A few basic questions about deleting content pirated from public streams and private shows

Hello, new to this forum. I've been reading threads related to DMCA takedown requests, Google link delisting requests, and the overall problem of getting rid of content once it's "out there" on the web in places you don't want it to be. I am trying to help out someone who, because of her location (and language challenges) can't easily access everything, even with a VPN. Anyway, she plans to leave the industry in the next six months or so and wants to do several things: Removing pirated stuff on sites like "Leaked Cams", "Camwhores," etc.; request Google or other search engines to de-listing results, and get stuff taken down from the sites that scrape streams from CB. I've read a lot of posts here, some old and some more recent. I know it may be impossible for her to find and eliminate everything.

A couple of questions for those who have experience with trying to remove content and/or search engine results:

- I've see a few companies recommended to do the work for you. The highest recommended seem to be BranditScan and Rulta. Does anyone have recent experience with either? I know they are subscriptions and I found prices from a few years ago but nothing recent. Any idea about current costs? Or any general thoughts about these or other firms?

- A poster here mentioned that DCMA is a US law and that some of the shadier sites are hosted in countries (or by host companies) that don't have to comply or won't. Has anyone had experience with sites ignoring requests for takedown of copyrighted and/or sexual, private content?

I'm so sorry your friend is going through this. I have had the same problem just recently when a site pirated my personal videos and I used SC DMCA to take down the content. The site did comply but later re-uploaded the content so I used Brandit scan in conjuntion with reporting directly to Google's DMCA to have the entire site removed from Google search and the site was taken down imediately. Try reporting directly to Google because they dont mess around! I guarentee the illegal infringement site will be destroyed by Google directly! That worked for me.

The entire site removed? I'm so confused, what happened? You only reported the specific url your content was found right? I mean it's hard to guess these days because I've seen Google remove super important pages because they paid 0 attention to the dmca reports.

Personally I dont recommend having google de-list the pages with a dmca, all it does is move all the links to a brand new page that says all the links that you requested to be removed removed so actually makes them easier to find imo since they link to that document on every page of the results and it's literally a list of where all your pirated content is.

If you make content then imo you are better off just pumping out content which generally overtakes it all in the google results, the goal is to get the pirate content so far back in the google results that no one is going to click through enough of them to find it.

Some might disagree with this but personally I think DMCA services are largly a scam, if you are super busy then it can make sense to use them rather than doing it yourself to track down the links, but again if they remove anything from google they are actually just making it easier for people to find which defeats the entire purpose since most of these sites wont comply with a dmca takedown request so a google delist is the best they will be able to do in most cases.

Yeah I have a very strict "out of sight, out of mind" policy. I don't go looking for it and I don't acknowledge it if someone brings it up in chat.
