I think the attraction genre varies. To some guys it's a fetish..."ass men," as Jolene explained, but I'm not an ass man at all, but I'd miss derrieres if they were missing. I agree with everything Gen said. Also from the models prospective it is perfectly reasonable to ask somebody schedule a skype, you can do that with a private but you risk the guy taking his tokens to another model. If you do a take a private then the room count goes down. The higher quality audio/video and the way more relaxed feel are a big deal for me, especially for model you've know for a while.

I also think the economics are win/win. A member spending $100 for long private could buy 1200 tokens which is 20 minutes. The model gets $60 which after taxes works out to be maybe $35 A $100 amazon gift card probably gets a 30 minute skype, which yes often run over an extra 5 or 10 counting the set up time but the model is also making almost 3x more . Cause it isn't what you make but what you keep.

Concerning MFC:

FAR FAR better quality than MFC's 320x240 or 640x480 'HD' resolutions-- if she has the right camera, computer speed and internet speeds, 1080p video is very possible. The ability to talk with very little lag (as long as both parties have good internet speed).

This isn't as big of an issue when it comes to sites that have real HD video, like SM, though. SM has at least 720p video and I think some models can go to 1080p if their camera, computer and internet speed allow it... but I am not sure on that part. I know at least many of the high listed models are in 720p, though.

Now, as for my own reason since getting an Xbox One... the video quality and ability to see the model on my big screen TV is a huge plus (for some of the more... fun sized models... it's almost life size). The last few who have been on with me have even said the Kinect's cam is awesome (it is IF you have good lighting, because it is a 1080p camera). Though one did say I must be a cam model myself, since the Kinect does try to focus on your face and uses software to zoom and pan to keep your face in frame... she thought I had a remote. :lol:

Plus I recently updated my internet to 50 mbps download and 25 mbps upload speeds, so Skype works beautifully as long as we both have good internet.
