Assumption:
If I had parents who raised me properly, gave me financial advice, allowed me to go to college, then right now I wouldn't be camming.

No one has mentioned the single mom thing yet.
Most of the liberal, understanding guys I know think that camming is a safer, better alternative to stripping as a way for a single mom to make a living, and that most models are single moms. (They think the same of dancers.)
My guess is that's half true. Some cam-girls qualify. Others don't. Bottom line: nobody needs to be pitied for their reproductive or relationship choices, or for their decision to work as an adult entertainer.

when so many models are referring to themselves as 'camwhores', why be so surprised when guys in the room talk to you and treat you like a whore? As I said earlier, I'm NOT condoning their behavior.

However, I doubt we'll ever see words that have a long history of being used as slurs will rarely become "terms of endearment," except in specific situations among people who understand the context and take it that way--but when one uses a slur in mixed public, many will think it's okay to use a slur as a slur.

Easier: quit using slurs, rather than trying to universally change the meaning/intent of the slurs.

Oh, I agree that ALL of us (cam girls and girls who have sex with men for money) should be treated with respect, and I've never said otherwise. I just don't know why so many models throw around the word 'whore' (speaking about themselves), but then when guys ask "How much to fuck in person bb?" they fire back with "I'M NOT A FUCKING WHORE, I'M A CAMGIRL!" :lol:

This thread is about assumptions. It WAS an assumption that was clearly posted in another thread. The assumption was, that cam models come from homes where they were not raised properly. Had it been a MEMBER who posted in another thread, making a similar comment, me posting it here would not have been an issue. had it been a member in my room who said "Your mom sure didn't raise you right, otherwise you would not be camming..."
