I think what he is wanting to do is use his affiliate link with the girl's names and make money off of people visiting their rooms.
Example: http://chaturbate.com/affiliates/in/yiM ... =mercyrain
(this is my affiliate link with my name in it. )
Example 2: http://chaturbate.com/affiliates/in/yiM ... elterlight
One link will go to my room, while the other will go to shelterlight's room. I could get credit for either one. Whichever one I wanted to use. It's just basically changing the destination at the end of the link. Why can't he be forthcoming and just say that he wants to use his affiliate links and make money off of our rooms? Yeah, more traffic, but where the fuck is our money?

That's odd you seem to be supporting him in that thread and here chastising him for being underhanded.

Basically, as I understand it he wants to use you on banners and everytime someone joins the site he gets some $$ - models might get increased traffic which is good, but might as well just lay out all the info here so they know what it is.

Also selling the banner code (and passing on the girls permission?) by the looks of that other thread. A suspicious mind might wonder if he joined these forums just to find girls to spam on banners.

I met Stock on Chaturbate. He hung out in my room and told me a bit about what his plans were. I chatted with him Via PM here, and eventually gave him my Skype after I confirmed with Shirley that he was an affiliate for Chaturbate and is legit. He was very forthcoming on Skype with what is plans were.

I am pretty sure he just would rather talk privately about his specific plan so its not open for others to use? As in the site he uses, etc. for traffic.

Ok, I'm sorry if I gave too much info. From what I have read and Googled, it is open info. I was just giving the heads up that that may be his intentions. More traffic might be good, but will it really make people get off of their asses and buy tokens? All I was saying is that models could lose out in the process. I'm an affiliate too. Every broadcaster is an affiliate. What if the traffic does not benefit the broadcasters? I just have to be weary because I don't know who this guy is or what he is really after. That's all. :twocents-02cents:
If some guy just comes straight out and starts trying to recruit models and does not give any info as to how he is going to be doing business, then I will do research and see if i can find info to make the post more understandable. I won't give anyone any of my info unless I trust them. You never know what can happen on the net.

I just told him good luck, that's all I did and said that Chaturbate is a legit way of making money. I never came out and said I supported him.

I cam on Chaturbate myself, and I personally can say that they do actually pay out from the affiliate links. I have gotten several checks from them. It is very legit. Oh, I wasn't suggesting you "outed" him. That didn't even cross my mind. Just saying why I think he isn't sharing the exact details on the forums.

I love that we are all affiliates. Unfortunately, my reach is not as wide as I would like it to be when it comes to getting new traffic.

I just thought some of the ladies here might like to know what was going on. So I was trying to help out. It is searchable info. The best way to win business/attention is to be completely upfront about what your intent is. People like me will look things up to find out what exactly is going on. I am a very curious person. I think what he is doing is cool. However, more traffic does not always necessarily
mean more money for the models.

What I posted here has nothing to do with that. Anyone that is an affiliate can do this. That's just a script we wrote using the data provided by Chaturbate, a tool to help others.

I can make money off of your rooms already. There will be thousands of affiliates promoting this site by all means which include linking to the home page, linking to a specific model, etc. This is just part of the business and is true on every cam site out there. I wouldn't talk to models directly for something anyone is able and allowed to do.

I don't use banners and as mentioned above I can already link to your room and "make money from you". I only know of one website that ever disallowed using chathost images etc to promote that site, it's not standard. If you cam anywhere for more than a month you can almost guarantee your pictures are floating around and being used to both promote the site you are on and a lot of times just stolen and used to promote something completely different. Heck, a lot of people steal them and put them in members areas and sell access to them like a paysite.

Hi CammiStar and thank you. There are several reasons I don't post publicly but you hit the most important one. There are thousands of webmasters that would be happy to use and abuse my sources of traffic. I feed my kids with this stuff and like to keep some things close to the vest. I am an honest person but I understand ahead of time that webcam models have been approached by 1000 liars before they hear from me. Makes it tough but nothing I can really do about it.

I registered here with the same name I've used since 2003 for a reason. The only thing I'm concerned about is some users here seeing my comments there and not understanding the context. GFY is full of haters, trolls, trouble makers and all kinds of bottom feeders. There are also many highly intelligent and successful people there and I've made a lot of money with several over the years. My comments there go along with the "Go Fuck Yourself" attitude that most display. To an outsider this can appear intimidating but it's just how things are done there. Sometimes I'm talking shit to a troll, sometimes to someone I respect and will do business with later in the day. In either case the attitude displayed there is not an accurate reflection on me, lol.

For your second part, I understand your concern but only sort of. What info could I possibly get from you that would do me any good? An email address? Skype name? I guess I could irritate you a bit but it's not like I can ruin your life from basic things everyone uses online. I do understand the skepticism, with cam girls especially but the 20 foot high security fence over information you'd send me for 300 tokens is a bit much.

I don't fault you for anything and I wasn't hiding in the first place. Posting public info is fine, no worries at all.

However, you are completely wrong about being up front in a public space. At one point I counted over 120 websites that stole my entire website and were using it to make money online. At the time I was making $20,000 per month as a noob that knew how to promote cams because I loved them and it taught me a valuable lesson. With the amount of caution you are displaying over basic info why would you assume I'd be less cautious with information that has grossed me 7 figures over the years?

Also, more traffic doesn't always mean more money but on sites like Chaturbate I'd say it almost always does. More viewers to get to the top room, more people coming in to see why your room is popular and more tippers from any new guys that stop by. I'm curious to how you think most tippers found a webcam site in the first place? The vast majority came through affiliate links, traffic is the lifeblood of that business.

Anyhow, nothing you posted is a big deal. I found some people to work with and we'll be doing more in the future.

Things can get ugly on forums quickly though when speculation is involved so thanks.

Normal affiliates deal in much different traffic sources than a chathost would. To benefit from that traffic you would have to basically start an entirely new business. You can of course increase your traffic and earnings from self promotion in a variety of ways, my point was you should do what you do best because you'll make more from that anyhow. Chathosts have the benefit of getting paid to refer members + getting paid in tokens. If you send 5000 and only 200 tip you you still made $5000 + those tips.

I wouldn't mind posting some tips here on self promotion though. Where is the best section for it?

Congrats!!! Chaturbate is a good site for affiliates to benefit from, if they only use it properly. I also understand that affiliates bring new traffic to a site with hopes that those people will spend money on a model. I have yet to see many new tippers/viewers since I have ended my public shows. Chaturbate is my hangout for when I am bored now. You chose to share all of the info on GFY, I can guarantee that there are far more trolls and content thieves on there than there ever will be on here. I know that for sure, as Amber regulates the forum on a daily basis and does a damn good job at it even though she is juggling a lot of other things. I see threads complaining about Chaturbate spammers on GFY, I have only posted one thread on there and now use my sig as advertising. I also wanted to ask, are these your sites as well?

I did the same and spoke with him in private about his plans. After understanding how it works, its not a bad deal really, I worked with him and received payment as promised. Its good to have a little extra from something other than camming that is for sure.
