I was in a model's room and purchased all her vids via tip. Right after I did that, johneyboy974 PMs me asking for the links in exchange for a URL where he claims vids from all models are uploaded. I'll screen cap the PM and post it shortly. Just wanted to put this warning out there.

I'm fairly sure that creating blacklist posts of members isn't allowed on ACF.

I thought that was only for models against members and members against models. In this case it doesn't seem like a blacklist, but more like a "hey, here's who has the videos and he's posting them around places if you need to get yours taken down/etc."

I'm sure Amber can weigh in on this though if she feels it is too much.

Public posts (where members may create a free account and state their defense/case) to call someone out are OK. Blacklists are not to be created in the model's only area for lack of a 2-sided story. ;)

I very much think its a crime that model's media gets used and abused all the time. And I don't have anything against outing obvious scumbags, but I am not sure it does anything to solve the problem. I am programed with "Snitch Bad" too. But bottom line, I'm a little pissed. If I would have known a snitch post would have gathered so many thanks, I would have snitched that day a few months ago when I cared about acf score. This happens to me at least once a month.

I look at it this way - More than a few of my favorite models have severely restricted their activities on sites like MFC because of scumbags like johneyboy974. If I can do anything to restrict his access to material that he clearly isnt mature and/or responsible enough to handle, then I'm going to do it. Not trying to be a WK or a snitch. I just hate when fucktards ruin a good thing.

I agree, Its a sad thing that there are so many creeps that have no integrity as ppl -- just don't give a shit, that they are scumbags. About a year ago a friend told me of two sites that seemed to get a lot of cam model uploads. He said he had found a couple of a model who I was a nightly guest to. Her model name had been changed by one letter so searches, or bot, would miss it. That night I told her. She seemed pleased, and thanked me. I started doing searches of all the models I frequented. Searching for names slightly miss spelled. I almost always found something. Sending very simple mfc mails, stating, 'hey saw this at this site, thought you might want to know', what I got in return more than thanks, was 'yea I know - can't do anything about it'. The tone of some even seemed to suggest, 'why are you bothering me with this' so I stopped bothering.

The tone here is quite different. I'm all for anything that makes things better. Anything that might persuade these scumbag to stop acting like scumbags, but I don't know how you do that when there is no enforcement/penalty for their actions, and they don't care about anyone but themselves? :dontknow:

Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but I'm all for outing anyone that is pirating our material, searching it out, scamming us, etc. Sometimes I wish we did have a blacklist thread, because seriously, fuck those guys. If I can ban someone before they rip me off, good riddance! They have no right to my time/energy/entertainment.

Publicly calling out pirates is different than blacklisting I think. I'm all for it because it's taking away money from the person who made the content/did the show. Even if the person who had their content stolen makes thousands a day, they still have bills to pay and it's not fair to them. :twocents-02cents:

Hi all,

I'll be starting as a model on MFC soon enough ( my model account is already active )and I've been admiring all of you
delightfull ladies for the past 9 months... I've been gathering info on everything from toys, what guys like, routines etc tec
Really been doing my homework and gathering a sort of following selling panties, Sexting, etc etc...

So... I've talked to my bf about making vids and selling them online and my worries about them getting distributed. I know that live
recording is hard to control but has for trying to control/protect my vids of being swapped my bf came up with the idea
of putting the recipients names directly on the videos.

I know it's not has easy as just giving your link, but like he should me, it takes 3-4 mins to re-encode them each time. True i've
yet to experience it myself, but if you come accross your vids and that a members name is on it, you got material there for liability
of distribution....

You run the risk of them just re-framing or covering up the name. Plus they could just start a new account if they wanted to be dicks about bothering you. Have you considered putting your model info in the corner, so if your video does get stolen you can try to get it taken down or at least potentially gain new customers?

Also, its not a matter of "if"... its "when" its uploaded...
Don't forget your private sessions also. I've seen many of them that the member has "shared" or sold to other members that end up in the tubes. Having the @MFC thing in on window is about the only thing you can do for groups and chat recording.
I must say tho, I do like the idea of the members name on the vid. Maybe even if verbally sold to be a "lil bonus" for the member, paint it on the inside of your thigh or someplace that wont easily be blocked without really messing with the vid. The only stumbling block to labeling each pre shot vid is your time. 3-4 minutes per is fine, until you have a batch of them running into hours of re-encoding instead of a few minutes. You're also sure to run into the very impatient asshats that expect the vid within seconds of purchase. Good luck Candy!!

If I can play Devil's Advocate for a minute (and risk getting my ass verbally kicked in the process :?) - could it be argued that screencaps (or even videos) of private shows showing up on porn sites, while understandably frustrating, might not be the worst thing that could happen to a cam girl?
Videos and photo sets that have been produced with the intent to sell are one thing - if they show up on other sites, that can cost a cam girl the earnings she might have otherwise made from those videos and photo sets - but with videos and screencaps from private shows, any money the cam girl was ever going to make off of that show, has already been made.
Also, if some dood perusing a porn sites comes across a screencap or video of a private and likes the look of the model, that could theoretically MAKE that model some money if he then tracks her down (assuming her name is on a watermark on the video) and takes her private himself.

Anyway, I'm not trying to tell you that you shouldn't be annoyed by your private shows being shared without your permission (clearly you should be) but at the same time, here be a platter of food for thought, yo :)

To be honest, I don't think it's worth the effort.
Depending on how long your video is / how big your file is, it'll take even longer than 3-4 mins to edit, render and/or save the video every time you put in a new member's name.
Like someone already said, some members will want to have their video immediately after tipping you for it! Then if they don't get it within 10 seconds, they'll shout SCAM and WHERES MY VIDEO???!!!!! in public chat. It hasn't happened to me personally, but I've seen it happen in other girls' rooms. I wouldn't want to risk that.

Also, if you find your video with the member's name online, what do you do with that knowledge? All you can do is ban the jerk from your room and never sell anything to him again, but if he's the type of member who uploads your video somewhere else, he won't care much if you like him or not.

First off lemme say i love your name, and hate it too cause now i want candy lol. And second welcome to camming!! Third no amount of research and watching will truly prepare you for what youre in for here. Just a heads up.

As others said here putting a watermark can easily be cropped out as youre not gonna put it across the vid or anything. Instead id just put your own watermark along the bottom so hopefully they wont crop it out and WHEN someone uploads it and others can find you.
Now you also could just not sell videos. But that can hurt your potential earnings of course. So what you could do is only do custom vids. Ones where you call out the members name during. However ive seen vids with no sound to them when girls have done this, so that wont always work either.
During cam time you could also easily be taped, and privates make it easier for that, so then you again just put a small watermark for MFC and hope they dont crop it out when uploading it elsewhere.
Basically camming at all means its only a matter of time before someone steals your content in some way and puts it elsewhere. Be prepared for WHEN it will happen.

I'm all for self-piracy as a means to promotion. I have videos of me out there on xhampster that a friend/regular uploaded with my permission to try to get more people in my chatroom, and it HAS worked. I've gotten PMs from guys being super nice about letting me know that my videos are out there, and I've told them that they're supposed to be there. Sometimes the guy will purchase the rest of my videos. I think it's completely different when it's someone else doing it. Personally, I don't really give a shit if someone uploads a video of me, because that's more promotion, but in this industry, some girls don't WANT the extra exposure, or figure they're losing money. Whether pirating makes one lose money or gain money probably has a lot to do with the camgirl in question, and the videos in question. Either way, it's a dick move.

Wouldn't it be easier just to put a unique number (or just the member name) in the metadata before you send it out each time? 99% of people will never look in there, so they're unlikely to change it, and it takes two clicks and a couple keystrokes to put it in.
