Had it for almost 11 years. Been a super reliable, fuel efficient little beauty that never let me down.
But the old girl had had enough.

I got a new car, but we haven't bonded yet. Sure she's got fancy things like a cd player and cruise control. But it just doesn't FEEL right.
This stupid display telling me when to shift. My girl never tried to boss me around like that.

And I have to move the gear shift all the way LEFT and then UP for reverse?? What the shit is that??!?

Oh, and PSA for anyone looking at new cars: Ask if it includes a spare tire. Apparently, a huge amount of new cars do not include a spare. I didn't even know this was a thing until I lifted the trunk floor only to find an air compressor and some sealant. wtf?!?

Anyway. I miss my girl :(

My car's a 1999 sedan. I've had it for 9 years now. It doesn't like to indicate when you're in drive, it sometimes turns the radio volume all the way up just for fun, and lately it's refusing to unlock from the outside driver's side door.

But damn do I love it. I feel your pain, man. :romance-caress: Some vehicles just have character, ya know? I'm pretty certain I'll keep band-aiding it together and maybe keep it around for sentimental value.

I know the feeling. Our trusty 1999 Dodge minivan finally went to the junk yard earlier this year. We had it for over 10 years and it had about 300,000 miles on it. (the dash quit years ago at 248,000) The engine still ran like a champ thanks to years of Mobile 1 oil but the body was just rusted out. Too much salt used on our lovely northern Illinois roads. Love our newer 2002 Chrysler minivan and it is loaded but I still miss that old Dodge. Maggy and I put tons of miles and had some great times in that van. Drove all over the states in it too picking up old motorcycles. It was like a part of our family.

They stopped putting spares in cars for weight reasons because of fuel economy. I'm sure cost is a factor too. If your spare compartment can fit a full sized tire, I would try and locate a decent used tire and steel wheel. Cheap donut spares aren't worth it.
