On the Interwebs, as I am sure you are aware, people are going to judge you regardless of what you do, say, think, act, etc etc. Do what you feel makes you comfortable, take advise from those close to you like your husband and people that have experience dealing with experimenting with changing age etc. Regardless of what you do though someone is always going to chime in with "You look so much younger than 29." Or "Who are you kidding, saying you are 29." Just examples but something along those lines, I think I read one reply that says it best...It kinda all balances itself out. I personally agree with your husband I think you could pass for 27-28 easily but that is just my opinion. ;)

I don't really get the need to lie. If I thought you looked good saying that you're 23, 47 or 108 really isn't going to change anything at all but thats just me. I get some people are more turned on by thinking people are certain ages so I don't care if models lie, I'd expect them to do whatever they feel will help them get them the best traffic and income. I do admire more though the ones that are honest about their real ages.

I post on my profiles that I am 20. I look very young and am commonly mistaken for being about 4-5 years younger than my actual age (23). I'm thinking about posting my actual age because a lot of pedos will see the age I set and start sexualizing me as an underage girl. I've had a huge problem with this ever since streamate started having more questionable traffic and it really bothers me. If what the data in the article HiGirlsRHot posted is true, then listing myself as my actual age won't be a problem and maybe drive away those pesky pedos. I think I also might just have my age stay at 23 on my profiles for a while.

I recently changed my age on MFC to 18 as a joke but I've noticed a CONSIDERABLE increase in traffic since...

Just saying.

I'm going to test this out. I'll report back my findings!

i say list it younger i am almost 25 listed as 20 because everyone kept saying i was lying and there was no way i was older then 19, i still get greif every once in a while its annoying but lowering it has helped with some of the annoying "no way thats ur age your lying"

I do wonder how much of the "no you must be younger!" thing is actually legitimate disbelief in your ages vs. an extreme version of the (somewhat antiquated) idea that it's only polite to tell a woman she looks younger than her actual age.

I've actually gotten quite a few of "No, you look older." They don't say it in a nice way either. :'(

Ohhh, this makes me want to try it out! I can't tell if people are blowing smoke up my ass, but people guess my age to be 18/19 years old all the time or early 20s. I have mine set for early 20s but... I wonder if it'll make a difference for me on SM? HAHAHA! I might just try it :p

OMG.. yes last night I was checking out the ladies on Streamate around my age and what their rates were to compare and they all look 50 plus .. So I come to the conclusion they all bloody lie and I should too, since I don't look anywhere near my age. I changed my age last night. Today will be my first day and my new age... Oh too be 29 again...

I couldn't make up an age if I wanted to, I'm too honest for my own good sometimes. But I seriously wouldn't be able to recall a fake age. It's hard enough keeping up with my real age. But I could see how putting 18 would make myself look better or putting over 100 could be an obvious way of saying nu-ya business.

My profile says I am 99 (that is as far back as CB will let you go) I very rarely have anyone question it and when I do it's normally something like "you look pretty good for 99." To which I reply, "oh that's 99 in mermaid years, thanks for taking the time to read my bio, that means a lot to me."

If people flat out ask me my age depending on my mood I say it's in my bio, or, I'm 99 in mermaid years.

I'm 24 and I tell everyone my real age. I have a mix of ages in my room ranging from 18 to upper 40's. I've had a few people tell me I look younger but not too much pushing about my age. I've thought about posting it as lower but I'm not the best at remembering something like that which I find so unimportant. I understand looking for someone in your age range to relate better, but I don't understand the needing to call people liars because they look younger/older.

I don't think it should really matter. I'm always taken back whenever I see that somebody tries to get a camgirls real name out of her or where she lives or what her real age is. You'd think that people would know that the majority of girls are going to fabricate in order to protect themselves and who could blame them? :lipssealed:

I say I'm a 99, 100 or 1,738 (fetty reference) year old. Everyone always guesses my age is 3-5 years younger than I am upon first glance. After spending time in my room, many will say there's no way I'm 19-23 because I'm too mature. If a regular is sweet & guesses correctly & discreetly - I might tell him with a simple yes or no. Basically my way of dealing with age is to make a joke out of it. Some may say this is making me lose out on users who specifically search for 19 - 23 year olds which I can easily pass for... but meh. *shrugs*

I changed my age to 18 and I have noticed more traffic as well. In fact, I am doing much better on cam by saying that I am 18. So, you are correct it works :)

I make my cam profile age younger than my real age because I used to put my real age and I got a lot of requests for mother/son roleplay, which I don't do. Lying about my age has cut these requests down to almost zero.

Do men (or even women, for that matter) even know what women of different ages actually look like? Especially when half of everyone is lying... Like sometimes I think I "look young for my age" because the women who put my real age as their cam age are 10 years older etc.

^THIS! I always hear how young I look but I think guys have gotten a warped perception about what 42 looks like since most people who are in their 40's list themselves as in their 30's. Even really famous ex porn stars, like bitch, you have a wiki page, everyone knows you're 42 not 32!

What I've noticed fairly consistently is the young fellas [<25ish] are the most harsh and even insulting when it comes to the age thing. I suppose tho that goes hand in hand with manners, which aren't really taught or used by many youngers of this generation. I can remember both my grandma and mom saying its rude to ask a woman her age. Now, it seemt to be asked soon after "hi, where you from?"
