has anyone ever been contacted on instagram to be featured on their website?
I was emailed about 3 days ago from a plus size dating website and they want to use my photo in their campaign. Im not sure about it.
Can anyone give me some advice please?

Thank you!

Did they offer to pay you? If not, don't do it. If yes, check out their current marketing materials. Do you agree with the message/feel comfortable having your face in that type of marketing? There's your answer.

There is not a lot of work within the mainstream industry for plus size women unless your boobs are like 46DDD and your IQ is 52 so its very rare to find a good company that specializes in that. There are a lot of scam artists within the mainstream industry and even within the webcamming industry so always do your research when being contacted by a company like the one that found you. Did this company offer a website? Never trust a company that does not have a website because if they cant shell out $19.95 a month for something like web hosting, chances are they cant pay you and you will be working for free. Never trust someone who only advertises on a place like craigslist because that company more than likely is not a film company but rather a front for prostitution or escorting. Did this company offer you any legitimate references of performers that have worked with in the past or even other companies that they might be affiliated with? You know so you can research them and find out if this is a legitimate offer. Was it a pop up company that contacted you or a company that sounds like it might be established? Because that fella who contacted like you from a place like plumperpass could just be some asshole in his basement with a video camera and a feeder fetish. Did the company offer to pay for your travel or do they want you to pay for your own? Usually if they cant afford to shell out $150 to $300 for something as simple as a megabus ticket, they are not going to pay for the work that you do and you might be put in a pretty dangerous situation. I once got offered $200 to go to California and shoot a video in a rundown hotel but I would have had to have paid my own travel and I didnt do it cause I got common sense and I am broke. I once got an offer to move to California and do porn but it was mostly going to be escorting and I would have had to live with several other girls while supposedly making like $2,000 a week and I didnt do it cause the thought of a criminal record scares the shit out of me, didnt want to relocate for work, and the owner was extremely verbally abusive over the phone. I would much rather be independent and do the cam thing and the pso thing than work with someone who scares the living piss out of me everyday. If you really want to work with this company, I would strongly advise to do your research. I dont care if you have to google this company or even try to find them in a phone book, just be safe now than sorry later because that really good offer could just be someone that is looking to put you in a bodybag. Good luck hun.

Hey ladies thank you so much for responding. its for wooplus a bbw dating site. a woman emailed me and asked me if i would hashtag one of my photos with their slogan and theyd use that photo on their site to promote body positive vibes with my consent, so im guessing i would put it in writing.
she sent me links from different sites (listed below) and told me I might be interviewed by the press.
sounds like a scam? should i ask for copyright? money?
heres the links she provided..

Absolutely ask for money. You don't use the app, why would you promote it for free (if it all)? I'm sure it's a fine app and it's nice that they asked you (my photos are floating around on a bunch of those sites without my permission). But why would you do press for a site you don't use, and why would you give them your pictures for free if they're going to profit off of them?

They're just asking for free promotion. They should absolutely be offering you money if they're going to use your image.

Ladies, thank you again for responding!
I have an update...
I told them i wasn't so comfortable with them using my photo on their website without compensation and they emailed back asking if i could share my ideas of what compensation should be. I have never done this, nor do I kno what I should tell them.
Please advise :shy:

Honestly, I wouldn't do it. I've been offered many many things from guys on instagram and whether they're real offers or not I would question how it would be beneficial in the long run. I wouldn't want my pictures on a dating site or affiliating with that because:

1. Men can be dumb and will think YOU are date-able & possibly annoy you while on cam if they see you on both a dating site advertisement and a camsite. (You don't have any camsites linked but I'm assuming you're a camgirl or in the adult industry)
2. Dating site vs an adult site have different audiences. I'd be worried about being outed that way from a more mainstream audience.
3. I don't think anyone could pay me enough for them to be able to use my images forever. It could blow up and end up not being worth the $$ they paid you to begin with.
4. My general rule with different projects are if I'm even slightly weirded out I won't do it. I've had 2 professional people including one popular online magazine perv out on me and make me uncomfortable so gut instinct is important here.

You want a say in what happens to your photos. You want to sign a contract that says you still have ownership of said photos along with said company. You want to be paid everytime they use your photo to promote their business. You want at least $450 to $600 everytime that your image is used.

Agreed. I just wish guys (this includes photographers doing these online "model contests" using photos of models they've never actually shot with...smh) would stop using/publishing our photos in their articles or blogs, etc. without permission. I mean, there are websites with copyright-free stock photos...get photos from there, and stop taking ours...

Google things like "contract for using model photographs" and "company wants to use my photo." I'm betting there are 1) premade contracts you can use to protect your rights/outline your agreement and 2) forums dedicated to modeling with advice from girls who have been approached like this (much like ACF is a forum with camgirls giving camgirls advice). Good luck and YES get money for it!

Sidenote, I wonder if they know you're a camgirl?

Do some camsites share or sell information about their models to other companies?

Not sure about that, I wouldn't think so because they'd be selling information about their independent contractors. I'm betting there's some rule about companies not giving away their employee's personal information. But who knows.

Actually though, I asked if WooPlus knows FullFig is a camgirl because that might change their position. Sensual attractive plus sized girl on Instagram...perhaps she's an aspiring model! Realistically speaking, I don't think they'd ask to use her image/promote them on IG if they knew she did porn.

Some companies do but its illegal because that is an invasion of privacy.

It's only illegal if they do it without your consent (and also depending on the local laws), but the vast majority of companies will have an item on their terms of service covering that which states that by agreeing to use their service, you allow them to share some data with third parties which usually covers the legality part.
