I have found that over half of the girls on MFC play loud techno and they don't talk. For me, this defeats the purpose all together. If all I wanted was to see women masturbate I would just watch porn. I come here because I love the interaction.

What makes it more painful is the fact that the conversation is ruined by techno. There is no style of music that I dislike more than techno. I mentioned this to one of the girls and she said that she has techno on because most guys like techno. I do not know one single guy that likes techno. In 30 years on this planet I've never met a guy that likes techno. We say we like techno because we know that girls do, but really we hate it.

When ever I'm in a position to pay for sexual gratification; whether it be porn, MFC, strip clubs, phone sex, or other other such endeavors, I don't want to have to lie about liking something that I don't. Those lies are reserved for girlfriends. In fact, the main reason I like to pay for sexual gratification is that I don't have to put up with things like techno, shopping, chick flicks, flowers, dancing, and whining.

Don't get me wrong, I'm romantic. And part of love is doing what your partner likes because it makes them happy. But that's a lot of work. And this should be anything but work.

I wanted to start this discussion because I'm really curious to know if other guys feel the same way that I do. I think most guys like rock music or sexy R&B. As for myself, I'd rather go without the music.

I also want to know what goes into a models decision about what music to play. Is it based on their own personal taste's or type of guy that they think they will attract. Generally, businesses play music that they believe is broad in it's appeal. Those businesses that play more targeted music do so as a means to identify themselves. Every indie coffee shop plays obscure alternative music. Bars in the country play country music. Clubs play techno and pop. I am very curious to hear what the model's point of view is on music in their room.

One last note; it should be said that many of the girls here are young. I know when I was 20 I thought that I would always like popular music. I'm 30 now and I feel ill listening to pop radio stations. Believe me, I'm very surprised by this. Most of my friends feel the same way. It's not that the music is worse, it's just that we change as we get older. I bet the average age of the customers on this site is at least 30. I could be wrong, but I doubt many 20yr olds have enough expendable income for this. Not to mention how much easier it is to get laid when your young.

I don't play any music in my room, and someone complained about it earlier, so I played the cheeky girls christmas song on repeat haha. :D
One of the main reasons I don't play it is coz different people like different things, so it's impossible to play something everyone will like, and also I'm not really into music myself, I'd rather sit in silence. :)

i play techno.. however.. not always and not loud.. also i dont type but speak..
that said.. i just like some techno songs.. it never bothers me much what members think (if i'm in public)
there is one regular who loves linken park.. luckly so do i, so i do change my music from time to time for him
i play about everything in my room.. rock,r&b,jazz.. i cant be on cam without any on.. doesnt bring me in any mood what so ever..
always have the tv on when i'm not behind my pc also..
in prvt and group i just see what people like.. usually dont have any music on there..

dont really like the musicless rooms too much myself.. it does bring some vibe to the room i like...

Eh, a lot of models do what they see other models doing, too.

It's ok, if they're bored and blasting music, it'll be their own downfall.

Are you sure they're not studio models? Sometimes studios blast horrible music in big rooms with tons of girls in it with only sheets hanging between them.

I also despise the techno crap that incessantly plays the same beat over and over again. I dunno how people even consider that music, it's more like annoying noise to me. Next on the despised music list is the crap rap. I'm good with just about every other genre provided it's not too loud.

I don't like a room without music. Music kind of eases the awkwardness if there's not a heavy conversation going on, and adds to the vibe of the room. However, if a girl's mic isn't good enough to handle the music she plays, that's when it's time to turn it off.

I personally will only play stuff in my room that I like. If I can't sing along and/or dance to it, it's not in my playlist. I get compliments on my music constantly, and only a few asshats are rude enough to point out to me if they don't like it. I'd prefer they just leave if the music is such a turn off to them that they can't enjoy the rest of me and my room. No point mentioning it in my chat. There are a few girls I won't visit much because they have annoying rap or loud hip hop on constantly, but I'd never tell them directly in chat that it annoys me. If they like it, then good for them.

My personal music preference is generally rock/alternative with a few pop songs mixed in. I think the closest thing I have to techno is Deadmau5 and it's just one song in my hours of other music in my playlist.

I do know some guys that like techno btw... just thought I'd point that out first.

As for music... I do like a lot of music, but I get bored of playing the standerd Classic Rock in my room!
I have this kick ass playlist on youtube I use to play when I was on cam. I have some russian pop, k-pop j-pop (I love music that I cant understand I guess!) mixed in with some regular pop and rock and hip hop (plus classic of course!)

I haven't gotten much flack from it, I think mostly because who can complain about something they dont know what it is ?!

Right now my laptop is broke and I have to result back to my cd player. Which sucks. Most of my cds skip and I have to get up every 30 minutes to press play or switch cd when I get sick of it.
When someone bitches about having to listen to Ke$ha/Veronicas/BlackEyePeas I tell them about my broken lap top and say that I hate having to play the same cd's too. Ke$ha keeps me playful the most, but she seems to be hated by 80% of the population!
There is seriously no pleasing everyone.
I can only help that one of these days that instead of just bitching about music they they will just help out with my laptop fund.

I can't tell you how many girls I think are cute but don't spend anytime in their room because of the music. I am in sales, and salesmen are always looking for buying signs. Every night their are about 800-1000 girls on MFC. The guy that says he wants you to change the music is telling you that aside from the music, you are what he's looking for. That's a huge buying sign.

In truth, all men really want to be pampered (no surprise there). It feels soooooo good when a woman does a simple, nice thing for us. It just might be that the man complaining about the music is your next big whale. It's likely that he will feel so good that you did something nice for him that he will be loyal to you for a long time. On the other hand, if he's complaining just to be a jerk, drop the ban hammer.

It's also worth mentioning that men like accommodating women. In real life the empowered women of 2011 is emasculating to many men. I am a feminist, however I don't believe in female superiority, I believe in gender equality. I'm by no means saying that anyone here is acting superior, because I think u are all very sweet.. I'm merely saying that the need for accommodating woman is felt much more strongly than in days gone by. I think the girls on MFC would be shocked at how much response they would get from a small gesture like changing the radio station. I know that it would make me feel sooooo good.

Whale alert!!! LOL  BTW not all of us are here for the $, therefore you can like us for US, or you can go to a chick that makes you happy. I usually have rock or metal playing, and take requests for tips (or sweet requests from regs in a PM)

It's the Headbanger's Ball in my room and has been way before I even began on MFC - Being a metalhead from the 80's - I do incorporate different styles of 80s old school to 90's - present tunes - I have always been praised for the music selections that I have and I keep it at a level that I can dance my routines to for my shows as well as have everybody be able to hear me without yelling - I always ask if there is anything in particular anybody wants to listen to and if they have a request that I might not have in my 8 Setlists (LOL) I will download it from Amazon :)

There's a nice way to ask, and most people so far have lacked the tact. And I know I'm in the cam world to make money, but I'm only willing to "sell myself" so much. I do what I like (which includes lisetning to the music I like) and let people enjoy watching me do so.

i play music softly in my room so that i can dance when i feel like it or when its dead and i have nothing to say its not just really quiet.

for 200 tokens i will add a song of your choice to my playlist. i havent decided yet if its going to be just for the time I am online and then it gets deleted or if it will stay on.

i actually know alot of guys who like techno, dubstep, and any other edm music that i play. but i dont just play those, i play all sorts of music.

Honestly, if someone doesn't like it there is always the next model button. Music is a big part of my life, and really one of my only escapes. Listening to what I love will bring out the best in me, and that will reflect in our evening together. Ive never really had anyone complain about my music though. I do think that it shouldn't be too loud that you can't hear anything the model says and defiantly turned off or waaaaaaaaayy down during a private show, and even group. As far as techno... ehhhhh its not my thing, but to each our own. I know that when I considered going to flirt4free, you couldnt stream copyrighted music, and had to use their own loyalty free stuff... needless to say that was the deal breaker, I knew that if I couldn't sexy dance to jared letos sexy ass voice i would hate it.

I find that hair metal and 80's/90's tunes are REALLY popular in my room's public chat but I try and swiftly change the tunes to some groovy chill beats when group and privates begin - you know - just to save us all the trauma of having me pleasure myself to the "macarena", "unskinny bop" or "my heart will go on". If I'm feelin hippity-hoppity I put on some old school rap like BackSpin on Sirius, it's still groovy but people know the songs for the most part and their tame in comparison to current rap so my rooms tone isn't derailed by much talk of cappin' asses, fuckin' bitches, and *ahem* nerfherders.

I play a lit of metal (metallica, Rammstein) and a lot of chilled out Buddha bar kind of music. I play it real quiet though. Can't stand yelling over it. I've had plenty of compliments on my music before. I wouldn't turn it off, can't cam without it!!

True..You can never satisfy everyone..and a nice background noise..like a chillout song might help with the mood very much. But sometimes when people like your music is what makes them stay for a longer period. Being real loud , no matter what song it is..is the worst...hurts my ears...Plus it is good for dancing and moving ..when I put one of my favourite songs I get more sensual and the people in the room can feel this...Just keep it at a discrete level I think..

I'm not going to play music I hate and that makes me uncomfortable, because then I wont be able to dance and be fun. Then no one would want to visit me. Usually I'm enjoying a variety of different hardcore/thrash/youth crew. I have a couple indiepop artists and I think ONE rap album.
I'd change a song if someone tipped for it and it wasn't awful, but you really shouldn't be surprised that a bunch of mostly 18-25 year old women are listening to club hits and top 20 songs. MFC has a big enough market that MOST girls can do their own thing, and attract a group of regulars rather than micro-marketing to the individual tastes of every guy who MIGHT tip them. I think OP is generalizing way too much about what men and women want/like.

I think that a lot of the girls...especially the non English speaking ones play loud music so they don't have to talk/communicate
And, don't forget.....there's always the magic 'mute button'

I'm the type that I do what I like. If someone doen't like it, they can kindly fuck off.

With that being said, I'm a bonafide music whore. I like a little bit of everything, except Opera, && any screamo. I'm a fan of beats. A good beat is what keeps me. If I can't sing or dance to it, I don't wanna listen to it.

I normally play Reggaeton. I'm asian. No one seems to get confused anymore. Lately I've mixed a lot of eurodance/europop into the equation as well. I always ask several times throughout the night, how my music to my voice ration is, && I adjust it accordingly to what the majority says.

Now, if someone asks if I can change the song, or asks for a specific song, I will do so for a tip, && depending on what it is. It also depends on what I'm doing @ the time. If I'm in the middle of booty shaking it to a song, then no, I will not change the song, because the song I'm dancing to, is a good song for me to be able to shake what lil booty meat I've got. ;). I usually ask what song the person has in mind, cause if it's something I absolutely cannot stand, I will not play it, even if tipped.

I usually turn my music up a bit when dancing too. Makes it more fun/enjoyable for me. :).

When people get shitty about what I'm playing, I tend to ban them. I play what I like. DUH. Idiots going ew why are you listening to this are not gonna be entertained.

Sometimes when I'm extra bored or feisty, I play annoying ass shit on purpose, && change my topic to tip ANY amount to change the song, cause that seems to make people wake up a bit.

Oh. Yeah. I know guys who like techno.

I play music from Windows Media Player (songs I've added to a playlist), and I keep it on Shuffle so that I never know what song is gonna be played next. I think it's kinda fun that way. :)

It's pretty much R&B/Hip-Hop/Rap, plus a couple of songs from the ROCKY soundtrack, plus one Alanis Morissette song ("Uninvited," which was my karaoke song).

I think all that should really matter is that the model is playing music she enjoys (It's unlikely that I'll be jammin' to Country music anytime soon), and that she doesn't have it at a ridiculously loud volume. Ever go into a model's room or visit a model's profile, and the music is WTF?! loud? Yikes.....

It used to be a pet peeve of mine when I'd be listening to music that I love, and then some guy would be like "Play _____ by _______." Uh...who??? LOL. One time though, a guy asked if we could go private and I booty clap to a song called "I found myself a clappa." I had never heard of it, but I agreed to do it once I found it on YouTube. :) I think if you're gonna make requests for a model to play a song, at least tip for it - or take her private - and try to choose a song that's not too far off from what she likes. For example, is a model is really into Country music, she might not be that comfortable dancing to "Machine Gun Funk" by The Notorious B.I.G.

Yes, no two people are going to be 100% in accord about musical tastes, so the host gets to choose! lol

One Romanian model will play anything someone requests; I was kind of amazed at her being able to find ANYTHING, no matter how obscure, but nevertheless, it's HER choice to run her room that way, and if she decided to change that, also her choice.

I can not stand that blasting music and u cant hear them talk or they dont talk. I do play music and vary the styles. I keep it low while Im chatting and put it loud when I am dancing on my pole or something.

Music plays a huge part in my shows. Pretty sure I make about 50% of my rent money doing interpretive dance to Weird Al and Jon Lajoie. Anyone that hates parody music would HATE my chatroom. No worries, there are plenty of guys that love the music I play.

While I think it's a pretty douchey generalization to say that no guys like techno, I have to admit that I do agree with you to some extent.
I way too often find myself hitting that mute button, and not necessarily because I think the models music is bad or anything. Being the music fanatic that I am, I just prefer listening to my own.

I much prefer rooms that have no music because that means being able to listen to your own music while interacting with the model.

I guess I look at a girl's music as part of her personality and part of the package deal of being in her room... so yeah, if its music that I like, I'm more likely to enjoy my time there. But that's all a matter of personal taste with no right or wrong.

Music can add a lot of sexyness, especially if a girl is dancing to it... the exception for me on music is when its loud enough that you have trouble hearing what she's saying... OR if she's doing a closeup show, its great hearing the sounds she's making instead of music. That's more a matter of volume and timing than taste though.

I'm a little fussy about music at times but its not something I feel like I have much right to complain about really. Other than friendly teasing about music I myself don't like (country = nooooooo! :woops: ), it doesn't seem reasonable to ask a girl to play something different all the time.. especially if its something she doesn't like herself. So I'd say its mostly (if not entirely) up to the girl what she plays and if she wants to take requests or just talk about music and what she likes, that's cool too. There isn't much room for serious complaining though... if her music bothers you too much, time to go elsewhere probably.

If you are in sales then you should know that a "whale" will pay to get what he wants. How many big spenders will waste time complaining about what a model is playing when he's a stranger to her? If the people issuing commands to models were a big spender in waiting then the models would be awash in tokens if they only listened to the 'ass bb' crowd!

I really hope you don't take this approach in your sales job. You started off with a statement about techno music based on your personal opinion that does nothing but ensure that the people who like techno will now stop listening to anything you say. Then you go further into "facts" about the relationships between men and women and how you not wanting to listen to techno isn't just a personal preference, it's actually based around the universality as to how human sexuality operates and the models are making you feel like a girl because they don't want to change their music.

I think the last line of your post is the real story. You say you are on the sites for interaction but everything you have said just seems to be based on your desire for the model to acquiesce to your needs.

I play pure Led Zeppelin lol no complaints yet. I did play Foreigner a lot for a while but I got sick of it. I've been meaning to make up some playlists, but I notice that older music is generally better; 80's being the newest [and even then, have be music that doesn't SCREAM 80's lol]

I want to make a Motown playlist, a classic rock playlist, and something that's a little more upbeat for when I dance, while still having it not be anything too modern.
