Thanks for posting that, I figured it'd be closer to $90 so I wasn't even going to bother with it.

Mine has been on order for months...
Yeah... I'll confess I was originally just going to slap them on my wishlist and let it happen whenever some holiday came up. I *might* have season 1 and 2 as 720p .mkv videos I can stream to my PS3 from my computer any time I want. Made the Blurays desirable but not mandatory.

Ok I am in the UK and I am in a place where it’s not economic to get subscription TV so for till the 1 April I have caught up with series 2. So deprived guy and I love the show and books so much. Did a session on a day off to watch series 2 first 8 episodes were very slow new characters and not moving it on so much, I thought series 1 lagged a bit but in comparison it zipped through.................but oh episode 9 and 10 were worth waiting for. Taking out of it all:

I think the male characters are just there to “fuck and fight” really all the wonderful written is the girls (but Tyrion Lannister did have some great one liners). So strong and also mirrored there is good girls you guess the Stark girls and Danny? And bad girls oh boo hiss could I say a sort of queen girl and Joffery’s new squeeze...............

I think all the girls are key to the story line things to come:

2 magical characters Stannis squeeze witch girl and Danny only 2 with magic. Friend or foe? Witch is dark but worship fire, mother of dragons can make fire? Do they fight or come together?

I so like to see Brienne of Tarth don’t know where that story is going but I have my own thoughts.

Arya Stark............she is the key!! Look at the alliances she is forming she has an assassin in her debt from the land of her “dancing master”. She is travelling with the one true heir the black smith son is the one true heir of Robert and he is her mate. Does she do what her father did and fight the war and put him on the throne? No matter what I am sure when the last card is played Ayrya is there knee deep in blood standing for house Stark. She is the avenger of her house I am sure the boys may get cut down but she will have her vengeance.

Now for series 3. Screen writers say they reckon there is 8 series in the material. That sort of bothers me this stuff is not cheap TV to make if ratings bomb or it goes off the boil might not get ending so eh folks keep watching!! Oh yes!!!

Sorry double posts bad boy but if you want to catch up and probably bad again www.hbo.com/game-of-thrones all episodes of series 1 and 2 on it (sorry Amber if you don't like edit or if there is copy stuff I understand).

I too am in the UK and am finding it obsessive viewing, i'm putting off the books for now as ive got involved and don't want to spoil it either way

I was absolutely gutted when they killed off Ned Stark, played by the brilliant Sean Bean and thought that it would not recover but it has gone from strength to strength..

You should not have been surprised that a character played by Sean Bean died.

He doesn't die in the Sharpe Series of movies. Fun movies.

I picked up series one on Blu-ray here in Australian for $29 with special presentation box, bonus special edition of series 2 episode 1, and replica Dragon's Egg! (that I think was worth the price of the whole box!)

Can't wait for the new series to start! Being a huge Doctor Who fan to, 31st of March is looking like a good television day!

Reminder: This show is an adaptation of the books. It was never supposed to be a faithful rendering to the screen. The author himself has written for tv for many years, writes some of the episodes and is an producer on the show. I got the impression when I met him, that he is happy with where the show has gone and is OK with the changes they have made..thats enough for me even if some of them im like @_@ woah wait, what. I just view them as two different experiences.. the show inspired by and adapted from the books..

Finishing up the fourth book. I am really thinking the TV series is being remarkable faithful to the books.
on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being a porn production of Cinderella (don't ask :D) and 10 being the Royal Shakespeare company performing Hamlet, I think GOT is an 8.

I am just so excited that a new season is starting, and my cable operated picked this weekend to provide Free HBO preview.

Meaning I have a whole another week to find a legal, inexpensive way to watch it.. Any suggestions?

Not a coincidence, I assure you.

Really impressed with the opener, It must be difficult to run so many strands of a story and keep it as entertaining as it is, picked up on each and every one effectively

So much good TV at the moment, Game of Thrones, Blue Bloods, Chicago Fire, Revolution

I waited for over a year and was not disappointed. This episode was amazing. I can't wait until tomorrow (tonight, if you don't go off of my, "tomorrow starts when I wake up, not when midnight hits" style of time-keeping) to see the second episode!

Im not a Tv person, but 1 week ago i saw a bit of Game of Thrones , and i get so addicted that i had to see all the episodes. :geek: :geek: :geek:
Just missing now season 3 that will start tomorow in my country.
That Jon Snow.... Oh my Gosh

is it weird of me that the only thing I wanted to see, when I was watching the scene, was a fool singing a song about a bear and a maiden fair?

You'll see that this season. Obviously since they moved the Queen of Thornes/Marg/Sansa scene outdoors, it wasn't necessary there, but I'm betting we'll hear that song in at least 1 if not 2 other scenes this season.

Loving Diana Rigg as Lady Olenna, though. Her performance is pretty spot on. Still, it would've been awesome if they had Butterbumps.
