I just bought a Macbook air and ofcourse installed Flash.
but 9 out of 10 times my webcam not work. (I'm a member)
it says my webcam is running but I and the models only see a white screen.

very rarely it works. but I have no idea when.
sometime when I do a reboot, cache cleaning. flash options changing.

like a said, sometimes it works, but after I close and re try it don't work anymore. and sometimes it does.

does anyone have expierence with a mac and the webcam?
I know there are some problems with Flash.

I also tried different browsers and OS x profiles.

btw.
the cam seems to work always with Skype and also with chatroullete (Flash based)

I have no problem broadcasting on MFC with flash on a Mac, and no problem when I've been signed on as a member and been on member cam on MFC. I have never gotten a white screen on either, unless another app is using my camera.

I don't know much about Mac's yet, but I reboot and nothing works with my cam.
pretty frustating, also because it works with chatroulette and Skype.

If you are using the built in iSight, be sure to check your settings. If Flash doesn't specifically say built in iSight as a cam option, look for USB Class something something.

Do you use Skype often? I've found that often when I run Skype on my Mac it takes over my webcam and won't let any other program use it until I reboot. Other programs just get a blank screen when they try to access the camera.

Also, MFC is pretty buggy when it comes to member cams in general, especially in the last six months or so. They often stop working and get the "white screen" problem. Closing and reopening the member cam window usually fixes it, but sometimes the model watching you won't be able to reload it (even if other members can see it fine)

thanks for the replies.

so the white screen happens more.

I use Skype a lot, but I made another OSX profile with no Skype, and I have still my problem.
the only cam option I have is "Facetime HD camera"

I'm not sure about how well the newer built in cams work with Flash. Have you tested it on other Flash based sites with webcams?

You might want to try installing Manycam and see if that helps you out. You would need to select your cam in Manycam, and then select Manycam as your source in Flash.

Seconded. Manycam is a great, free app which may just alleviate your problems. It allows you to tweak your cam and select it as a source instead of fiddling with your flash settings. Give it a try.

Just a warning with ManyCam on Macs, it is a HUGE processor hog. If you have SMCFanControl installed, you will see your internal temperature jump up extremely quickly while using it. Just a warning.
