When I'm not camming I'm a full time freelance photographer.
Last night my canon 20D took a fat crap when it's shutter reached the end of it's life.
My heart sank. I'm even sick to my stomach. The thing that pays my bills is no longer available for me to use.
SO I will be camming my arse off to save up for either the repair costs or a new camera ...or both.

I wanted to make this known to the cam girl world for awareness. I'm not specifically asking for hand outs or donations but maybe a signal boost? I'm going to be very generous with cam girl offers and deals.

Anything will help, even if you just rub your boobs together to create a positive friction and send out bright booby lightning bolts of awesomeness towards my situation.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble, and I sincerely hope you make enough camming to supplement your income. On another note, your link to your MFC profile doesn't seem to work. I even tried searching for SpookyGirl, but to no avail. Perhaps you changed your model name?

So whats the repair tag gonna run ? From my exp, it might be considerably cheaper and very much faster, to pick up another body on ebay or from a used camera exchange. A quick look on ebay found several @ $160 or less.

Bob makes a great point... E-bay may be a quick and cheap temporary solution to your needs. I say temporary because it's cheaper than sending your camera out for repair ($200-$400 if you can find a local Canon authorized shop with parts... the parts are pretty cheap really, but replacing a shutter assembly is pretty time consuming). The downfall to e-bay items is that you don't truly know the shutter count on a used camera. It's easy to reset a shutter count and you don't want to pay $200 for a used camera that may only last a couple months unless you have something to fall back on like your repaired camera being returned to you shortly. However, it does give you a back up body in the event that you have problems in the future... when your income depends on your camera, a back up is mandadory (I imagine you have already gathered as much :icon-cry: ).
Good luck!

I reposted her link with the missing l in her model advertising thread. SpoookyGirl I used to PM models to let them know a link was broken in their signature, but the fact most of them never fixed it made me too sad to continue doing it.

AH! *squints* I see the problem. Yeah I did change my name for a minute and it wouldn't allow me to change it back so i had to add an extra O. (long story)

Yeah I only spent $175 for my canon 20D about a year ago. I really think its just time for an upgrade but at the same time it would be good to fix it up or replace it anyways just for the back up.

Repair and replacement cost is going to be $350. This is why i'm brainstorming/shitting myself.
