Every time I see one of your posts, I immediately hear Jack Burton's voice.

"Just remember what ol’ Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol’ storm right square in the eye and he says, “Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it.'"
Was one of my favorite movies as a kid

I am so confused on whether I missed a joke or someone else missed one lol
Lol, I might have mixed it missed it*. In my mind I was imagining all these crazy yuppies going in and ordering fancy drinks from Dan, with extra this and that, and two pumps of crap, just to shove them up their asses. Which, honestly, I wouldn't put past certain crowds of easily influenced individuals 😆

I was a barista at a very rich resort. There's nothing quite like getting up at 3am, rushing to get ready and to a place on time, at such an ungodly hour. Then being faced with a line already 20 people long, pretty much each one with a 7 step coffee order. It's a great workout for your shoulders and arms, and brain. Because if you want to annihilate the line fast, you gotta be super focused, and super fast yourself.

But, Holy shit, is it weird.
ETA; This was the upper class - on vacation (?!?!?!)

A friend called me in a state of excitement and said he'd figured out how to become a multi-squillionaire:
Devise a new disinfectant that can kill off the 0.1% of germs that all the others seem unable to kill off.
He was nearing the end of outlining the business plan to hire a bunch of chemists before I stopped laughing.

LOL. Talk about a niche market. Customers who are not only afflicted with the rarest forms of bacteria, but have also successfully identified that as their problem.

Are the "murder hornets" gone now? I read something like they just disappeared.

Cuz I have a giant flying thing that looks like one in my garage this evening...
we have all the doors open now hoping he just finds his way out, we don't wanna get too close to try and take him out. at least not at the moment.

According to Wikipedia, they've been eradicated from the PNW as of last year. Could be stragglers, or could be a different kind of terror-bug. Homicide wasp? Yellowjacket Assassin?

It was a big loud mofo! I think the open doors did the trick, it seems all quiet on the front again. :D

Never let Gmail build up with millions of emails because when you finally decide you want to clean it up it's a nightmare. For every million emails I have it takes like a day and special tools to put it in the trash folder and if I want to empty the trash early it's another day. The worst part of it is that they penalize you for taking so many actions and your email slows to a crawl everything from loading the emails to receiving them is delayed.

This functionality is built into gmail, you use the select all checkbox and then it gives you a message like this:

Then you can just click select all and delete. I did it on an account with something like 30k emails a few days ago, took about 10 mins for it to have everything deleted.

Is there any harm in just letting it build up? I have some massive inboxes right now because I never clear them out. I haven’t noticed any performance issues on my end.

Does absolutely nothing for millions of emails it's as if the server just drops the request.

No I guess not only when the day comes when you want to clean it up

Edit: aside from storage limitations

you sure it's not just doing them in batches?

tbh I'm not sure I would even bother at 1m emails, I would proberly just make a new account 😂

Same. Although I know some people who need to have a clean, empty-ish inbox or else it bothers them. They have trouble focusing and stuff.

I’m not that way. If I get an email I don’t care about - or that has outlived its relevance - I can ignore it forever without a second thought.

Yeah that's what I thought that surely if I wait I'll see it done in batches but no it just gives up.
we think it's a script, behind the scenes it's a minimum wage worker who just goes "fuck this, delete your own emails" 😂
