Collab Advice

Hey all!

About 5 years ago I was doing cam shows with a partner. We were good friends who decided to try it and see what happens. We made really good money for awhile. But, eventually she found a boyfriend and, understandably, he wasn’t too keen on letting her continue with that line of work. Especially with another man.

I’ve been wanting to get back into camming but, I really don’t know how to find a collab partner. I don’t want to come off as “creepy” or a “perv”. It’s just something I really enjoyed doing and it’s a shame my partner had to quit.

Any advice on navigating back into this would be appreciated!

It's a little weird that you're clearly the dude in the "collab" but you included what I imagine is your ex partner's photo in your avatar. Pretty disrespectful, IMO.

Okay? I can replace it. But, the picture is both of us. It was our profile picture when we were camming together.

I would never have used it if I didn’t already have her permission. I’m not using it for my “brand” I’m using it because that’s the type of content I’ve created and am looking to continue creating.

We get approached from guys wanting to collab all of the time. Someone would have to be just starting out like you, and really into you to be interested in that.

1) I've been doing this 13 years, guys used to write me several times weekly, opening themselves up for "collabs", so I stopped listing my email on lots of the sites. It's not worth my time even responding. Time is money when you are self-employed, and it is your greatest resource.

2) Now guys spend $90 on a long show with me, getting to know me, and talking about a future of collabs (still doesn't work off the bat, but a way smarter move, that communicates more serious intent, and not a dude looking for charity/ pity).

3) I can't speak for other performers. However, I have personally spent 13 years building my expertise in marketing, video editing, sales, personal care and pampering, boundary setting, finance, photography, and the list goes on. I would never offer all that I've worked for up, to a stranger who wants to "collab". That's a whole business. I would have to have spent time building a "consistent business relationship" with them, where they demonstrated over the long term, the talents and reliability that they had to bring to me, that would bring me in MORE money. Save ME more time. It's obvious, already, what I could bring to them, but what would be the advantage of my working with them? What are they going to do for me and my business?

Looking for an established model to work with is going to be a lot more difficult. Maybe a newer model really into guys and dick, but even then you need to pay them imo to shoot w you. Or demonstrate that you are going to do a lot more work than simply being a stunt dick. Because a lot of women do just fine on their own and can make as much or more. If they can make it past the 1st year and all the craziness involved/ abuse/ people looking to exploit them for personal gain.

There are way more barriers to entry and there is way higher competition than there was 5, 10 or 15 years ago.. Even back then 90% of people gave up before the end of the 1st year.

To make it in this digital economy you have to bring people a lot more than simply some pulchritude, that's not where people are at anymore, everyone is way more needy because the world is a mess socially.
