Recently it happens all the time to me and I think is awesome! both the way they do it and the tips make me just super happy -mfc is great! However not sure what to do next... it happens often (cause am new and I constantly meet new people) and I have to ask here...this tipnote is always hidden from the room (tip is usually public but not always) - in the tipnote there is his first name (he usually writes "my name is so and so") and then I don't know how to thank him for the tip - do I thank him with his first name or using the mfc alias username?

the moment I say the name loud everyone in the room knows his name...but if I say using just the mfc alias/username it looks like I never read the note ?

So curious if you are a member and you would do that what would you prefer the model to do ?
Are members okay with sharing first name with the room?
And if you are a model what do you do when this happens?

I would say if the tip was hidden he doesn't want the room to know his name ( I do this often, tipping from the lounge ) most models will say " thank you ninja " in the room and then maybe PM me to say thank you. If just the note was hidden I'm sure he doesn't want the whole room to know his real name.

I normally will call a member by their username in my public chat room. Even if they're ok/want me to use their first name, I find it makes things a lot easier on everyone in the room to follow a conversation if I refer to people by their visible username.

In PM or MFC mail I may call them by their actual name sometimes.

I agree that, in a public chat setting, it's best to call members by their screen names unless they've requested that you call them something else.

Believe it or not, there are a few members out there who will get a tad annoyed if you don't call them by their first name. They want to keep things informal, and if you do happen to forget their name, it becomes this whole thing of "I tipped you 3 times, bb, and you don't remember my name???" Lol. I think someone on MFC even picked a fight with me once over not remembering his name. I've had to remind people on there that cam girls interact with lots of people on a regular basis, and couldn't possibly be expected to remember every single detail about everyone she chats with.

I may be all wet, but if the message is in a tip note only the model can see, wouldn't it make sense that the member wants to keep all the information secret? "Thank you anonymous tipper! You know who you are!"

vaguely related: recently a member in a model's room started making requests (show ass bb and the like). The model told him to tip for requests, to which he answered, "i've been tipping all night" (but all ninja tips). She explained that if he wants personal credit for a tip, then he should tip openly. I agree with her. He could be lying.

If he becomes this butthurt after only 3 tips, can you imagine how demanding he would be after a dozen or more? May be better to forget his name purposely.

why not simply ask them?

"Thank you, username! Do you want me to call you by your username or your first name?"

I guess there are several reasons - one is that I don't really like to ask too many pragmatic questions I feel it ruins the mystery mood created - I would rather just go with the flow and create the magic -most of these tips happen when am doing a show- dancing singing etc so I guess felt is just better to figure things out behind the scenes and figure out how to make the members who tip me happy cause they make me happy - and also if there is anything I might not know like basic mfc etiquette.

Thank you for all the answers :) there is a lot here to take into consideration including flow of the room too - like if I thank with real name the people in the room will get confused who am talking to.

If it's In the middle of a dance or something similar try thanking non verbally - blow a kiss? It will keep the mood etc.

I have a hard time with the real names thing. Unless its a close regular, I will probably forget and default to the username :/ If he were asking me to call him that in private it would be different, but I rarely do them and I dont tend to call people by name every sentence :lol

I'm genuinely not trying to a be dick, its just that there are so many people coming through its hard to keep track. Much easier if you make your screenname something you would want to be addressed by :twocents

When guys ask me to call them by their real name, I just tease them and say, "nope! you're stuck with bigdick69 until you can change it! I'm sure it seemed like a great name at the time...live and learn. Don't worry, I made the same mistake when I went premium and had models calling me 'lifeisameaninglessvoid' for months until I reached enough rewards points. You kind of have to tip big with a downer name like that."

Most guys when they sign up aren't thinking about making connections with models so they pick the sort of name they'd use on a porn site, only to discover that they actually don't want to be called "hungdaddy" by models they want to make friends with. So I try to connect with them on that level, letting them know it's almost a rite of passage and they can change it someday to reflect their real-self, but until then they're just gonna have a silly name and that's totally cool as long as they're cool, as well as motivating them to buy tokens so they can change it. But I have a very teasy room so I poke fun at guys. Not all of them like it. Especially guys from Kentucky.

Hmm, maybe this is why when my name was BasementDwellingTokenlessTroll I got so many negative responses from models.

I like all weird names members create - some are extra funny but any gentleman who enters my room with name milliontokens4u will get me instantly topless!

thank you for the advice and feedback on this- I will see what fits in my room reality next time online - is great to get all this info here! :)

IMHO, even if they HAVE requested it, I feel like unless you genuinely want to put in the extra effort, you call them but there screen name. I have one member in my room that I call by his real name, he's been a regular across every site I've been on and, to me, deserved that extra thing. Other times I get guys asking me to call them by their real names in public chat and they tip all of 200 tokens and stick around for two weeks. I'm not about to give special treatment to someone that's not giving me special treatment.

....for sure I usually give my own nickname first,..and tease them even further lol toots is tootiebooty in my eyes lol he even gave an offline tip and told me his name but enjoys my light teasing still :) if your BigDickdaddy im likly to call you something way off the radar.... for a while lol

If I happen to remember their first name (and I probably won't unless they're regulars), I don't mind calling them by it. It's no biggie to me. Some of these members have such weird screen names anyway, that it's just nicer for me to have a better name to call them. Lol. But by default, I'll call them by their screen name unless asked to do otherwise. If they have 'daddy' in their name, however, I'll probably exclude the 'daddy' part because that just makes me cringe. Lol. But I will not take up my entire public chat screen entertaining the "You forgot my name? I want you to guess" foolishness either. If you need one-on-one attention that badly, take me private. Otherwise, I've got other people in the room who are not interested in playing Guess Who.

Everybody's got their own preferences. You do what works for you.
