I am a viewer first and foremost. OP -- a viewer -- raised a legitimate question and this thread was very quickly hijacked by models talking about their preferred ways of doing things and then misrepresenting the actual question that was asked.
If someone is going to make a significant time investment then they should know what they're actually getting into. That means doing their best to peel back the layers of often misinformation that viewers are often presented with. I'm not talking about finding out personal information about models, but, in this case, to at least understand if a model is streaming on 1 or 2 or 8 sites and how they deal with those interactions. Speaking from my own personal experience and from talking with other viewers, not knowing how things work behind the scenes can have long-term emotional costs because of exactly the kind of uncertainly that OP is expressing.
Addendum: Finding out how things work also includes, for example, determining if a model works for a studio or is independent and if they are communicating with viewers themselves or using operators. I don't have a problem with studios or operators per se, but not knowing often leads to grave misunderstandings.
