We were hit with Hurricane Irene and still have many, many power outages in our city. I was without electricity for a day or so and then without tv and internet for like 3 days. Talk about miserable. Even had family staying with me for 2 nights and that was rough since my place is small.
I read there was like 26 deaths so far (that was yesterday I think) that were related to the Hurricane. I mean, if you had a weeks warning and knew the Hurricane was coming, why in the heck are you going to be swimming, or even near the water when the hurricane is near u. (Quite a few of the deaths were related to ppl being in the ocean.) and some others were from people driving during the storm. If the majority of these people that died would have evacuated well ahead of time or just stayed in their homes during the Hurricane, they would still be alive.
I can try and find the more detailed list on all these deaths again if anyone is interested. I feel bad for the kids who ended up being the victim in this as a result of an adults poor judgement.

I love sushi has been without power for 3 days but hangin' in there. She found a hot spot that wasn't too crowded.
It's been since Sunday and I am still without power.
I had a romantic taco bell dinner by candle light last night, and before that it was McDonalds. Subway has been good for me, though. Even tried a new sammich!
We did find a new chill place though. There is this little pond in the ER parking lot (ok, drainage ditch...) that is TEAMING with fat, huge, beautiful dragonflies. We've been there 3 times. Lots of pics, too! At first the pond seemed pretty docile and peaceful, but now we call it the Rape Lake. It's mating season and the females were getting gangbanged in mid air. It was beautiful!
I'm at a place with power now. FINALLY got to shower (ugh...), but I do not have power at my place. Hopefully soon.
