When CB brings in new anonymous users from affiliate programs where do they land them?

Unfortunately hard-programmed one-size-fits-all room ranking can result in a feedback loop with just a few rooms receiving the bulk of directs. It's not trivial to avoid this.

These days anyone and everyone including anons could be directed through personalized room ranking managed by AI which is trained to maximize signups, hold times, and spending. Users have attributes and history, rooms the same, and CB has ample data to train an LLM. I'm not saying they ARE doing it, but maybe they should. It wouldn't be perfect, but even a 1% match is better than 0.001%.

AI would organically sidestep the problems of thumb ratings by focusing on what really matters to CB - growth and profit. And allow models to focus less on thumbs and more on the experience they are creating, relying on AI to direct the appropriate audience. Imagine as a model laughing at an abusive user's thumb-down while you quietly ban them, because you don't show thumbs and they don't matter: "mmm mmm mmm - vent away @bigtightwad4u". The only impact would be that your room would go to the last page of that user's thumbnails with all the other rooms they down-voted.

I've always felt that if a user has been banned from x amount of model rooms, all their thumb ratings should be deleted. As they are obviously a problem user and any data pulled from them would be bad data anyways. The classic situation where they ask a model for a certain action and the model says no, but then user settles for something else only to begin the private and demand the first thing again. Fuck those ppl, they make the rating system less accurate and drag down models that are doing nothing wrong. They are the reason I ban anyone who asks for the same thing twice, and I ban anyone who asks for something that breaks the rules instantly without question regardless if I'm in a pvt or not. I'm not getting no thumbs down rating for refusing to break the rules.

When I ban a user from my room, that user is removed from my followers and I from their favorite list.

If that wasn't the case, my follower count would be twice what it is now.

I ban between 5 and 20 accounts every broadcast. Usually within the first hour I'm online.

I don't understand, if CB focused on directing affiliate traffic to the best converting models online at the time all models would complain about how unfair it is that it's all being directed to one person for hours

That is a problem with hard-coded algorithms.

The AI, having millions of parameter slots available, can incorporate the number of people in rooms. It might assign separate parameters to a series of number levels - 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, etc. more parameters to how quickly those levels were reached, more parameters to its own history, more to time of day down to the minute, and hundreds of thousands more we don't even think of. Certainly it would be trained away from what you described because it does not optimize profit.

If you tipped 1,000 tokens would it only show you rooms with 1,000 token goals? Would it only show you rooms with lower goal counts? Would it only show you rooms that you could afford in private for 1,000 tokens at a per minute/duration preferred rate? What about hair color and eye color and...I mean then we're getting into a little too much Demolition Man-ish.

Edit to add: I'm fine with AI moderation. I am not fine with AI deciding my place on the site.

It doesn't? Why not? The percentage of actual registrations to hits is low even less that actually buy tokens.
Then it optimizes hold time. Anyway, who cares how many anons a room gets, do models complain they aren't getting their share?

They land on the tour selected by the affiliate, usually top woman category.

I'm confused isn't that what you are talking about? Affiliate traffic is 99.9% anons, other traffic is already being directed by the recommendation rooms system.

If you repeatedly tipped more in rooms with 1000 token goals, and all the other million parameters equal, it would move those rooms up in your personal thumbnail pages. Other rooms just move down they don't disappear.

There are first-tips, goal-completing tips, Yeehah tips, 1-token tips, last tip, etc. ,etc. AI can take all of them into account and test to see if they relate to profits, growth, or hold time.

I just thought of another optimization goal, speed of spending.

AI can identify users that seem to frequently suppress engagement by other users when in the same room. Maybe institute another color group for them: like Brown :) Or refer them to support, "this person seems to be a liability?"

I love you with all of my heart, I really really do, but why you trying to complicate my life even more? Defeating the original algo has been hard enough.

I probably shouldn't have led with that question. And thanks for the answer.

I think the biggest problem about this industry is never considering what the people actually supplying the content want. It's always about the viewer. It's why Chaturbate HAS to exist. If I didn't say no or yes or whatever there would be no audience and they get to pick whether or not I'm worth watching for 5 seconds or 5 hours and I get to pick whether or not I put up with their personal brand of bullshit.

You're hitting on a massive flaw with legacy platforms. Their rigid, one-size-fits-all ranking algorithms just feed the top 1% while leaving everyone else starving for traffic. And letting toxic users tank a model's visibility with a single spiteful downvote is just broken. The reality is, major networks are too slow to change because the current setup still makes them billions. This frustrating lack of control is exactly why the industry needs to shift toward giving creators actual CRM tools and smart engagement mechanics to directly manage their own traffic. When you own the user connection and can filter out the noise natively, you don't have to stress about broken public rating loops anymore.

A tailored, data-driven approach is definitely the future)

Not to sound like a downer, but what would kind of CRM tools and such would help besides already managing your hashtags, sending notifications for when your on, and creating bios or room subjects to show who and what you are and what viewers can expect? I mean the camsites can use the data for the models to display what cbhours basically displays for us, but how much would that actually help them make more money? I'm not like pro camsite vs the model, but I am realistic and I know the camsites are only going to be pro model in situations that make the cam sites more money. So this stuff needs to be sold to the camsites on how they will make more money from it, not how the models will make more money off it. I've been a manager in the before-fore times and I know you can't just ask upper-management for free popsicles for your employees just because it would be "nice". Models are not organized and with each batch of new models we accept less and less as a whole. No matter how lazy the sites get, they will always have models.

I might be biased because I have an established fanbase and can't really remember what things where like before I had my awesome fans but as of now ish (these last several months after cb announced bringing in more traffic), even when my rank is really low during a really slow hour, I'm still getting random waves of viewers every now and again. I think as long as you have good audio, good video, and your putting your expectations out there, your always going to get a few viewers out of those random waves that will follow you to tune in later or they just stay and become one of your viewers. And I don't even cater to the general broad audience very much.

regardless if the algorithm is working for or against you, nothing beats putting in them hours (and consistently!) to grow and that hasn't changed at all. The more you focus on yourself and the less you focus on the person with 20,000 viewers in their room, the more money you will make as a cam model.

If the model makes money off of it, then doesn't the camsite make money off of it?

I always thought that being able to keep track of your visitors and tippers could have a lot of value... helping you target different tpyes of members, maybe seeing where their interests lie (ie.. the hashtags, or custom values an industrious model may enter) and how much they spend or what they spand on. It could get very complicated, if the model wants. Or they can use it not at all. Personally, I have a terrible memory, so maybe this is only good for me - other than a select regulars or heavy tippers, I don't recall who spent what, if at all.

Being able to see some of this info when they come into the room could be helpful. I haven't thought out logisitics, UI, or anything. Just as I type the more potential I see.

And this one isn't an incentive for the camsite, but being able to export that info, in case you lose your account and have to start over, can be extremely valuable.

No I agree, lol It would be nice to see more than 2 weeks of spending on viewers and such. I just think the sites have their algorithms in place and don't really care about any extra tools for the models as those algorithms are making them enough money without having to pay to develop anything for the models. I mean for example on chaturbate alone, the chatroom box is literally the same one the viewers get and is meant for video next to it and as a model you get 50% of your real estate for the chatbox on your monitor taken up by a stream quality indicator that doesn't need that much space and it doesn't even matter to resize it because its programmed to be sized on your window size, so resizing your window does nothing for it. I just don't think the sites want to spend money for better ui or anything for the models and it would take quite a bit to get them to.

Any opportunities we as individual models miss due to not having more stats/metrics to look at or tools at our hands probably just go to another model and the site is getting money anyways.

Oh good point. I think that's the key here. The only members that a model can best influence to spend more are the ones loyal to that model. And you don't need tools to target them.

Yeah like some social media platforms have a little crm tool dashboard thing but thats more to benefit them then you as it incentivizes you to pay money to boost posts.
