How long did it take for you to be able to cam full time and replace it with a "mainstream" job?

Are you able to survive plentiful without the misery of worrying about money all the time?

3 months -

I could have quit after month 1 but I wanted to make sure this was going to keep going the way it was. When my 3 month "trial" was up (I gave myself a number and if I hit it then I would quit) - walked in and quit my job. Here I am 6 years later (full time) I never went back to a vanilla job nor would I :)

I would say take what you make now and as long as you make more than your vanilla job (I had a specific goal month number) and you can survive and you feel it's going to keep going that way then quit. Also quit when your ready and you know you want to do this 100 percent.

I would say it honestly depends on your hustle and the time it takes to "know yourself", if you will. I.E. your results may vary.

If you KNOW you can do this daily (or whatever you decide your schedule to be) with actual enjoyment, you can kill it right out the gate. On the flipside, if you are even the least bit insecure, it can show on your first broadcast and it can wear you down very quickly. So first and foremost, you HAVE to know your limits to be successful, both mentally and physically.

Granted, everyone has their bad days, but if you can get up and build your confidence and keep that beautiful radiance you have, you'll be a supahstar in no time, bb.

/tangent

BUT to directly answer your question, it took me a month to replace my vanilla job.

I started on the 11th of August and have managed to work 29 hours and bring in $300.00 which averages about $10.34 an hour. I've noticed if I'm online in the morning then I make way more than if I've worked in the afternoon or evening. Unfortunately I work most days starting at 11am. I think I could probably hustle more if I changed my schedule and worked MFC in the morning rather then the late afternoon/evening.

The first month for any new job/career is the hardest when figuring out your "niche" and service times to be most busy. I feel like I haven't done terribly for my first 2 weeks at MFC.

Thanks for being open about it!

I am not a fan of MFC and never have been- Seriously try Streammate- I believe a lot of girls just think MFC is where ALL the money is. I say find your niche!! try clip sites as well. I went full time clip maker 3 years ago and have almost doubled my income so believe me camming isn't the only lucrative thing.

That's a good question. I had a lot of problems figuring myself out in this and also made 300 pounds in my first month. Then my camscore tumbled and now I'm in 0 dollar per hour zone with MFC.
I started at Feb, switched to Chaturbate and still don't make enough I'd quit my job for this, so I'm trying get on a course next month to have better options and do it as a hobby.
I haven't yet touched clips though and I don't have lovesense(kinda unsure about investing in those). Right now my plan is to be just more of myself - to have normal hangouts on mfc and do some erotic content.

I went all in at the beginning because I didn't really have another option at the time and I had to make rent. Because of that, I was very motivated and I wouldn't log off until I had made enough money. I was also extremely lucky that I managed to pick up two very generous regulars rather early on so within a month I was making the same if not more than I was at my old office job.

7 months, give or take. And what Bianca said: diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, try a bunch of different sites!

I found camming when I was collecting unemployment and deciding whether to follow through after cosmetology school. I've always made enough at it to squeak by. Now I just do clips and supplement with cam if I have to. My work ethic blows. I've added one clip to my sites this whole month. Made enough to cover most of my bills. If I lived somewhere expensive, I'd probably have to get a new job or read enough self help books to get myself in order.

It took me almost 4 months of video making to know that I could make enough to afford rent most of the time. I didn't start officially camming until almost a month after I quit my job. I shouldn't have, but I was so desperate to get away from that job. I still don't truly make enough to support myself. I can pay rent and my phone bill (nothing else). I worry about money constantly, but I'm hoping it'll only take me another year to be able to consistently support myself without worry.

i started camming while i had a fulltime office job and after a month I knew for sure that my fulltime job was costing me more in terms of what i could make on cam than I was making from that job. this was on chaturbate and after i left my job i had a few slow nights and panicked which made me look into other sites and sources of income within the adult industry (there are so many ways to earn a living from "porn") i found streamate and all my fears were gone, i won't cam on any other site at this point and will encourage any model that's willing to work at it to try streamate, be different, exciting, and work your niche as best as you can and you'll get fans that will support.

Ms. Management and I have cammed sort of inconsistently for the last couple of months but I think we're gonna try and go full-time starting... now.

unforseen circumstances have just managed to push us to our first $500 week, and it feels good. better yet it feels sustainable with quite a bit of upside.

so let's say it took us 3 months. and let's all hope this is actually a success story.

eta: we perform on streamate, in case you were curious.
