Right?! SMFH…

Too many viewers thinking its easy, too many models accepting less in the pool, a lot of different things I think. Everything is more fast paced, and it's harder to sell people on the value of it. I think a lot of my returning customers that pay more are the types that make masturbation an actual event. I feel masturbation has become more of something you get out of the way and quickly rather than making it this amazing event nowadays. I think the quicker access, the wider availability and all that stuff has really ruined masturbation for a lot of people. Even the hardcore gooners of today's internet are more interested in quantity over quality it seems.

Perhaps its the act of masturbation itself that is more saturated now.

And it's across all sites and all ages of models. This weekend just really irritated me. Hundreds of usernames that just never interact at all. Why have an account at all then? Just stay anonymous.

I feel the same way, and that's similar to my experience on MFC these past few nights. I'm at the end of my rope with this shit. Members not wanting to interact. Why not just visit my room in guest mode then? Why bother logging into your premium account if you're not gonna talk or tip? I don't want to see you camping out in my room, or hiding in the PM Viewer to watch me if you won't even respond to my hellos or tip. Members sitting in my room with their hundreds of tokens visible, and not responding to my greetings at all. I just kicked out a member who was camped out in my free chat while his token amount was going down before my eyes (meaning he was tipping some other model while camped out in my room ignoring me).

Dude last night typed in the chat "I did say hi to you bb. I PMed you." (My PMs are set to "friends" only, so I didn't get it). Um...why are you (a member who's never interacted with me or tipped me) entering my free chat and immediately trying to PM me???

I earned 73 tokens on Saturday night, and then 27 tokens last night. I'm currently 78 tokens away from making the minimum for payout (400 tokens/$20). The 1 token tips happen way more frequently these days. Men with short attention spans who say "brb" because they want to room hop, and I guess go visit other models who are in the middle of a cum show.

Members acting like models are supposed to be live 24/7, and then when we do go live they're whining "I missed you. Where you been?" Um...recovering from my day job (relaxing a few hours after I get home before it's time to go to bed again), and having a personal life outside of cam. That's where tf I've been.

Got dressed up so pretty a few weeks ago to do a pre-birthday live stream for a few hours (wore a birthday hat, birthday sash, "Birthday Babe" pin, pink birthday decor on the wall, birthday themed tip menu, birthday playlist I'd created on YouTube)...for one person...maybe two people...to type a dry "happy birthday" into the chat, and I got a grand total of 44 tokens that night. The few familiar members who did visit me didn't even acknowledge my birthday at all, even though it was obvious from what I was wearing and my room decor that I was celebrating my birthday. That was very disappointing and upsetting.

Oh man the birthday stuff really gets to me. I stopped putting any kind of effort into it. The more I get dressed up and try to do a party theme, the less I make. Of course then people are like why didn't you do anything special?

I feel like it's a constant game of opposites. Whatever I'm doing they want the opposite. It's exhausting.

Sorry tried to heart react but my phone glitched 🫣 i often struggle to understand how much and how fast things changed from when i started 21 years ago to now… im sorry to see ppl feeling as sad about todays state of cam. It just feels different ☹️

Firstly, very sorry about this situation. Sounds like it really sucks.

Personally, I hadn’t considered the “shortened attention span” aspect, but I bet that’s part of it. I always considered the appeal of cam sites over general, pre-recorded porn to be the interactivity. There’s a social element to it. That can take time, because you’re not just looking for a model you’re attracted to, but one you enjoy interacting with. I’m sure a lot of people aren’t wired for that kind of effort these days.

But then that doesn’t explain or excuse a member hanging out in a model’s room quietly for extended periods and not tipping. Clearly they have the time.

Members not wanting to interact. Why not just visit my room in guest mode then? Why bother logging into your premium account if you're not gonna talk or tip? Just curious, did this issue get worse over the past couple years? I ask because I live in a state where I can no longer visit any cam site anonymously. I either have to submit to this super-sketchy third party ID process, or sign in on my CB account (they consider that proof of my age since CB has my info on file already).

I wouldn’t be surprised if people are lurking more often while signed in because they no longer have an easy way to do it anonymously.

OF going mainstream was probably the worst thing to ever happen. Or I'm just bitter about how uneven it all is. It's hard to tell myself to make content most days. Take a thousand pics and then delete them all.

I'm typing this as I'm watching Secret Lives of Suburban Wives and every single one of them regrets getting into OF. It's like what did you honestly expect was going to happen when you're an active member of your community at large? (Stuff like being kicked out gyms, not being invited to events at school or outright barred from attending.)

Agreed. I think there still is nearly the same level of hate against everything sw/adult entertainment but with less money (i do know quite a few models that still make good money but for most there has been a decline)

and OF? Hell i hate content. Did burn me out after years and years of trying for creative stuff. And with all the limitations we have these days it feels boring. I always have been looking forwards to my grinch-xmas set but with the fucking thin line that is inspiration/caricature vs copyright nowadays? I dont think i will continue with it.

I will not leave but yeah, some days are just too hard.

I'm afraid to wear lipstick or dye my hair because of the posts I see here about bans. I can't afford to take that kind of hit waiting out a ban. And you're right that it seems boring because we can't do fun things for holidays.

People were getting banned for carving pumpkins live last Halloween....because they used a knife. I haven't seen a cooking show in almost two years and those were always interesting and fun.

Some of these restrictions have forced people into doing things that were originally hard no's. Like threesomes or partner swaps. It's hard to watch them bend their boundaries to keep the income.

The whole internet is getting crazy! Every few months there is like another average word that people spell differently or bleep out because they are scared of a ban. Its like your watching a fucking crime show and they are beeping out the word "homicide", or now you can't call Trump a pedo, its "PEE-THREE-DE-OH" now like wtf. "Knife" will be next.

It's absolutely batshit crazy. I like to read factoids and infographics about historical stuff while I'm working. Clicked on one the other day and words like die and murder were swapped out and they were impossible to read.

It's the internet. If it offends you, close the damn tab. 🤬🤬🤬

And Twitter STILL is not age restricted even though it has more porn than porn hub!

Censorship is a cheap way to appeal to voters concerned about children. No one wants to educate their damn children these days.

I hate the word replacement shit people do, like I get that some platforms demonetize for the word, but outside of those platforms it's like people saying chat when there is no chat... Some people might jerk it to corn but imo if your old enough to watch porn your old enough to say the damn word.

The word replacement stuff is like the THC-A of the legal marijuana world. Like come on, we know what it is, just let it through.
I can understand demonetizing if they where promoting bad things, but I feel like when it's over a word regardless of what the videos or articles are even about is just a result of platforms being lazy and cheap. They are just looking for keywords and not even looking at the context in which they are being used. You should be able to call a rapist a rapist and not be demonetized because you are not promoting it. We should be able to carve a pumpkin naked and not be banned because we used a knife the way knifes are meant to be used.

The other day there was a new room on CB, two European girls. They had the sound off and were playing music but I guess the goal was to scissor off their shirts one tip at a time so one of them had this giant set of shears in her hand. She kept making the psycho stabbing motion with them and about thirty minutes later they were gone and I haven't seen them since. I didn't catch the room name so I can't search to see if they got banned for it.

I haven't read every post here, but the few I read up top are so relatable! I've even gotten to the point on SM where I straight up spell it out to them "if you wanna lurk me and not spend, better do it from logged out, instead of being a dumb ass and getting yourself banned. Which WILL happen if you do it brazenly from your account!" Like I'm even telling them how to do it 🤦‍♀️ DERP. Sorry to make so much fun, but really? Have people always been this slow, are more people dipshits than ever before in history? Or is it just that it's becoming more obvious how many dipshits there's always been? Like what else can you do but laugh at this point ?

TLDR; What came first; the Dipshits, or the internet?😆

Yup! I've been putting in my room topic "Please TALK and/or TIP in my CHATroom." If I've politely greeted your ass two times and you continue to just sit there lurking like a creep in a white van, I'm kicking you out. And popping right back into my room to do the same thing all over again will get you banned. I'm so tired of being friendly and engaging with these people, but have nothing to show for it. Now if I were to go live and do nothing but sit there binge watching T.V. shows the whole time, instead of listening to music while caressing my skin/grinding (like I've been doing), then it'd be a problem. 🙄 Lol.

I think I realized today that the guys who are like this and don't tip or talk or anything at all are the same guys who think their relationships failed because they felt they were owed sex and didn't get it. Who wants to fuck a guy who thinks about HIS dick more than wanting a shared experience between two people who want each other?

I don't have the time to fully type out all my thoughts on this, and my brain fog from being a perimenopausal cam model make me act ADHD as all hell.... but a couple little notes:

the incredibly easy accessibility of all things porn these days has changed the way a LOT (not all) of people treat adult material now. It's literally everywhere on the Internet. "back in the ol' days" when things were tangible it was harder to come by and more VALUED because of it. People had to physically be in possession of a magazine, photo, VHS... hell even in the early DVD era it was still physical media. So while the Internet has made it easier to sell adult material, it's also diluted the market in a disturbing way.

current politics are making life harder for us as adult content creators, which is causing the free stuff to be popular (even aside from its accessibility) since there's no paywalls for it, which is affected by it. and as noted in the replies already, laws in certain regions are making it hard for people to watch/interact/tip on the sites where we DO actually get paid.

are both things making the visitors to our room interact differently? possibly... rather it's likely. I know that "sex will always sell" but it's unfortunate the way and the price that it's most conveniently sold at is deteriorating, and it's probably going to get worse in the near future.

all we can do is ask the people who support our work and care enough to understand our side of it to continue to do what they can, I guess.
