I really want to get started modeling there because I hear it has a lot of potential there. But I also hear that it's really hard to be a successful model there even if you're doing everything as should be done. So I hear while they have tons of traffic and earnings can be high that it's actually really, really hard to be successful there. Is this true? What's an average earning a month on MFC?

By the way, I've seen models like AspenRae just rake in token after token like nothing and pretty much all the other girls and "average" models have a tough time. It really seems hit or miss there and after reading what a bunch of models had to say I'm almost scared to start there. I have an account I haven't broadcasted on that is just sitting there pending either broadcast or deletion....

I don't mind answers to this question being PM'd to me btw....

I'm certainly not an expert at camming but I've been on MFC since November '11 and it's all about being yourself. MFC has more of a community feel than other camsites and showing your personality and doing things you are comfortable with will help you out for sure. You won't really know how successful you'll be until you try! Good luck :)

I think some women who are newer to sex work think that if they just find the right site and target the right demographic, their looks and personality will shoot them to the top. But that's not how it works.

There is no site that will give you a ton of money with out a ton of work put in. We could probably give you the names of a couples sites where you could make a few hundred dollars a day - if you spend eight hours a day working.

MFC can provide huge payouts, but it's known to be one of the more intensive and involved websites out there. Models are often expected to be on call 24/7 to interact and entertain their regulars constantly, even if they aren't broadcasting live. Many models find they have to put in hours of work behind the scenes just to stay competitive. Many models also find that all the equipment and materials they need get very expensive.

MFC is also a site where if you don't start out of the gate well, you're going to have a lot of trouble getting back up there. It's definitely possible, but a low camscore can take months to rectify.

Some models on MFC make a thousand dollars a day. Many (I'd say most) make less than minimum wage. The income disparity is often startling. There is no "average monthly earning". Some models make $200 a month. Some models make $50,000 a month.

That being said, I joined MFC with almost no research three days before the end of the month and made $300 in my first three days. That was as much as I made working two weeks at the shop. MFC can be hit or miss, but if you don't try it out you certainly aren't going to make anything.

scared? lol you have nothing to lose, try it out! Just try not to compare yourself with others and just have fun. Dont forget some have been on MFC for a long time so its just normal they have more people on their page then others.

True that. I would say, though, that if you don't enjoy MFC now and want to make a new account in the future, their current policy is to not give out new accounts to existing models. So if you end up tanking your camscore, coming back in a few months or more and trying to open a new account to start fresh, they may not allow it.

This is soo true!
I'd like to use Twitter as an example.

When someone tweets something camming-related at me, or has a question about one of my videos, I always reply to them as soon as I can. And then it doesn't matter if I'm at university, if I'm chilling at home, if I'm at a friend's house, if I just woke up, or if I have general 'free time' - I always reply to them as soon as I have 15 seconds to use my phone. It's part of the job, in my opinion.

Sometimes it's a bit of an effort because I don't always feel like thinking about camming, but Twitter has done a lot for me, so the people who write me there deserve a reply. I don't know what my MFC 'career' would be like without Twitter. Lots of guys have found their way into my room by following me on Twitter first.

Even when Twitter people are talking to me about non-MFC-related things, it gives me an opportunity to show some of my personality, and like Evvie already said this is essential on MFC. Every little thing you say/type that can make you more appealing to people can end up being important for the $ you make.
If you're interested in camming on a site that's more about sexuality and less about personality, there's a variety of different sites for you where you can be successful as well! :) But there, too, behind-the-scenes-work is expected.

Oh wow, I had no idea o_o
I thought this kind of number was reserved for, let's say models with a camscore over 15k or something.. Wow. Congrats! :)

Some random comments.
Understand how the site works.
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=566&p=7769&hilit=camscore#p7769 - the monster camscore thread for example (the first few posts really 'it's tokens/hour')

I'd also recommend you spend some time - several hours - looking at new models, as well as watching some of the top models whos style 'clicks' with you.

Look at the new model list.
Some have 40 in their room, (turn on room counts to make this easier), some have 4. Ideally you want to get your camscore up, and at least a couple of regular viewers before the 'new model' tag falls off.

Some of this is for reasons you may not be able to help - some girls hit the genetic lottery.
Some of it is for obvious reasons (they're covered in coconut oil, and dancing), but you can see a large number of girls sitting there with 4 people in the room pretending to be a manikin.

Go back to the homepage, and now look at models with camscores of 2000, and those with 800. These are girls that have gone up and down since the beginning.

And to a degree at least - ignore what the top models (those say in the top 100) say.
Not completely of course, but many of them started MFC a _long_ time ago, and they are the ones that got lucky.

Simply copying one of the top models slavishly may not work for you at all as a new model, for several reasons.
Most models change their act significantly over time. Many of the top models don't do privates, but did lots of them initially.
Find models doing well as new models, ones doing well 2 months in, and try to be inspired by what they're doing.

Dipping in and out randomly is going to hurt your chances.
May you get lucky, and make it anyway? Sure.
Treat it as a job.
It may (with luck) be a fun job that you enjoy eventually, but that doesn't mean it's not actual work.
Good luck.

From this member's opinion bank...

1-when a member checks out a room, you have about five seconds to make an impression. So, just sitting and starring at your computer doesn't stop the member from moving on. This is hard work, so you must do something like talk and smile.
2-many/most members have some degree of lonliness when perving. If they just wanted to jerk off, they could watch a video/movie. But they like the interraction.
3-a basic human need is the sense to belong. Make members feel at home. Welcome them as a hostess to your room.
4-you don't need to be another library, public, car, raffle, crazy, gyno closeup model to succeed. These types of things can and do work for some models. But sometimes they come across as "I saw another model doing this and the tips rolled in. So, I'm going to do it." and then the tips don't role in because it isn't the activity that creates tips, it's the model.
5-though genetics plays a part, it isn't the holy grail. Just check out the number of porn stars who try camming and fail. Or, the numer of models who struggle with acne and succeed.
6-remember that though models are from around the world, sites like MFC are English sites. Since you are in ACF, I assume you can speak English. Use this to your benefit by speaking to the members, not just typing to them. (one exception is Olivia who can speak English, but hardly ever does and this is part of her Oliviaville)

I could write more, but the caffeine is wearing out. :twocents-02cents:

I made a rather ranty blog post about why copying ideas is no bueno, not from an ethical standpoint but from a business standpoint. It's here if you care to take a peek.

Haha, now I feel stupid.
I found the 64k really strange when I looked at her post, then I looked at her camscore and found them even stranger, then I thought, "hm, maybe she just works 10 hours every day".

Doh! Late night fuzzy math fail with the 70 mil.

I was assuming 1st place made around $70K which = 1.4 million tokens. I knew $50K was 1 million tokens and somehow converted $70K into 70 million tokens in my melon. I only had one drink too, lol

I just did some probably very incorrect math, but I'm pretty sure if you made $64000 a month, if you worked for 30 days without a break and worked 10 hours every day, your camscore would at least be in the 4000-5000 range.

damn I didn't want to imply that at all!

Also, what Evvie says.

I found your blog post EXTREMELY informative! Thank you so much!!! Being such a new model and talking with my guys in the room mixed with trying to figure out what i need to do to make tokens has become so frustrating. However, in the short time i have been camming (2 weeks) i have luckily had some amazing guys in my room and, all they want to do is help me out! They have thrown so many ideas at me and, your blog kind of put all of the ideas into a straight line so i could put my puzzle together. Thank you again! :h:
