I've been on and off MFC for a little over a year, and because of a legal name change was somehow able to start all over and can enjoy the newbie status to bounce back after all that "off" time.

I'm getting solid tips being online.. I find that taking my show offline for a private KILLS the room that took me an hour to build.

Curious - does anyone NOT do privates, even though they are $$, so they can build a room? I kinda feel like that means more money down the road, and maybe the same amount of i kept the room open for 2 hours straight, not 1 hour and then in another 3 hours, 4 hours later, after i took off for that private.

Thanks for any ideas!

There are plenty of models who choose to not do privates. You don't have to do them if you don't want to.

If you do want to offer privates, you can go into your model settings and change it to require that the member has at least X tokens in his account in order to initiate a private. This way, you're not dealing with some jerk with only 90 tokens (That's only enough for a 1 1/2 minute private show) trying to initiate a private show. Lol.

Some models ask that the guy tip her X tokens in public chat first, before she agrees to leave public chat to go private with him.

Tipping X tokens in chat before going private is smart! i never thought of that. Do they put this in their menu or just as part of the conversation?

There's been a few discussions on this, with some different views of course.

There are a lot of models who won't do privates for various reasons. But, there are some who place conditions on them such as if the room is busy and tips are flowing, they will not accept privates until a set time such as before the log off. This way, there isn't an interruption such as what you're experiencing. Otherwise, if the room is slow, they might take them.

As a member, I'm fairly selective on when I'll take a model private. It follows basically the above conditions, even if a model doesn't have them herself. Reason is that I'd rather let her make more money in public than if she did with me. If the room is slow, I'll message her and ask if she'd accept as it's slow. If she isn't ready, I ask her to keep me in mind for when she plans to. Other times, I enjoy just sending tips with a model only note. Sometimes, it's just to tease her about a funny comment she made. Others, it's kind of a flirtatious comment. Or, something other than that.

Ultimately, it's your choice on privates. If you are making more tips in pubic than you would be in private, why bother with privates? I also know of a few models who will do groups and not privates.

I've occasionally found models who only do scheduled privates (or Skypes), which they typically schedule at the beginning or end of their cam sessions, or during some "off" time. I've also had models who, similarly, would agree to a private but postpone until they are ready to close the room for the night, then do the private just before logging off.

I think when I've seen it, the information was on the models' MFC profiles. But you could also state it in the room topic. There are a lot of members who don't even bother reading a model's profile.

Going to private while the chat is not dead is something I don't like. I will almost never stick around waiting for the private to end, I will leave the room or even leave MFC completely. I think doing them at the beginning or end, or schedule them is a better way to do them.

When you say "while the chat is not dead," you're referring to members still tipping in public chat, right? I'm assuming that's what you meant. :) Because while chatting with us is great in itself, it's the tokens that pays our bills. If a long period of time has passed without a tip, and all we've got to show for it is a whopping 10 tokens from like 30 minutes ago (and we do not have a countdown going that guys are tipping towards)...most of us would absolutely be accepting that private show. Why wouldn't we???

Thanks everyone, you all kinda validated what I'm thinking. I'm not going to take a private when people are still tipping and engaging or I'm developing relationships that could lead to more money down the road. Honestly, i feel like when I take a private they end up dropping out after 1 or 2 minutes - unlike a Skype - and that destroys a full room if I had one. Not worth it!

I really like the idea of requiring a certain amount of tips in public chat before private. I too am often faced with the issue of to go private or not. I typically will base it in how often I'm getting tipped. If there is a lull in the tipping for a little while then I'll go private and get what I can. This usually benefits me because I get people that will spy on the show so I end up making almost double the tokens maybe more depending on the amount of people spying.

Yes, of course that's what I meant.

Well your post didn't exactly make that clear, so that's why I asked. :p Some guys (not contributing financially) actually do get peeved when a model gets taken private. Lol.
