Hey all!

About 5 years ago I was doing cam shows with a partner. We were good friends who decided to try it and see what happens. We made really good money for awhile. But, eventually she found a boyfriend and, understandably, he wasn’t too keen on letting her continue with that line of work. Especially with another man.

I’ve been wanting to get back into camming but, I really don’t know how to find a collab partner. I don’t want to come off as “creepy” or a “perv”. It’s just something I really enjoyed doing and it’s a shame my partner had to quit.

Any advice on navigating back into this would be appreciated!

Thank you.

It's a little weird that you're clearly the dude in the "collab" but you included what I imagine is your ex partner's photo in your avatar. Pretty disrespectful, IMO.

Replace it or I'll delete it for you.

Not a great first impression to a crowd you're looking for advice or even collaboration from.

Okay? I can replace it. But, the picture is both of us. It was our profile picture when we were camming together.

when we were camming together.
...but she quit, and you're not camming together anymore and basically using this as part of your brand.

It isn't a good look.

There was never any fall out between the two of us. She started a relationship. That’s it. We’re still friends. I changed it because I’m not here to offend anyone. I would never have used it if I didn’t already have her permission. I’m not using it for my “brand” I’m using it because that’s the type of content I’ve created and am looking to continue creating.

How about this: ‚ok thanks for explaining how my actions look like to professionals in this field‘

We get approached from guys wanting to collab all of the time. Someone would have to be just starting out like you, and really into you to be interested in that.

1) I've been doing this 13 years, guys used to write me several times weekly, opening themselves up for "collabs", so I stopped listing my email on lots of the sites. It's not worth my time even responding. Time is money when you are self-employed, and it is your greatest resource.

2) Now guys spend $90 on a long show with me, getting to know me, and talking about a future of collabs (still doesn't work off the bat, but a way smarter move, that communicates more serious intent, and not a dude looking for charity/ pity).

3) I can't speak for other performers. However, I have personally spent 13 years building my expertise in marketing, video editing, sales, personal care and pampering, boundary setting, finance, photography, and the list goes on. I would never offer all that I've worked for up, to a stranger who wants to "collab". That's a whole business. I would have to have spent time building a "consistent business relationship" with them, where they demonstrated over the long term, the talents and reliability that they had to bring to me, that would bring me in MORE money. Save ME more time. It's obvious, already, what I could bring to them, but what would be the advantage of my working with them? What are they going to do for me and my business?

Looking for an established model to work with is going to be a lot more difficult. Maybe a newer model really into guys and dick, but even then you need to pay them imo to shoot w you. Or demonstrate that you are going to do a lot more work than simply being a stunt dick. Because a lot of women do just fine on their own and can make as much or more. If they can make it past the 1st year and all the craziness involved/ abuse/ people looking to exploit them for personal gain.

There are way more barriers to entry and there is way higher competition than there was 5, 10 or 15 years ago.. Even back then 90% of people gave up before the end of the 1st year.

To make it in this digital economy you have to bring people a lot more than simply some pulchritude, that's not where people are at anymore, everyone is way more needy because the world is a mess socially.

Totally agree with everything @MarieElise has said above!

Also not speaking on anyone else's behalf here, and I only have a few collabs that I have done. But I'm much more willing to work with someone that has lots and lots of experience doing collabs or even just making content solo. Like lets say you continued doing solo work these last 5 years, that would tell me your more interested in making money than you are just looking to put your dick in something. I'm far more comfortable if its not a big deal if your dick is in my mouth basically, and not continuing this business just because a partner went away would scream to me that its going to be a big deal to you when you do get that dick wet.

Thank you for the well thought out and thorough response.

I had a feeling it would be an uphill battle. Outside of being a likable, good human, It’s basically a “right place, right time” opportunity. The best thing I can do is put myself in the best position to be in that “right place”.

I really appreciate the insight. I will definitely keep all of this in mind going forward. This is the perspective I needed to hear.

It definitely is about making money for me. The only reason I didn’t continue was, I had nowhere to make content. I was living with a house full of roommates. We had been camming at her apartment.

I am definitely all for doing solo content but, what kinds of things do I need to be prepared for as a man doing solo content? What things should I include in my show? I’m literally up to do *almost* anything to generate views and revenue.

So many different variables in that, the best suggestion is to watch some cams and see what your comfortable with and what you might do well.

In general, it's going to be other dudes watching you. Not sure if you are already aware of that, OP. Lots of guys have come here in the past under the delusion that women make up a large chunk of webcam viewers for male models; that is not the case. So I want to make sure you are aware of that right from the jump. Male models mainly earn from other males.

You could be the hottest, coolest guy on the planet, and you're still probably not going to get very many female viewers who spend money on it.
I've noticed these days a lot of younger guys are really delusional about women, in general, which I blame on all this garbage manosphere shite that is basically just a huge money grab, and a bunch of harmful, misleading garbage. But unfortunately, it has had and continues to have, a huge influence on many young men. I honestly wish more normal, grounded dudes would get on YouTube and Kick, and just put more positive, realistic support/ influence out there for young guys. Because many of the guys around doing it, are fucking awful people, who are deceiving everyone for personal financial gain and causing A LOT of trouble.

I keep trying to talk the Boomer guys I know into starting YouTubes to try and influence younger guys in a more positive way, in more positive prosocial directions. However, it's a huge endeavor which few guys I know want to deal with.

Content or cam? The answer is dramatically different depending on the answer to that question.

Oh, I’m well aware of the audience I would be catering to. I don’t care if it’s men watching. I’m comfortable enough with my sexuality where it wouldn’t bother me. I just won’t be collaborating with other men.

I would prefer having a partner but, if solo work is the key to opening that door to show I know what I’m doing, I’m game.

When I broadcast on cb, my room is like 90% women... I mean they are all on cam, and it's proberly the operator dude and no one is paying attention, they are just trying to get dudes to go to their room 😂

I would say with cam, it's something you'll need to feel out since you can plan for doing a certain type of show but if the audiance you attract is after something different then you'll need to pivot give it a think and get your hard no's in place first, then honestly I would just go live, chat with the members, ask them questions about the shows they would like to see and then you can build out a better plan from there.

As for content, you can be a lot more in control, basically everything has it's market, One of my best selling categories is cuckold videos, which is just me telling the viewer shit like the gf is only with them for their money and she's coming to fuck me every chance she gets, how they know about it and proberly jerk off thinking about it while I'm baning their gf / wife. My best selling videos are all pretty much like that, Non nude, very verbal, describing the fantasy of what the video is about.

You can sell videos on CB, but unless you get a lot of fetish members I would keep those more vanilla, or you can lean more into doing fetish shows from the start but in my experience it's been better to keep public vanilla, say your fetish friendly (if you are) but fetish shows are done in pvts.

Personally I think fetish shows in pvt over cum shows in pvt makes sense (I never do cum shows in pvts anymore) because with a fetish pvt your goal and the viewers goal are aligned, but with a cum show pvt, the viewer wants you to finish as quickly as possible and your goal is to keep it running as long as possible since loss of earnings in recovery time is also something you need to factor in, I also wouldnt do cheap pvt shows for the same reason.

All really good points. Thank you for this.

I’m glad I found this forum. Really appreciate all the insight from everyone.

I have been solo camming and making content for over 10 years, so feel free to ask any questions your not sure on, but most of it is going to be a learn as you go type deal tbh

The cuckold fetish is HUGE! I'm so jacked up in hormones, I cry watching the first season of sailor moon crystal (for the second time too). That sums up how well my dick works, and guys still want me to tell them how I fuck their wives.
