So, I'm not a regular CB user but have been on and off the site for years. In recent months, I've been visiting CB a bit more and checking out some broadcasts and doing some privates, usually couples. I don't know if I'm just in a run of bad luck, but I've had several instances lately of being, well, ripped off. By this I mean, for example, someone saying that a 1500 token tip is required upfront to do something - and then the broadcasters don't do it. (Like, just blatantly). Or in another instance, entering a private and the couple engaging in some crazy delay tactics and other interruptions and saying they will be back in a minute - and eventually coming up with an excuse to end the private without actually having done much of anything. I even had one where a couple goofed around for a few minutes and then said, "Oh, there's a problem; she (female performer) says that sex is painful to her today, so she can't continue." These are almost always situations where some token minimum in involved, so you get hosed for 10 or 15 minutes of tokens no matter what.

I know this topic has come up in the past, and the usual answer has been along the lines of: If you start to have problems in a private session, since it's per minute, just exit the show and not much is lost. While that's true if there's no minimum, you can still lose some tokens on absolutely nothing if the gimmicks and delay tactics are clever enough to keep you waiting a bit. And if there's a minimum, you can lose even more.

And as far as tips go, the answer is always that they are always completely discretionary on CB and so if you tip for something, even if there was an agreement discussed in the chat, the site will always come back and say, "Sorry" and point to the policy.

Okay, I get it. I don't necessarily agree with this business model (which is why I prefer sites with more accountability. But that's obviously a user perspective).

But it seems like Chaturbate in particular has set everything up to benefit them over anyone - whether broadcasters or users. I am constantly seeing models complaining here that CB bans often and sometimes in an arbitrary way or with little evidence. Yet oddly, even with screenshots of chats or other supporting evidence, I can rarely ever get anywhere with CB Customer Support on the types of issues I described above. Their default seems to be to forward the issue to the broadcasters, who of course lie and deny, and that's the end of it.

Meanwhile, the thumbs up/thumbs down system is completely inadequate as a means of warning members. Unless the broadcaster has a huge number of downvotes, it's just not effective. And the feature can be turned off, anyway.

I guess this is more of a "vent" than anything else. What bothers me the most is that with a couple of the incidents I experienced during the last few months, it wasn't only that the scamming was blatant, it's that the broadcasters were totally brazen afterwards. Like, "Well, sorry, that's how it goes. Ha ha. You can take it up with the site. Good luck. Ha ha" Like seriously, they know that they can hose a member out of 1000, maybe 1500 tokens really easily, and while that might not be a lot in a one time deal, if they do if fairly frequently, it could be somewhat profitable. And it's enabled by the site, as they know exactly what the member can't successfully complain about.

I think the answer is that I need to stop visiting Chaturbate! (Or maybe I need to stop trying out Eastern European or Russian broadcasters, which seem to be where I've run into these incidents without exception on CB).

Has CB ever had a real review or rating system like StripChat or many other sites? If the site is going to disavow all responsibility for those kinds of tactics, at least provide some way for users to identify broadcasters that show a pattern. That's my two cents.

StripChat has a rating system. LiveJasmin has one. Those are big players, no? At least a few other sites I haven't visited much have them, like SecretFriends. Some allow written reviews; some only number of "stars." And CB has their "upvote/downvote" system.
And they are abused all the time and hated by models.

But someone must like them, or no sites would have them.
Yeah, the users who enjoy shitting on the models like them.

Anyway, done replying to you since I'm over your shit.

CB is very harsh on actions that threaten CB. Underage, undocumented, out in public, anything that violates US laws, etc. They are much less concerned about users' complaints concerning scams and failed agreements. You can complain to support, and they might have somenone look at it, but most of their effort is directed to protect the platform.

Yes, the playing field is tilted, it's tilted in favor of CB profits.

Glad he got banned. It's draining and rude to expect a bunch of attention and sympathy from people who don't do the problem behaviors, after people who do do the problem behaviors caused it. I get it it's bad, but at the same time if you dated someone and they kept making you suffer over stuff their ex did, that you never did, eventually most people would have enough and tell them to get over it/ go work on it with a therapist/ stop making so much exhausting drama over it. Sorry, not the best analogy, but I hope I'm making the point I'm trying to get across somewhat clear.

This isn't about us not sympathizing when bitches scam people; it's about us setting a boundary, saying "enough is enough," we didn't do this, and we don't want to pick up the pieces, because it's exhausting, and we aren't paid for this. It's about users not being entitled to do and say whatever they want on our off, unpaid time. We already deal with enough of that during our paid time. It's an inappropriate behavior for the context, showing a lack of respect, as well as a complete lack of consideration, manners, or contextual awareness.

I wouldn't go into a lawyer's meeting and start going on and on about the one crazy lawyer I got to know, and what a whack job he was, and how unethically he treated me, would I? And if I did, common sense would dictate that I would expect the rest of the lawyers there to find it irritating. Especially if I kept doing it over and over and over again, disrespecting any form of boundary they set. Or polite non-confrontational hint, like starting a food conversation!

Anyway, moving forward re; reviews. I think anyone who genuinely thinks reviews on mostly female cam models by mostly males, is a good idea, has their head up their ass when it comes to the sexism that women deal with all day, every day. Let me try to explain to the completely clueless and unaware that women are not allowed to say no, or many men freak out and lose their shit. If we calmly and flatly say no, often there is some form of grown man tantrum or repercussion. The only way we can often feel comfortable saying no is to say "Oh, I'm so sorry, I just can't do that right now, blah blah excuse/ explanation". Men are allowed to just say no to each other, without taking all that extra fake, exhausting energy and time to cushion and coddle it. Women can't. To feel safe, we often have to take a ton of energy out for the insecure male ego (which, let's make no bones about it, there are so, so, SO many of around) and cushion everything in the terms you'd use for a tantruming child. It's ridiculous.

Who's really sorry when they have to say no or set a boundary? Fucking no one. Especially a sexual boundary. Because they are doing what they need to for themselves, which is healthy! But society often punishes women anytime they put themself first, before others, yet it's totally acceptable for men to do so. Reviews would be abused, primarily by the male customers.

I've been on sites where reviews went both ways. Guess what happened; the male customers had the review option removed from the whole site because they couldn't handle the honesty. And they threw a collective massive tantrum about it.
It necessitated them to treat the cam workers as actual human beings, politely, and with respect.
Something a huge number of them could not/ would not do, yet they demanded respect and polite treatment back the other way.
And a giant number of them couldn't handle it.
Not all of them, but a huge chunk.

Novel over haha.
