Canadian EFT takes a long time to arrive now. Why is that?

Ever since the scandal with MassPay in March, every time I request a payout it takes an entire week for me to receive it! I’ve been with CB for 4 years and up until now I was able to receive my funds in 1-2 days. The thing I don’t understand is that the email I get from support confirming my payment was sent ALWAYS has it written that it will take 1-2 days for the money to hit my bank account even though it’s NEVER the case. I emailed them about this and never got a response. What’s going on here? Is this a Canada thing now? Also, if you’re a streamer on CB and also located in Canada, what is the payment option you like to use to receive your funds fast? Thank you for the help.

Hello. The email from support with the ticket number you provided only pertained to when my latest payout was sent, it didn’t mention any of the questions I’ve made about how long it’s been taking to receive Canadian EFT. I would like to know why they tell me it’s gonna take 1-2 days but in reality it takes 5 business days. They need to fix the email because it is very misleading and incorrect, I also asked what form of payment would be faster and no one got back to me about that.

same here, and I didn’t receive a payment for the 15 of April - end of May yet. Maybe has something to do with changing my account payout limit on the second. Luckily I have savings. Hoping for a swift fix. Don’t want another daytime job on top of streaming again 🤦‍♀️
I’m sorry to hear that. It’s very stressful to not receive payment in time. I truly hope they fix this because it feels like a regular job as of now, the whole “daily payout” system doesn’t seem to be working for Canadian creators because it literally takes an entire week for the money to come.

take a trip to the US to open two or three bank accounts minimum. do a 2 day trip, make it fun. that way you can accept ACH from sites and then transfer to your CA bank account(s) or withdraw as CAD at an ATM in CA

if you go south of the border, open more than one account. the war on adult in banking is unfortunately very real, and whether you get flagged has a lot to do with the discretion of the biz names paying you. ideally open at least one account with a credit union, they tend to be less draconian. the cost of the trip will even out in you not paying ridiculous fees with 3rd party services quite quickly

Masspay are a joke, never used them but heard enough horror stories. seems like they pay out when they feel like doing so. I call bull when it takes more effort to receive money than to earn it in the first place

wish ya good luck

Thank you very much for the reply, I appreciate all of the info you have given me. It’s about time I open a bank acc in the states, it’s a great idea. Thanks again.

Having a U.S. Bank account isn't enough as you need a U.S. address as well, which is the problem I ran into when I tried using my U.S. bank account as a payout option. I even messaged support and they informed me that it was only available to U.S. residents.

It really sucks that they switch to using a flat fee, as Bitcoin was the easiest and fastest payout option for Canadians before the change.

I dunno about the whole BTC thing but you def don't need a US address to open a US bank account (again, preferably more than one cuz adult)

I'm dual JA CA citizenship. born and raised in Canada. have three US bank accounts, 2 personal, one tied to a US-based LLC that was super cheap to create and maintain. not every bank has the same rules prolly but for Canadians it's really easy to open an account (biz or personal) without a US address. just shop around

if you're in Nigeria (guess based on your handle?) that's a little bit more of a commitment trip than just skipping across the border to NYC or, in the Caribbean over to Miami, which is such a short flight I didn't even experience the trauma of a nic fit

ya gotta go to open the accounts in person. but personal accounts absolutely doable w/o US address. just bring bank statements, CA (or wherever) proof of address, certified scan of passport, actual passport, contact info of primary relation. they didn't ask for my blood type, that might have changed. PITA but absolutely doable

I hope this helps

You need the address to give to CB, not for the U.S. bank account, which you don't need to go to the U.S. to open (I have a U.S. account with RBC), which is the issue I ran into when I tried this a few years back. Also I am Canadian, born and Raised.

oh, ok I misunderstood your situation, sorry bout that. and holla fellow Canuck!

so it's CB's rule to not pay out ACH to non-US residents even if they have a US bank account? that is absolutely bizarre, we live in an international world. I wonder if an American living elsewhere could receive USD ACH? not pertinent here to the OP's or your situation but the idea is crazy

I dunno, good luck OP, I am sorry I couldn't be of any help regarding CB, but for everything else get 2 or 3 US bank accounts.

thanks Prince for clarifying CB's strange rules

back here cuz CB not accepting a US bank account owned by a non-US resident doesn't make sense. I could be totally wrong regarding the policy, perhaps @punker barbie could you clarify?

a Canadian USD account is not the same as a US-based bank account. CA USD accounts do not have a routing number that works with ACH. it's gotta be an actual US-based account to receive ACH

Ms Punker. question on behalf of those affected by masspay ineptitude. if a non-US resident performer has a US bank account, located in the US, with an account number and routing number, can they get paid via ACH?

Canadian banks have branches in the USA so the US dollar accounts are issued from those branches. What @Nigerian Prince is saying is that CB wants the user to have a US address to issue funds to US based accounts. Has nothing to do with the banks CB wants a US residential address

What form of payment have you been using since you’re also Canadian? I tried Wire and Canadian EFT but both take a long time to arrive and the fee for Wire is high. I’m looking for a better option because I’m tired of waiting 5 business days to get paid, any insight is much appreciated. Thank you!

I started out using Bitcoin (EFT wasn't available when I started) and used the ShakePay app to receive all payments, as you can instantly convert to CAD and e-transfer all funds. That was until they changed the fees to be a flat amount which made it too expensive once the price of Bitcoin rose past a certain point. I switched to EFT later on but I also haven't cammed for some time now.

Same, and their flat rate btc fee is insane compared to the actual network fees, I do wish they would add in support for other crypto's but if they have fee's like they do for btc it would be kind of pointless imo.
I switched from BTC to skrill, skrills been fine, no issues but tbh I prefer the transparency on crypto payments.

A lot of sites wont pay out to a US account if you are not a US resident, it's not just chaturbate.

^^^that is madness. considering that we live in an international world

since @punker barbie hasn't weighed in I'll assume y'all are correct. I don't work cb as I don't have the patience for token sites, but I do aff work for a bunch of cam sites. I just never pushed cb as token sites tend not to work with my traffic. I've NEVER encountered a site that had an issue sending ACH to a me as a non-resident, that's why I really thought this was a 'policy' was just a mistake in interpretation

anyway, gracias Prince, Darth and Marti. very helpful info

5 days is a long wait for a simple EFT but I guess if BTC is excessively costly it's the best option? almost $9 per withdrawal is unduly high though

wow, mind blown, makes NO sense. sorry fellow CA'ers, that sucks :/

Its better than the almost $55 fee that cb charge for btc atm, even though the average transaction fee for the network is only between 1 and 2 at the minute 😂

Thanks for joining the conversation. Are you in Canada as well? I don’t know how I feel about using Skrill because I had a terrible experience with ePayments on Chaturbate back in 2019, and since then have stayed away from e-wallets like skrill, Paxum, cosmo, etc.
How long does it take for you to receive your funds through Skrill? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks again!

not in Canada, but outside of the us.
on skrill if I do a daily payout request normally about 6-10 hours after they close the day (which is when they do the payment run), at the period end normally about that time on the 17th

crypto is by far the safest option, even with banks you have the same risks as e-wallet services (I have lost so much money from banks closing accounts and not giving access to funds it's not even funny), if someone else is in control of the account holding your money then it's not safe. But cb's crypto fee imo is just insane

I've always had problems with masspay but I'm still with them. I also use cosmopayement which works relatively well but it's not 24h trasnfert, but you can order a credit card associated with your account which is instatanné.
