you brought your electric toothbrush through airport security, and there WASN’T an issue with it?

If it’s a lithium/rechargeable battery you’re actually supposed to bring it with you in your carry on since those batteries can pose a fire risk in your checked bag.

If it makes you feel more confident, I flew a couple days ago with a rechargeable vibrator in my personal bag with no issues. Funny enough, I did have my carry on hand checked, and it was because I had a very thick/dense book hahaha. Took the TSA agent two seconds to look at it and then let me go about my day.

I know you don't feel you need it, but rest assured if you do want it in your carryon it's totally fine to have a laptop. They just ask you take it out of your bag during the security check conveyor belt thingo.

Maybe it’s because they totally revamped the airport security at the airport I fly out of, but they didn’t even make me take my laptop out of my bag. I always bring my laptop with me in my backpack since I don’t trust the baggage handlers not to manhandle my luggage and destroy my laptop if I check it. Never once had issues bringing it with me through airport security.

Regular shoes are fine, but they will make you remove boots.

Someone is messaging me from different accounts on CB and SC to ask if I will 'block people for fetishes' because they 'saw it on my x and my reddit'. I don't have a reddit anymore and never had an X, so I'm sure they're messing with me...but if anyone sees me on X or reddit...that ain't me. Very odd if real.

Are you reporting those messages? There are so many hustles playing out that I've just been playing it cautious and reporting anything like that. But also aware that if it's tying up Support's resources looking into these reports, it's taking away from legit account matters, so some feedback from the sites would be helpful on those reports.....

Does anyone have any tips for removing cat urine smell from sheets/linens/mattresses?

Pretty sure my cat sitter closed the door to the bathroom where my cat’s litter box is, because one or both of them went to the bathroom all over my bedroom, including on the bed. My cats have NEVER gone outside the litter box. Even when I was out of town for two weeks earlier this year. But that time, I had a friend who lived in my apartment building at the time watch them. So, I think this cat sitter either shut the door so they couldn’t access the litter box or she didn’t clean the box until the day before I came back into town.

I tried washing all my sheets and comforter with vinegar in the washer. I tried Lysol, a vinegar and water mix, and baking soda on my mattress. The smell won’t go away. I’ve already bought new sheets, which won’t be here until tomorrow, I also bought a heavy duty enzyme cleaner, but that also won’t be here until tomorrow. The smell is unbearable and I need to do something to make it tolerable until I get everything tomorrow.

  • Sorry to hear that.

Usually a good wash or two will remove the smell for me so I can’t help you there, but also do you have pheromone diffusers for when you’re away?

I use them while I’m away from home for an extended period and they did stop any anxious spraying/peeing around the house.

Unfortunately in my experience, you can never completely get rid of the smell if it gets deep into items like carpet, mattress etc. Even the enzyme-based cleaners (I used Urine-Off) have a distinct residual smell, and it increases with changes in humidity levels. Got to the point where I couldn't really distinguish the difference between the smell of the enzyme cleaner and fresh cat pee......
I once sold a car because a cat had got in it when the door was left open, and peed on the back seat - I removed the seat and upholstery, deep-cleaned the lot, but the smell always returned during warm weather and I suspected it was trapped within the seat base foam (I did disclose that to the new buyer, but they weren't concerned because it was just going to be used as a boat tow vehicle).
I found that once a cat has peed somewhere else, it seems to reoccur even when their usual option is available - clean and accessible - it's like they retain the memory of using that new spot, and if you have more than one male cat, they often compete to have the strongest scent.
Hope your experience is more positive than mine, but just passing on what I've found over the years. Also some newer products may exist now that are more effective?
Good Luck! :h:
