Help ID'ing This Baskets Origins/Makers

I was given this basket years ago, and tho I'm not real into baskets, this one I like. It is obviously pretty old, and I am not sure the black painted markings are original, but they appear to be. Came across it super well packed in some of my stored things - since it was out I thought maybe some one might have some thoughts on it.

That's some funny shit - the sort of thing you wish you had come up with. Thank you, and I think baskets may be the only thing there is less known about than missing Models.
