Are you one of those crazy pet owners that buys Christmas gifts for your animals? I buy for my dogs, including the foster dogs from the rescue. This year though everyone had vet appointments at the same time,so they are getting the great gift of health after I spent $1400 in vet bills. The dogs did get some smoked hand cut bones from the butcher and my cats are getting a new tree,so they did get something 'fun'.

My dogs always get presents. They get birthday parties too. I have no shame in saying that. Baby on the way or not, they'll always be my babies and they came first so I enjoy spoiling them. Plus, if I didn't do Christmas for them, most years we just wouldn't have Christmas at all. BJ and I usually don't do anything for each other, so doing stuff for them is fun for me.

Birthdays are funner than Christmas though. I usually buy a pack of organic doggie cupcakes from Petco, dress them in a cute outfit and take their picture while I sing to them. Me being excited gets them excited. After I sing to them, I let them take their pick of all of the treats I got for them and then just leave them be with said treats for the rest of the day. Sometimes we make it super special and take them to the park or something. Sammy's first birthday is the 28th though so we'll probably just stay inside instead of going to the park.

My baby's going to be 1 in 4 days. :crybaby:

Great thread...

I have 2 cats at Xmas they get a pouch of the most expensive cat food I can find and a box of favourite cat treats. On there birthdays they get the same but I also drop off a case of cat food to the cat rescue centre I got them from with a card saying thanks for finding me a home with there name on it. :-D

yup, my kitty got a red and green christmas-themed ball-with-feathery-tail toy, two mouse toys with christmas hats and scarves, a frisbee, and a 6 pack of turkey fancy feast which kind of counts as junk food lol.

Surprisingly, I didn't actually buy anything for Christmas for my dog this year--but my girlfriend and I didn't really exchange gifts, either.

Our family on the other hand...

Her father bought our dog about $70 worth of stuff. Got him a $22 long rawhide bone, new collar, treats, a knuckle bone, and some toys. My Uncle bought him a cow femur bone that is too heavy for him to drag with him weighing about 80 lbs, now. My aunt and grandmother got him a bunch of treats and a $50 gift card to the pet store.

So... he was a REALLY spoiled dog this year. I think he got more stuff than me or my girlfriend did.

First year I didn't buy anything for my cats. Fortunately for them my cat crazy sister did. :-D

I LOVE spoiling my animals. I have two kitties that each got a can of squishy cat food, live catnip plants, and little rattley fuzzy mice.
My dog got a doggy stocking with 8 toys in it (that he destroyed within an hour), a big meaty bone, and a few little rawhides. He even has his own toy box for all his crap and he knows to pick up his toys and put them back in the box =D They're my kids, and I spend more on my fuzz balls than myself lol.
