So yesterday about 10am PST I noticed that I could not see the profiles of certain models. I kept snooping around and found out it was really just Vietnamese models that I couldn't see their profiles. Even the ones that were currently on cam. Eventually about 30 minutes later one by one they all started to disappear from cam. So I looked through the profiles.myfreecams and searched the girls that I knew and all of them were listed as unactive models now. It seems that MFC has banned every Vietnamese model on the site. Later on one of those girls that I have added on skype told me that MFC banned every girl from Vietnam period.

A little background for those that don't know. Vietnamese cam girls usually work in a studio which is a really popular way to work nowadays on cam sites. However, not all of these girls work in the same studio. There is one in Hanoi (North Vietnam) and two in Ho Chi Minh (South Vietnam). Most of these girls use these studios to make a livable wage and pay their debt and have a certain criteria they have to meet every 2 weeks. However it seems that MFC banned them because one model showed a baby on stream. This girl did not seem to be affiliated with those girls in the studios and was independent, but MFC banned every single girl from Vietnam. Most of those girls are scared that they won't get the money they made up to this point in the month.

I feel that MFC went too far with this and it needs more attention. Is there any suggestions on what can be done? Also what are your thoughts on this? Is it fair to you? I am not sure if once you're banned if you can still receive pay from the tokens that you made, but if not then that is really fucked up on MFC's part. This is about 10-15 girls' lives their affecting.

Can't imagine they wouldn't be paid. MFC would in effect be pocketing money tippers intended to go to the models (or studio owners!) if they didn't pay them for services rendered. However, I suspect there's more to this tale.

Porn is illegal in Vietnam. That could be why they removed those models.

MFC has had models from the Philippines banned from the site for some while now. If I’m remembering correctly, I believe it was more due to the fact that there was quite a bit of fraudulent tips going through model accounts or that there was a lot of studio models with fake ids from that region rather than because of porn’s legality there. So, something like fraud could also be a factor, on top of the fact that porn is illegal in Vietnam. Especially with how quick they shut them down. Although, I can’t see them not giving the studio owners and/or models some kind of notice this was happening.

The models from the Phillippines were sharing accounts which is why they were banned a few years ago, I was told by another member who was there during that scandal. However, most of these Vietnamese girls had their own accounts so I suspect it has something to do with the studio owner or government. Pornography is "illegal" in Vietnam, but very loosely. Most offenses there are targeted toward political criticism, but I can also see that how big these girls were getting on MFC it could have attracted the attention of their government.

That sucks. :(

Also good point (The other posters) about porn being banned in Vietnam. I remember when we had a thread on here years ago about what happened to that model Mila (I believe that was in Thailand?), and there had even been some mention of the death penalty, and I was like wait...what?

Back in the day MFC had "The Asian Homepage."

Loosely enough for MFC to put themselves at legal risk over it?
Laws don't really have teeth extraterritorially without cooperation between countries, so there isn't much legal risk to MFC. I don't think the execs are about to get shipped to Vietnam to face those pornography laws, and MFC is operating legally on their home turf. Though it might be wise to avoid travelling to certain countries if you run a major porn site. Certain countries do consider their laws to apply to the entire world, even if they can't enforce them until you cross into their territory.

The OP is rather fuzzy...

For surely there are "Vietnamese" models on web cams all over the internet, and the subject here has nothing directly to do with being "Vietnamese".

No website would "Ban every Vietnamese model". It would be pronounced racism.

It's about as absurd as saying: "White women were banned all over the internet".

Seemingly, a white woman attempting to webcam FROM Vietnam would be met with the same restrictions. Ergo, this has zero to do with being "Vietnamese" by heritage.

(this is sort of tangent to when you 'block' "Asia" in your Chaturbate menu under "options"... you still see Asian women who are camming from Philadelphia, or from Greece, even when their profile states: "Asia" as their location)

I understood OP to mean models broadcasting from Vietnam. I would guess that you did, too, and are being nitpicky or have some kind of pet peeve.

What the person "meant" doesn't even matter in this context. Just imagine if he'd written: "... bans all African cam models"

It would be equally INAPPROPRIATE!

Why begin a thread (bound to sit here online forever) with a completely misleading title that is deeply inappropriate?

Once you've chosen to begin in such a way, what you 'mean' is rendered relatively unimportant.

In case you hadn't noticed, 2021 society doesn't pause to bother to consider what someone (might have) "meant".

... and the REASONS for that involve inspiring people to THINK FIRST... and beFORE they offend many people.

Congratulations for having "understood" DEEPLY INAPPROPRIATE... (leaving everyone to imagine just why it is you found it so easy to grant a pass to "DEEPLY INAPPROPRIATE" )

Someone who posts political rants and attacks on Twitter without reading and knowing all the facts that were presented?
I couldn't really make sense of any part of it, it'd be a frustrating task to try to read tweets from this person. There are multiple threads that they replied to in the last day or so that also are hard to follow. Ver confus.

Yep, MilaMilan get arrested for running a studio in Thailand. She also kept coming on here and claiming that MFC was rife with money laundering, but wouldn't give any details because she was "writing a book about it".

Still waiting on that book.....

OP is not correct.

MFC banned all Vietnamese Models because they were all working under a illegal agency, using fake IDs etc.
These girls working in the Studios (ONLY HCMC I don't know why he states that there was a Studio in Hanoi) were working under a Woman owning a sketchy Bar/Night-Club and offered them to be a sex-worker to pay off their debts. They been forced into this and also been offered to invite friends into this business to get a bit of a bonus. the girls only received 30% of their tokens and were put under severe stress.
It's actually pretty good that they've banned them because this looked really awful sometimes to see under what kind of low standards they have been forced to work. Sleepless nights, working while they are in their period or being sick. They have been monitored and checked. The Club owning woman I was talking about earlier also told the girls that they can't create any accounts on MFC themselves and threatened them because she would be the exclusive owner of copyrights for MFC in Vietnam. It sounds ridiculous but that's what the models believed all the time.
It's definitely not about Racism here since the same also happened to girls in Colombia. It all has to do with Fake IDs and taxes.

Also: A Colombian model I talked to been reporting to me that MFC didn't pay her due to her ban.

First off, I would like to thank Ms AmberCutie for this awesome forum.
1. Yes, porn and sex sites are "illegal" in Vietnam.
2. There are other models located in Vietnam that are working as cam models.
3. The studio owner in Vietnam is banned.
4. The models were paid; as it was the studio owner's responsibility to pay their workers/models.
5. How do I know this? The former models actually told me.
6. One of the "managers" of the studios will not expand the explanation of the ban.
7. The owner(s) of the 2 studios are also, night club/bar owners.
8. It's hard to speculate; however, from my first hand communication from the former models and one of the managers, the models were also banned from MFC.
9. They will not go further with other explanations. It's the Vietnamese culture, in Vietnam to be exact, to not dwell in the past and to continue with working for a living and their lives. Life goes on. Peace and Health be with you and our world.
10. Thank you again Amber and the awesome people here. This forum helped the Vietnamese Models with their technical problems while on MFC.

Good question.
The "business" puts up a legit front.
Yes the owners have a bar/night club.
The owners rent rooms to the models.
The owners do "emergency loans."
The "business" does community service work like giving money and gifts to the orphanage and needy.
The "business" like many "business conglomerates" pay-off the police. (You know what I mean.)
The workers know that it is illegal; however, when family and financial pressures, it's really hard to find work.
We all can emphasize with them, especially during the pandemic.
The "owners" would change their IP address to broadcast.
The sad part is, these models only get 15% from the tokens.
They have a daily quota of 3000 tokens. Anything under, they would be penalized a flat rate.
The models do complain; but it's their sole source of income for most of them.

I'm of Vietnamese descent myself but I'm Canadian. That's so scary to hear. I am very familiar with the whole shenanigan that went down back in the day with MilaMilan and how there were articles and pictures of the Thai police seizing all the dildos and sex toys found at her villa and had them displayed strewn on across a table. The police officers posing for the camera proudly. 🤣😭 I just went to Vietnam before covid and I had no idea porn was illegal there. I thought it was only in Thailand that porn was illegal. I had all my unedited, raunchy content stored on my smartphone on my Google Photos. 😅 Definitely will research what countries to be vigilant about. I recently found out camming is illegal in Turkey as well, but the boyfriend wants to go on a trip there to get a hair transplant lmao. Oh well 😊🙈 definitely gonna sign out of my accounts next time I'd be passing through customs at the airports of one of them countries.

MFC should never be allowing models or studios to register from any country where porn is illegal. That would put the models at huge risk.

How were they able to do this in the first place anyway?
IMO, I don't really like the idea of putting the onus on websites to keep track of international law to protect their users. Laws change a lot. In countries with frequent regime changes/civil wars, I could imagine it getting pretty dicey to figure out which set of laws is in power at that point. There are some countries which could have more highly specialized laws regarding different things (not just porn). It seems like a massive undertaking that, if applied broadly, would just discourage websites from making their platforms available worldwide, and instead only available in countries whose laws they were either most familiar with, or most easy to keep track of (and for most Western-based websites, this selection would near-certainly skew toward other Western-countries and leave large swathes of the world out).

I would like it if websites would take their users' wellbeing/safety into consideration, but I just don't feel like that's a reliable expectation to put on them, so users need to have a constant level of vigilance for their own sakes. If the users don't have the necessary internet-literacy skills needed to protect themselves I think that's an issue which is spanning far wider than individual sites or only about porn, so a broader solution would be necessary (something like public safety campaigns/public education/whatever would be effective for the specific situation). Additionally, if a country makes a law, I think the responsibility to enforce that law is on the government, not necessarily outside companies. If the United States said "Signing Up For Email Newsletters Is Now Illegal" it would be a bit egregious to expect every other website in the world to cater to our legal preference on that one. I think this falls into the same category.

I personally love this discussion.
I respect MFC for banning that country.
MFC is a legit and legal US Business.
Getting into international affairs where one country bans porn will escalate international relations between countries.
Vietnam is almost in business as usual. Where as other countries are still struggling with covid.
Vietnam should be used as a model to other countries.
Thank you for this awesome discussion.

This sounds like an unfortunate situation but I really want to see the photo of the police officers posing with a bunch of dildos 😂

That kind of thing has already happened and it's not necessarily catering to only western hosts. Adultwork and Camcontacts banned ALL usa hosts due to FOSTA laws. I lost my accounts with both of them after hosting with them for years. Camcontacts has since let USA hosts back on but Adultwork still will not allow anyone from the USA.

No website is obligated to provide an account for me or anyone else if their lawyers feel it puts the site at risk, plus I would likely not be risking my own safety doing this job if it were illegal in my country.

It's not really reasonable to expect a website to provide a way to earn money illegally in another country.

How are you challenged in any way, shape or form to recognize a completely racist thread title on "your" forum?

It doesn't even matter what was "meant".

What was "meant" is the sort of crap merely conversed about among themselves by those canceled in "cancel culture" long after they're gone from sight.

Just because you've gone through mental gymnastics to find a way to be offended by something doesn't mean everyone else should bend to your interpretation. No racism was "meant" and none was interpreted unless you're looking for it.
