Surprised me that there was no thread here for GT5, so thought i would start one. I know its not to everyone's taste but somewhere in it there is a good game.
Was wondering if any other peeps out there played as well?

Awww shit. I wanna play!

It came out late November iirc. I am dying to get it but hate paying so much money for it. I may bite the bullet when I get back home. In fact, I believe I have decided while writing this response that I will be making a trip with a Best Buy gift-card I received for Christmas to pick it up on Wednesday.

is it finally out? The prologue came out like 3 -4 years ago.
As mirra said GT5 did come out end of November, and yes it has taken quite some years get this far.

Yeah... Gran Turismo is wicked awesome. For anyone who didn't know, I've heard you'll be able to 'keep' any cars you've earned from GT5: Prologue including the Citroen GT.
Unfortunately, you can't keep cars from the prologue, there is an option to import up to 50 cars from the PSP version, but since i don't own a PSP I can't go into any more details on that.

And finally, a mini-review;
  • Graphics are astonishing, as would be expected on a modern release.
  • Audio is impressive, driving sounds and engine notes are believable. Soundtrack is up to the usual standard for Gran Turismo
  • Gameplay is where the game excels, the driving mechanic and the recreation of the dynamic weight are truly genre setting. Anyone who has driven a car aggressively will understand instantly. Of the cars that I have real first hand knowledge, they are all impressively recreated in-game.
  • Included tracks in the game have both real world tracks as well as original circuits, all are well done and the original circuits have some unique features that would not be allowed in a real world scenario.
  • Support and updates are a strong point, and the recently released patch has changed the game for the better. The addition of seasonal events that are only open for a short time give a break to the grinding for credits that the game can degenerate into.
  • The computer AI is the one real downside to this otherwise excellent game, any computer controlled car seems to be oblivious to the player, and will drive into you or push you off a corner. They also have some very strange ideas about braking points.

Overall, I cannot give this game a top score purely because of the appalling AI. But I live in hope that maybe there will be a patch to resolve that.
You may of noticed by now I haven't discussed the multiplayer aspect of GT5, this is because i have not yet played GT5 online, and so can't really comment on it.
