Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
The tiny, beautiful fishing town of Cordova, Alaska has gotten over 18 FEET of snow in the last two weeks.

“It’s gotten to the point where they don’t have any place to put the snow anymore,” Long said. “Alley ways are just snow dumps because they push snow off the top of the buildings.”

I saw that headline today. I'm glad it's them instead of us though, lol. We're having an uncharacteristically warm winter here in the southern states and I'm really enjoying it. :) Bummed I can't wear all my cute sweaters but it's nice getting to wear my t-shirts more. :D

Though on second thought, it would be fun to make snowmen on cam. Lol.

I'm glad someones getting snow this winter ... This winter really sucks so far.

There are no roads to Cordova so they are used to being self-sufficient, but that much snow that fast they needed the NG to help shovel roofs before they collapse. Another 1-2 feet of snow is due in a few days.

The town of Valdez which is only about a 30 minute boat ride across Prince William Sound is used to that kind of snowfall. Valdez's record snowfall for one winter is 47 FEET!

Wow.. 47 feet... thats epic.
I wonder why there arent more steep roof A frame construction around? I remember as a kid that was the savior in high snowfall areas.

Many of the homes there are A frame designs, but sometimes it's not practical or possible for people. There's pros and cons to those too as you will see in the following video.
