Hey guys!

So for the past couple of nights I've been camming before going to sleep. It's been great so far, however my parent's room is right next to mine, so I can't ever be too loud at all especially when I'm in private. For the past few nights, I've tried speaking softly and hoping my webcam would still pick it up (this included turning the input volume up to max), and trying to speak into two different types of mics on my earphones. All of which have come to no avail as none of my customers say they can hear me. So I'm wondering, is there either a technique I can use or product that I can buy (that won't break the bank) that will allow me to speak verrry faintly and for it to still be audible?

Thank you! :)

A phantom powered mic usually does a better job of picking up medium to low volumes. But even then your probable going to need the mic to be extremely close.

There are some revealingly cheap USB phantom powered mics. Just keep in mind the cheaper the mic tend to be less sensitive.

Some of the cheaper USB phantom powered mics are Blue snowball, blue yeti.

You can find videos on youtube of people whispering into these mics, and get an idea what they sound like. But just notice how close they are to the mic in the videos.
