If the only reason you are reading this is b/c you wanted to see what sort of horse shit I might be spewing tonight, and you don't much care about the dismal state of politics in the U.S. (or don't live in the U.S.), bugger off, Camstory's not high tonight.

I haven't watched your TED, but I wonder what makes you think we "lost" our democracy? What makes you believe we have EVER had a democracy? Yes things have gotten much worse through voter manipulation, re-zoning, and superpacs. But that doesn't mean we have ever had a democracy. When we were first founded (and by we I assume you are referencing the USA) we were a representative democracy, and we still are. The technology now exists to have a popular vote, but the higher ups do not want this, they want to make sure they stay rich and in power. It is an immediate concern and something I would love to fix, just not sure it can be done. I'll go check out the vid now so I can see the part about what we may be able to do about it.
