Nobody's mentioned "fat" or "fatty" here, as I'm sure the fellas of ACF are aware enough of how ladies feel about that. But jeepers creepers I have so many dudes come into my chat with "oooh, I love fat girls/fatties". And they range from complete jackasses to otherwise polite dudes. Jeeze Louise, though.
Fat isn't a bad word, it's a perfectly good word to describe fat people. C'mon claim fat as your own! Fat isn't wrong, it's right! :thumbleft:

Sure, that's what it is but in our culture "fat" is used as a derogatory term that makes people feel alienated from the rest of society. It makes many feel as if they're not good enough since they're supposed to be ___ size per the media. So, it might not be wrong but that doesn't necessarily mean it is right to call someone "fat".

It's the fact that they're being rude that's offensive.

I don't know man.

I'm fat, you know I'm fat, I know I'm fat, My neighbors know I'm fat, my dog knows I'm fat, my doctor knows I'm fat...it's just a fact.

I don't take facts as insults--I am not saying everyone should feel that way, and react the way that I do--but, I do think it benefits me.

I know I'm short and whether I like it or not, I am going to work that to my advantage-----same with being fat.

I can take steps to change the fact that I am fact, if I want, but as it stands now---I am fat. And while I am not interested in making it the focus of my room/show I am going to take advantage of it, and use it to draw people in, to the best of my ability.

I even use Fat as a tag on MFC...and always have. If someone is looking for what I have to offer--I want to make sure I am taking the right steps to allow them to find me.

I feel the exact same way about it and leave the 'fat' tag up on my profile so that if someone happens to search it, I'll be in the results.

I honestly find it odd when someone calls me fat in a rude way because it always feels like they're trying to tell me something I don't know. It's as much an insult to me as it would be if someone came in and told me I have brown hair.

I personally call myself a BBW, Curvy (and being a bbw--does not always mean your curvy), thick, fat, and plus size.

I have in the past gotton a lot of flack for using the word curvy (esp since it's in my name). I am ok with that..i embrace and am fully aware I am overweight---but still think i am curvy.[/color][/b]

SO MUCH THIS.

It bothers me when I've come across lighter models or members almost be annoyed with the fact some BBW's choose to use the word curvy. Curvy to me is applicable to any size. Yep, I'm a BBW or whatever word you want to apply to indicate not-skinny lol...However we're not all box shaped, just because we're larger. I have a waist to hip ratio...and ass and tits and all that other good stuff that creates curves. Derp.

When I tag curvy it's not to try to represent myself falsely or make myself sound like I'm not a BBW. I'm well aware I'm both thanks. It's not used as a facade or trick.

Aside from that mini-rant lol, I don't have any preference on other terms chose to describe me really. Even if you're not a super fan of the word fat/BBW/etc...In the business end of things, that's what you will fall under category wise in the industry. If you went to a tube site to watch overweight women in porn, you'd probably click on the BBW category right?

It's completely acceptable to say that you prefer curvier girls to less curvy girls, just like it's totally acceptable to say politely that you like any preference so long as you're saying it as a compliment to the person and not directly insulting anyone else in the process.
This is what it comes down to, whether it's body type or anything else.
We all have personal preferences and how we share those preferences is important to all involved.
Yes, I (as Isabella puts it) "prefer curvier girls to less curvy girls" but that comparison doesn't need to be the focus of conversation.

Also---

I so so surprised at how many people ONLY think of "thicK" as being negative. I mean now that you guys have explained why, it makes total sense just surprised me.

Thick when referring to appearance has always been a positive thing to me---I literally don't think I have ever heard someone reefer to someones body as thick and mean it in a negative way.

"the difference between fat and thick"
something about if you smack the ass and it jiggles, she fat not thick

but my question is
whose ass dont jiggle when you smack it????
unless you got like a pancake booty

A very muscular one. My husband had a big bubble butt, but it was rock-solid muscle and you couldn't pinch it, grab it, or make it jiggle because it was too firm.

Hi there,

I'm what you would consider a fat girl and I've been camming part time for a year and three months. Honestly if you set your expectations realistically, advertise a bit, are friendly and approachable you can make money. Plenty of bbw loving men that will be happy to tip and enjoy your body in its glory. Of course you will get some people that will go out of their way to tell you horrible and disgusting things. Brush that off and ban right away. Remember you gotta have a thick  skin on MyFreeCams. No pun intended. Keep me updated on how things go for you.

I just started back in Feb, and I'm a pretty curvy/heavy gal. I have some in the front, but luckily I have an hour glass shape.
But I think that's what makes MFC kind of awesome you know? It's like one of those 20 flavor soda machines at BK or something. Wanna try a girl with a different shape, THERE YA GO!
I've done pretty well, and with the occasional troll here and there, I do pretty fine

Be in love with your body. And yourself. And you'll do great.
:h: Hope this helps.

I use the term curvy most often. I would never call a girl fat as that is rude imo. I love girls with curves. And while I find many different body types attractive I am usually more drawn to girls that are considered to be curvy especially if compared to the real thin fashion model type of body. That is just a bit too thin for what would normally catch my eye. But I do respect that everyone has different tastes too.

This is one of the things I love so much about this industry/community. There's a space for everyone and everything, all body types are accepted and are part of a beautiful whole.

On the subject of language, I tend to go with "bigger" or "curvy" as those carry the least negative connotations as far as my brain is concerned. That and read the model's tags to see which words she herself uses. Mainly in an attempt to be as potentially non-offensive as possible because it's difficult to convey tone in a text-based medium and I don't want to inadvertently get banned from a room I like on account of miscommunication.

Thick is weird for me, though. I'm used to seeing it in both contexts (though whenever I see the word used to describe a person, my brain defaults to seeing it as a synonym for dumb) but I'd never use it myself outside if referring to a dense viscous fluid. In all other cases I've found that there are better words to convey what I'm trying to say that don't have the possible ambiguity attached.

:hello2:

I tag myself as pretty much everything too in terms of camming/selling video for search purposes. Away from that now that I think of it I don't really refer to myself as anything lol. I'm not offended if a guy calls me chubby/fat/thick etc unless he's obviously saying it in some kind of intended mean way. And even then it's not that I'm upset, I just don't want asshats near me.

There's a space for everyone in this industry so long as you're fun and interesting and good at marketing yourself. Your space might not be on MFC but there's a whole heap of other places where you can rock your own space.

so I don't have my cam model status yet but I did send Amber a message to be approved.

meanwhile, I'm a fat/bbw model on MFC and I've been very successful (I've only actually been camming seriously and regularly since late May of this year) I've even being #1 a few times I've been on. I think there are definitely more fit/thin women on MFC but there's a place for everyone. :)

I am a size 9 or 11, height 5'0 model. Even with g cup boobs im no where near 200 pounds. I consider myself curvy, chubby, thick but BBW seems a stretch to me. Ive never even been in a plus sized store except plus size bra stores (cacique). I shop at Charlotte Russe most often.

Can you be thick and successful? YES. Ive been anywhere from a 4000-8000 camscore in my camming career thus far.

Here is me today for example: Deformed belly button and all. But still making cash:

So ladies, no matter what your size, YOU CAN DO WELL. not all men want "the ideal body type" and sometimes the uniqueness of your body is an excellent selling point!

On a side note: our society shames people for having fat on their body. I hope you will all stop using weight related adjectives to describe girls as compliments. You don't know how that makes that particular model feel. I know some girls "own" the bbw tag, but use it sparingly on those who dont advertise themselves that way, just as you wouldn't use it IRL. Words can hurt.

Starrie, you're the reason I haven't given up. You're gorgeous and from what I peeked of your room, you are fun and sweet.

Miss Lolli told me about you when I first started, and I'm glad I caught you the few times I have. :h:

So when I call any American "thick", they don't actually understand that I'm insulting them?/off-topic-deraillement

Jethro Tull fans would get it. Others, maybe not so much.

May have to add the "as a brick" part to get it, because well...American's are thick.

I have to agree with Lil!

So awesome to see a "curvy" lady up top!
