I've had good results in the past choosing a location after checking the different global CB servers using this link below.
It only uses the CB server network to test your speed, so it's a far better indicator of site performance.
The best performance is often not your nearest geographical server location, which CB will default to (or recommend) unless you change it. But can vary from day to day.

When broadcasting you should always use our global load balanced url unless you get a better upload to a specific PoP.
