Love how cat people are like “LOOK AT MY CAT!!!! ISN’T HE THE MOST PERFECT, BABIEST BABY ANGEL WHO HAS EVER EXISTED IN THE ENTIRE WORLD?!” And the cat is just sitting there chilling like “…oh, you’re talking about me?”.

Btw, it’s me I’m talking about. I am cat person.

But seriously, look at his perfect lil face!

Your cat is absolutely adorable and he looks like a giant oreo. Where did you get him from? Was it a rescue or did you buy him from a seller on like craigslist? What is his name? How long have you had him for?

He's a cutie patootie and I hope that you get him lots of cute pet toys for christmas. :)

His name is Finn! And his brother is Jake, so we’re all the Adventure Time crew hahaha. I’m really big on “adopt, don’t shop”, so I adopted both of them from an animal shelter in my hometown over four years ago. They were about 7-8 months old when I adopted them and they had been in the shelter for a couple months at that point. Which is so crazy to me that they were there for that long, because they are the best cats ever. The moment I met them I was in love and just knew I had to adopt them.

And, I’m really happy I did, because aside from them bringing so much happiness into my life, Finn probably would’ve passed away in the shelter. He had a pretty serious health condition when I adopted him that the shelter didn’t disclose. Whether they knowingly kept it from me or they just wasn’t aware of it, I don’t know. But he started presenting symptoms within a week of me adopting him and it was a pretty rare thing and it took me bringing him to multiple different vets before they figured out what was going on and did the surgery which definitely saved his life.

Basically, he had scar tissue almost completely covering up his urethra. The most common cause of this is when a litter of kittens are orphaned or abandoned by the mother while they’re still nursing and some of the litter mates will essentially “nurse” on each other. That causes scar tissue down there. The vet who finally properly diagnosed him told me that the majority of the time it goes undiagnosed and the kitten usually passes away early on because urinary blockages are incredibly fatal in cats. The only reason why he survived was because he had a tiny pinpoint in the scar tissue that allowed urine to pass through, so it wasn’t a complete blockage, but it still caused a lot of bladder issues.

All the other vets I had taken him to thought it was a bladder infection or urinary crystals that was causing his symptoms and was giving him medicine that wasn’t helping.

Thankfully, I did reach out to the shelter when the symptoms kept persisting and they paid for him to be brought to the only vet in my home state that specialized in cat urology, who was the only vet who immediately guessed that could be the issue. He was a wonderful vet and he performed a surgery to remove just the scar tissue (whereas from what I found out during the time, most other surgical vets would have probably just removed his entire parts which would have resulted in a life of medical issues).

Anyway, Finn hasn’t had any issues since, and I’m so happy that I adopted him, because I don’t know if many other people would have gone to the lengths I did to make sure he was okay.

Sorry for the novel, I absolutely love my cats and can talk about them all day!

Is the cute tax an ACF thing? Or like a Reddit thing? I've always wondered about that?
I've only ever heard it here, but there's a lot of internet culture stuff I missed out on, so that doesn't necessarily mean it's an ACF thing/ started here.

What's the history of cute tax?
(I'm aware that some of you here may have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about hahaha, but many will know too).

Cat tax is definitely a general internet thing, and it is pretty common on Reddit! Because everyone wants to see cute cat pictures, especially if you’re talking about your cats hahaha.

I've always been a sucker for a happy cat story, and I really needed this lift right now, so thank you @Marceline for sharing the delightful photos of your little guys!
I hesitated before replying to this, as I didn't want to take away from the positives. But I just farewelled an old friend, he passed unexpectedly yesterday after being with me for almost 19 years.
He was a rescue as a very young kitten, an Egyptian Mau whom the breeder dumped just because his colouring was mixed (smoke silver/bronze), rather than one or the other.
Cats give me so much joy, every one has a different nature but they sure leave their mark on their lucky custodian!!!
To all the cat owners out there, please give yours an extra-special cuddle :h:

I am so so sorry to hear about your kitty. He was a cutie and very lucky to have someone who loved him and took care of him so well for almost 19 years.

Cats really are amazing, and imo they’re the best companions. It’s always really tough when they cross the rainbow bridge (I had one kitty who passed away around the time I got my boys, and it was very tough), but you have to remember all the good times and that you were able to give them the best life possible.

Oh yeah, there are so many happy memories that make me smile!
Rescue animals have a way of finding me, so while I'm not thinking about the next one, it probably won't be all that far away :)
I planted a tree where he now rests in his favourite sleepy spot in the back yard, and will enjoy tending to it.

Now. Today's daily thought.
Recent reports of the Citrus-in-Chief's proposal to require visitors from a number of nationalities to provide 5 years of their social media history for review, in consideration of a visitor visa application.
Not everyone uses social media. What happens in the example where you declare you don't use it, have never used it? Instant decline of visa application, on the grounds of BS? In other words, how do you prove you never did something, rather than there being evidence confirming you did?

Tangent, but this bugs me about everything requiring phone number verification. Outside of verification I actually have very little use for a phone number. Went so long without adding credit to my phone because I just dont use it so never thought about it that my number got recycled..., (I could get it back if I signed a 3 year contract for 50 euros a month though...FML) that was a huge pain in the ass because of everything requiring phone number verification because they want to send a text to the old number to authorize the update to the new number... pretty sure I havnt even changed everything over, bound to be something I forgot about that I'll go to log into one day and it will be like "We sent a text to your phone to verify your identity", and you can bet it will be a site that requires you to be logged in to contact support 😂

I'm in the same boat but also need a new phone. My current model is a Samsung S9. Yes, not a typo. I'm literally 16 generations behind.

Same, I have a oneplus 7t and they just released the 15, still not planning on upgrading it though, it does everything I need without issue except hold a charge for more than a couple of hours, so I need to order a new battery and a hot air station to get the glass back off without cracking it... miss the days when you could take the back off a phone and just change the battery.

Have a oneplus 3t too which still works perfectly, just need to re-adisive the screen back down, maybe change out the display while I am at it because I have the lovense app burned into the screen because my lovense would disconnect if I turned the screen off, so if I open a white page it looks like I opened the lovense app because the pink burnt in really bad. Only reason I upgraded was for the better camera tbh, like I wouldnt have an issue switching back to that phone now, I actually prefer it because it's not as tall, so it balances better in the hand (7t is top heavy because of the extra length and the camera)

Daily thought… why did I wait so long to try camming again! Ugh Streamate being banned rn in NC is pissing me off. I’ve never done any other sites so I’m nervous.

I saw you mentioned you were on "CS" in your welcome post, I'm drawing a blank as to what that stands for.

CB, MFC, and SC are all the most popular token sites, all very different in their interfaces and learning curves vary. But it will all come to you if you have patience.

Welcome back to the cam game! Looking forward to ACF being able to answer questions about whatever sites you end up on.

Hey, it is so scary. I'd be more than happy to walk you through getting started on Chaturbate. I've been a model there for 12 years, 13 years this coming March. You're more than welcome to use the affiliate link in my signature to create an account there. I don't charge models for helping them but using my link helps me.

CamSoda! My friend irl has had some success on there. The whole situation makes me nervous though because I’m looking to supplement my full time job, and I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to dedicate 10+ hours a week and newer sites are always a gamble!

I’ve never looked into CB… I may just have to take you up on this since CamSoda is a token site too so I’d assume they’re fairly similar?

so I’d assume they’re fairly similar?
Correct but there's way less pressure on CB than there is on CamSoda. There's also flexibility with apps and fine tuning shows that other sites just don't have but CB does.

I'm not a model, but as just one example, the model I visit regularly on Chaturbate split-streams on Bonga, Stripchat and Camsoda too.
She makes about 90% of her earnings on CB. While those other sites generate pretty good viewer numbers, there is very little conversion of those numbers to tips, for the exact same show, goals, tip menu and private rate.
On the few occasions I've gone to her room on Camsoda (when CB is down) I find the whole vibe of the site membership seems a whole lot more entitled, rude and demanding, and a-hole behaviour in general is far more evident than on CB.
