Hi all,

For the past couple of months I was developing an app that will help adult models extend their business to the mobile space.
The app suggests a tailored experience which makes it much more convenient to deliver content and complete transactions in mobile use-cases.

Being a member of this great community was very valuable through the process and as I'm getting to the important stage of collecting feedback, I'm sure this would be the perfect place to do so.

The app basic idea is very simple:
Take a photo -> pixelate selected parts -> set a price -> post it to your followers (as a private message or to your profile story).
Once completing the flow, your followers will get a notification suggesting the new content. The earnings are set according to the number of followers who "unlocked" your photos.
I believe there's a great value in delivering content in such an accessible and tangible manner.

Have a look and let me know what you think:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pixee-for-your-precious-moments/id1054740050?mt=8

Cheers!

Sorry I'm just giggling at camgilrs.

MPP (my porn profile) has a service where I can take pictures and they PAY me for each photo I post so why would I use an app where I have to put in my real life information or have it linked to anything from my real life. Especially when its NOT guaranteed I'll even see any money.

"The earnings are set according to the number of followers who "unlocked" your photos." - So if nobody unlocks the photo I don't get paid where MPP pays for you to tweet regardless of who looked at it.

I could also pixelate my own photo's easy and post my self w out using your service

I just built a new app called Camgrillers. All your favorite naked ladies sharing their favorite 'kabob recipes, marinades and steak rubs. Download it now for $99.99 on the crApp store. (Sorry, not yet available for Android)

Didn't look at the app since I don't have an Apple product... BUT, I'll give my opinion on how you fucked up right off the bat. You excluded 51% of the mobile market by only releasing it on the App Store (which holds 38% of the marketshare for mobile devices). On top of that, there is already an App on Google Play called Pixee... Good luck on your adventures, it's going to be a rough ride for you.

Thanks for your feedback!
I'll address the relevant stuff:
1. There will definitely be an Android version! We're completely aware of the huge importance it has.
We launched the service as an iPhone only in order to get traffic and improve the system, to better match both the model and the fans needs. That's exactly what the team is working on right now. An Android version will soon follow.

2.

Using Pixee doesn't only allow you to pixelate a photo, but also suggests a built-in mechanism for the viewer to depixelate and view the full photo (while paying for it of course).
The idea is to stimulate your fans by bringing them as close as possible to the content, and suggest a simple one-tap process of accessing it fully.
Because of this, the service makes a much better compensation than exists anywhere else (MPP or similar).

Your service is still not needed if you read my post above you didn't even address the bigger issue here (meaning there's already a service like this that actually pays girls regardless of if someone looks at there picture).. How would an app generate traffic? it's not a site where people can go to. So you would rely on models right? Yet your only paying models IF someone unlocks there photo. As I stated above which you did not mention is that MPP pays you to tweet and they pay every time you do so regardless if someone looks at the picture I post or not- I get paid. It also posts on my twitter so I get exposure using there simple pay per tweet thing. Theres no reason for any girl to use a service that MAY pay you when there's a service that pays you regardless already. Putting in information from an iphone or android phone (apps request location and other details) that many girls are not going to like.

msbiancabaker - priceless feedback, thank you!
Regarding MPP - the avg. payout per pic is 0.5$. As Pixee offers a more direct interaction with viewers, we simply double that amount.
Regarding traffic - we don't see it as a content discovery platform for viewers, but rather a tool for models to continue the interaction and monetize their fans offline. So the traffic should be originated by the model in her shows.
It's also important to mention that the app doesn't require location or any other private information whatsoever.

My reason for not being on board is simply that anyone who unlocks the pixels are now capable of taking a screenshot of the picture and then redistributing it anywhere and everywhere for their monetary gain.
You're right, we have no way to completely block the possibility of someone doing that. You will be notified in case someone has taken a screenshot of your photo and can block that user.
But isn't this risk exist using any other service as well (Tweeter, show sites etc.)? What would you suggest on doing?

If I want direct interaction I would use snapchat since most guys like to send pics as well. I wouldn't use a service that MAY pay me when a guy can purchase my snap ID for $19.99 a month (or whatever) and get pics all day. Also your only offering double WITH interaction no girl is going to talk to a guy for 10 cents or even 20 cents thats not enough for interaction.

I would be interested to hear how many girls have downloaded and used this app?

I understand where you're coming from, and I agree the idea is a decent one. However, like some of the other ladies said, Snapchat and Kik are already available and although fans are paying upfront for those apps, they are still paying. Not only that, they automatically have interaction without having to pay more, and those subscriptions can be renewed. I don't see the bonus of downloading a new app, convincing fans to do the same, and to pay per picture... It just doesn't seem worth it.

As a model who only offers photos to exclusive members highly priced, this wouldn't work out for me. Forgive me if I missed this, but can the photos be watermarked, or is it strictly photos only, no attached text? I would worry about having fake Instagram accounts made with all my pictures, or posted on 18+ accounts and given no credit.

How many unlocked pixels = $1?

Edit, saw your reply to Bianca about payout.

Bianca and Ariel, I think there's a slight confusion, please allow me to clarify.
Pixee offers two ways to send photos:
1) Private message to a specific user.
2) Posting it to the model's story where all your followers could see.
In both cases the photo is freely viewable, with a pixelation effect covers the only areas you mark.
The price for 'unlocking' the photo (=uncovering the pixelation) is set by you, ranging from 1-100 tokens. (1 token = $0.2)

We're not aiming to completely replace the current working models, there are plenty of them and some work better than others for different models.
Pixee's key benefits are as follows:
1. Offering a freemium model to consume content. This opens a new channel for fans who are more wary and increases conversion rate.
2. Better manage payment transactions. Where in SC or KiK you have to manage the flow of collecting payments yourself, using multiple services, using Pixee it's all done within a single app. (posting content, fans transactions and payment collection)

We're completely receptive to your feedback and might as well add a subscription model where paying a monthly fixed amount will allow your fans to unlock unlimited amount of photos from your story during that time period. This was already brought up before and makes total sense.
That way, you'll be able to enjoy the freemium model benefits, while still not interfere with your regular subscribed customers.

You can definitely attach text to every photo. Additionally, it would indeed be a great idea to automatically add the model's username as a watermark to every photo you post. We'll add that to our next version :)

Yes. It is very very hard to collect payment ourselves.

Downside of your app. It's an adult app. It seems it is one purpose. Nudies for pervs.

SC and Kik look completely innocuous on a dudes phone.

It's an adult app, but one that oddly went with a Blue Bunny Tweety Bird Ice Cream photo in the itunes link.

I don't really care since I'm not a fan of Blue Bunny anyway, but I am curious since I toyed with a similar idea a while back...is that allowed? Is there any chance of the Blue Bunny people sending out cease and desist letters?

Nah, Blue Bunny be chill. Now Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies gonna be suing their ass for sure.

Wouldn't surprise me. I know a local dev who made an 8-Ball app. Wasn't called "8-Ball" or anything like that but worked on the same core concept of shake the phone and get an 8-Ball style answer. Was making a couple grand per month off AdMob (I believe, could be some other in-app ad network) before receiving a cease and desist for that.

And hearing some initial feedback from said girls.

Another concern: Isn't Apple anti-adult apps? Android as well? Isn't that why MiKandy and I'm sure other adult app stores started up?

He never responded to that part of my question lol. I wonder why?

Don't ever use "Choose Your Own Adventure". I didn't realize that exact phrase was copyrighted, I just remembered it being really popular for EVERY kind of book back in the 90's, and made a Tumblr post advertising a cuckold clip I'd made four of - a "soft" GFE-style and a "hard" SPH-style, each shot with a white dildo and a second time with a black dildo, allowing the viewer to choose their experience.

Yeah, I got an email warning about copyright infringement and the post was deleted.

That is interesting. Never would have guessed that was copyrighted.

I remember reading some horror story about somebody getting sued for thousands for using some obscure picture on their blog. Guess you are lucky you just got a warning.

This is all the true.

I'm a huge fan of choice books, and I noticed early on, only one series used that phrase. "Pick a path" "Choose Your Way" have been regular substitutes.

Lol, I'm glad you're having fun playing with copyright questions concerning the app iTunes page.
Well we checked that specifically prior to releasing and it's totally fine (related to the fact it's a photo of a 'public domain' ice cream and not some kind of an artwork we've made). But I do appreciate your legal advice ;)

Pixee is not an adult app. Posting adult content is only one of the possible use-cases (obviously this thread focuses on that), other might be: selling photos to news sites, trading college assignments etc.
From our user research, we already know people are using it for that.

Bianca, I'll do my best answering all of your questions :)
As we're not looking into the posted content (and will never do so), it's hard to tell how many of the users are using it for trading adult photos professionally. I'm expecting an increase with that following this thread though ;)

But if your paying girls for posting pics (when people unlock this photo) then you must have knowledge of WHO you are paying... So you would know if there were girls using this. So I'm assuming the answer is 0.
