About a week ago I was doing a simple broadcast, just talking while waiting for my age verification. About five minutes in and 1,000 people watching, I was banned. I contacted support multiple times, got automated replies, and no help to the situation. I was told I was banned because I needed to age verify, then told I was banned for assumed breaking policy. After it was cleared up that I hadn't broken any policy they said to age verify again, yet I couldn't even access the page because they still had me on ban. Simply enough, I logged out, made a new account, and submitted more clear photos for age verification. And to no ones surprised.. got banned. For no reason. So of course I emailed support again, and was sent this:

I don't get it, why would they lead me on for days and not just be straight up with it? Is this even a real policy to enforce? It feels more like discrimination to me. Obviously if I can receive tokens I am age verified, so what would the issue even be, users will nit pick anything, so why take it out on me? It's like they're acting as if it's my fault for having a young face. Does this happen to anyone else, or am I just an unlucky one?

It happens incredibly often, and majority of us at ACF think it's a pretty ridiculous policy.

I'm really trying to understand the logic here. It seems as if Chaturbate has fostered a community of users who feel it's their duty to help Chaturbate "police" their website through the prolific use of the report button, based on nothing more than a gut feeling. If Chaturbate has done their due diligence through the registration and ID verification processes they use, and the model is approved and allowed to perform, why do they act against the model based on a report(s) that someone "feels" that she/he looks too young? 2257 requirements have been met, so is there some "legal" challenge going on behind the scenes that they are protecting themselves against?

Fair? Not really. However, I also get that chaturbate has a business and reputation to protect. Their verification process isn't exactly full proof. In addition, people visiting the site don't know nor care about it. If people think there's even a chance that some of the girls are under age, they may stop going to the site. I know I would. Completely sucks to get banned for that, but given the seriousness of under age porn, I don't blame them for not taking any chances either. I'd probably do the same thing if I were them.

Chaturbate's current policy not only leads to unfair bannings but actually maximises the chances of having underage performers. And creates more work for Chaturbate. And only adds to their terrible reputation. It's mind-boggling.

I don't know of anyone who had an easy-peasy verification with Chaturbate. Mine took days, dozens of photos of my ID, support telling me that my state valid ID isn't proof enough (lmfao, like what the fuck) before finally getting verified. In fact, I don't know what their verification process is, but the fact I'd submit an ID photo and get an email two seconds later telling me how it didn't work makes me think it isn't being verified by a human.

Then they ban over eighteen models who are verified? I don't see how this is them protecting their reputation. Ban people who break TOS by advertising as underage or being "lolitas", but banning people just doing their job is such bullshit. (I know for sure I saw models advertising themselves as "jailbait" and "barely legal" and that shit is more questionable than some young faced chick with all of her papers in order.)

This was my first post and also the reason how I found out about this forum.
I literally cried when my account was banned for looking young. You can't imagine how much work it was for me to get my documents in order, i'm not sure in some country but where I am at its very difficult especially coming from a province that a typhoon wiped out the whole town and it's record keeping. So when I finally got my passport and got age verified, you can't imagine how great that felt, only to be torn down by someone complaining I looked too young. But, to alot of people Chaturbate has a bad reputation but I love working there, and i was thought, you love something, you fight for it. So I researched and found this forum, then i message @punker barbie then I kept messaging support. Now, i got my account back i'm happy, there are other websites, but they have restriction and honestly a little more complicated for me. i did change a few things for me not to look young, but its awful feeling, but like any other job out there, you do what you must.

Exactly. I even mentioned that in my response, how if they are going to target those who look too young they should also be paying attention to the users that are promoting intercourse and sexual acts with little girls, since I see it happen often. Yesterday I saw a girl online that looked even younger than I do, like an actual child, and in my head I was just wondering why isn't their so-called policy working on her. It seems like a pick and choose discriminatory, completely unfair.

I'm pretty sure the problem is the Chaturbate isn't really a camsite. It's an ad-supported platform for people to show their junk to each other anonymously without age verification. In that context, the idea of relying heavily on the Report button and sending the same form letters over an over to the models they've banned makes sense. As does their fear of anyone looking underage, since some of the unverified exhibitionists likely are underage but happen not to look it.

If they'd never added tipping, or only allowed tokens to be re-tipped in-platform, the whole approach would make a lot more sense.

I did. I was verified in about 45 minutes after submitting my ID. It's not exactly inconceivable that someone has a fake ID and it's tougher to tell from a picture of an ID than it is physically inspecting it.

If they're getting complaints from their customers about girls being under rage, then clearly it is protecting their reputation. The verification process is only something the models and chaturbate care about. The customers aren't going to know much (if anything) about it. They go to the site, see "under age" girls, and leave (or complain). If I'm on a porn site and see what looks like an under age girl, I'd be closing that tab as quickly as I can. I'm not going to research their verification process and bother to figure out if they truly are legit. I wouldn't touch that site with a 10 ft pole. It's not worth the possibility of going to jail over.

It's simple risk vs reward. If there's even a slight chance that a model is under age, why would the owners of chaturbate risk their multi-million dollar business, their freedom, and ending up on a sex offender list to let her on? Even best case if the model is legit, if their customers think they're under age, they might lose customers. Models are not the customers, the tippers are. Ultimately, they answer to them. Worst case, even the allegation that chaturbate allows under age girls on there (even if not true) could be enough to tank them. Again, would I visit a site accused of having under age girls? Hell no. Not worth the risk.

The penalties and risk are simply way too high when it comes to under age porn to take any risk there. I don't blame them for erring on the side of caution. I would too if I were them. Chaturbate isn't exactly hurting for models, so what's the upside to it?

I know girls who worked 8 hours shifts on CB everyday for 6 months. Who were then banned under this reason, you are just one of thousands banned for looking young.

Try not to take it personally, and try and research a new site..

How does Chaturbates policy "maximise the chances of having underage performers"?

I actually asked Shirley about this policy and she stated all cam sites based in the US have the same policy (untrue). Never really got any actual reasoning for it.

Because they only require ID when they're paying their performers. There'd be nothing to stop a 15 year old from broadcasting on Chaturbate so long as they never tried to earn money from it. (unless I'm wrong about that. I kinda hope I am)
