Happens with women too. Although with A LOT of practice it seems to be possible to override it, somewhat, or get better control of it, or something like that.

Overall, what I'm getting here is it's not just a me thing to have no strong clue what that meant. Unless people are just trying to be polite. He was a nice guy so it would surprise me if it was a weird political thing, because he treated me well. But you never really know with people, I guess.
