Could be german shepherd. With the ears it could also be an akita. Or a mutt. I love mutts.

Mutt, chow, very furry German Shepard (unlikely with the short muzzle) or possibly Keeshond. Be careful with a chow, they have major aggression issues IIRC.

Yeppers, Chows can be downright aggressive if not properly socialized, but that can happen with just about any canine.

PROTIP: The only small dogs are hot dogs, everything else under 20 lbs is a rodent. Get a big huge dog that will take up the whole bed and you have to fight over foot room.
