So I recently got laid off from my job and I've been thinking about doing something like this for awhile but I'm so nervous. Even making a little bit of money will help pay for things so my bf doesn't have to do it all.
I stay at home and just nap, and take care of the animals now. I am the housewife and I need something else to do.

Camming: just to start... what I can think to ask now
  • How did your first show go.. how'd you get over being nervous and what can you recommend to do besides just talk? And to get guys out of your PM's begging (I've seen people mention this a lot)

  • Do I have to show my face.. I was thinking making getting a cute mask or something. I'm not so shy about showing my body as my face. My BF is cool with it and might even join me if I go for it

  • Do you recommend any other sites besides just MFC... maybe something to start off on?

  • Are there any sites out there that you can just sell short videos or videos and pics on if I decide I don't want to be a cam girl? Or maybe a text/sexting based website that makes some money too?

Misc Things:

In doing some searching I came upon selling used panties which is what more so led me to this site first.
Does anyone do this that can tell me more about it, where they sell or how they manage it? I've found a few sites I'm going to look into for it but advice is good.

My biggest concern too is how do you ship them. I have a ton of bubble mailers right now I could use, cause I use them for eBay stuff when I sell clothes but... how do you get away with the return label. I clearly don't want to use my real name or address.

You'll get over your nerves eventually. I advise maybe doing a few practice shows (just opening your webcam). So you know what best angles to use. turn pms from members off or have it so only people on your friends list can pm you.

Streamate has a 30 day new model boost. You don't have to show your face on mfc, but you probably won't make much unless you are super banging hot and have the art of seduction down to a T.

There are sites where you can sell clips. Manyvidas, clips4sale, Iwantclips just to name a few.

My very first show was ehh. I was awkward and overwhelmed. It happens to everyone just starting out. I wasn't necessarily body shy since before I had sold videos and pictures so I knew my angles and blah blah. Just like Audri suggested, I would run a couple of practice shows so that you can get a hang of the controls, technology (webcam & lighting) and to get a very rough feel for it.

As for begging in the PMs, simply don't answer them. I suggest doing this especially If you're just starting out because trying to manage 10 million conversations on top of a cam show can turn into a stressful train wreck very quickly. Overtime once you feel more comfortable, you can charge tokens for PMs.

You definitely don't have to show your face. If you want to wear a mask of some sort or just cut off the top portion of your body, you definitely can. But just keep in mind that the vast majority is going to want to see your face. So If I had to suggest one of the two, hands down, go with a cute lace mask to add a bit of mystery to the room instead of straight up decapitating yourself.

I've never used MFC and I've only been using Chaturbate for a month which seems like an OK site for the most part. When I first started out, I used WebcamModels because the whole 70% payout lured me in. The site didn't get much traffic which was the catch to it all but it was a good site to test the waters. But despite If you choose Chaturbate or MFC or whatever, choose a site with good traffic.

Hope this helped! Best of luck

I think mfc doesn't allow masks. When I first started getting into all of this camming/showing myself off, I was wearing a mask too. When I emailed my verification photos to mfc, they said I couldnt wear a mask, but I was approved cause I sent some non-masked photos. Also, mfc doesn't allow males on stream with you, where chaturbate does! Like, if you go to the mfc rules, it gets as strict as you can't have the tv on with a male voice on it.

A few years ago, a model got in trouble for her husband asking from off-cam what she wanted for dinner. I haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble for the voice on a TV, but it's good to err on the side of caution.

I'm on streamate and my first show was pretty scary and relatively awkward. All the guests were so helpful, super friendly and a lot of them coached me on how to use the website properly and how to run my show well. I chose SM because its all private shows, so I figured there would be less of a chance of being recognized or a video being leaked of me doing sex stuff. I think I know of one girl on our site that doesn't show her face unless you go private. I don't know how well she does? but SM girls usually only flash for gold and we never show our bottom-privates in free chat, so there's not really a big need for a mask

I eased in by just chilling out on Chaturbate as an exhibitionist, non-verified so no tokens earned. Doing laundry. Cleaning my fish tanks. Being boring but cute. No tokens meant no pressure and being on CB meant no cam score to fuck up. I love love love being on MFC but I would’ve had a crap score if I started there and from what I hear it’s hard to dig out of that hole.

Start by just getting comfortable chatting on cam, keep your clothes on until you’re totally comfortable. I can’t speak for everyone but starting fully clothed with no sexy stuff helped me get used to the broadcast aspect of things before taking that next step. There’s a lot to think about when you’re camming: camera angle, lighting, pms, public chat, your stupid cat that won’t stop walking in front of the damn camera, etc. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, so don’t be afraid to start slow and easy. But everyone is different sooo...feel it out and make changes as needed.

As for the panty thing, get a UPS box at the next town over. Use the box number and pack it like it’s a dumb junk mail free sample. Panties are pretty small so you can make em look like boring crap that's nice and discrete.

This is my advice:
1) Start on the 1st day of the month and/or a Friday.
2) Keep low expectations, cam just to have fun the first day.
3) Let yourself be nervous! guys love to see new girls who aren't pros.
4) Don't do anything that isn't fun or exciting for you and ignore people that ruin the fun vibes.
5) Ignore PMs completely
6) Be prepared to surprise yourself!

4.a) Expect a lot of morons/guys to say weird, nasty, rude, disgusting things - don't get freaked out by them. Practice your poker face maybe? lol

yikes i was kinda watching a movie called bernie on netflix, while camming on mfc and was like "man voice on cam!" freakout. "nah im good. right?" freaked out.. turned off the movie :(

...

Also,,, theres way too many good customers, to let awful trolls get to you!!!

Also,, haha, i wouldn't do shows, if it wasn't my job. I don't love it or hate it. Or I do love it and hate it. haha. It all depends on how that night went really.

For me, I do like the attention. So that helps. When people want to watch me and/or tip me, every time I realize that I'm way too hard on myself. It's good for my self-esteem/confidence.

Hi lovely! *essay time.. dun dun..*

My first time on MFC was a massive flop. I was working at the time and only logged on once every couple of months to see if my boobs alone could get me tokens. And then I would do cum shows for free because I was horny and thought it would be fun (which it was, not going to lie :p). I was treating it like a sexy hobby which is totally okay, but because now I want to do this to make a steady income, I had to go through the ringer and try tons of things out (including working on another site - Streamate) to see what worked for me and what didn't. And something to remember - something that works for one person might not work at all for another! Don't feel pressured about what other models are doing - be authentically you but also be business minded when it comes to transactions and communication with members. If a member is pissing you off, you have no obligation to talk to them. This goes for PM's that are very time-waster-y. 80% of guys who PM you with 'hey, hi, how are you bb' while you're online will NOT tip you.

**MAJOR NOTE** Once you stream on sites like MFC/Chaturbate - bots will automatically record your shows and upload them to various external third party sites. DCMA's can be sent on your behalf with the help of MFC, but these don't really do anything at all. Screenshots of your cam shows will be available online forever, basically. Members can also record your stream and save it on their computer. Have a think about whether you're comfortable with this before you decide to move forward with camming.

I would recommend starting on a site that isn't MFC. They make it really hard with no experience to get any viewers tipping once your new model status runs out. I gained (quickly) a lot of experience from Streamate, but it really burned me out as it's a lot of back to back masturbating (it's based on private shows only - no public nudity is allowed). Chaturbate is supposed to be good for new models!

If you want to sell videos, ManyVids is the site I use. There is also a site called Clips4Sale that caters to a heavier fetish audience. IWantClips is another clip site that seems to specialise in findom content the most (financial domination). As far as sexting, check out SextPanther or NiteFlirt. NiteFlirt is probably the more popular one, and they let you do a variety of things through their system like sext, offer dirty phone calls and other related services. I believe you can use your personal phone number and they keep it private - but be sure to read up on their T&C's of course :)

You can sell panties on clip sites mentioned above, and as far as shipping goes - be cautious of any shipping that requires tracking. If you ship a parcel that has a tracking number, the buyer can see which post office it has been sent from - so don't send it from your local town post office, try going into the city or somewhere further away from your residence so they don't find out which suburb/town you live in. A zip lock bag to store the panties in works well. I just buy one of the under 500g parcel bag things and put them in there. On the return label, I just write my cam nickname, like 'Charlie' and don't give a return address.

Sorry for the bloody essay! Hope this helps in any way! If you have any follow up questions, let me know and I will be happy to give them a go :)

Girrrrllll, if you were getting so many back to back privates that it was burning you out you should raise your rates!!! Its all about finding that happy equal medium.

THIS so much. I would add in think about how being naked and shoving things in your vajay or appearing on a site where people do that will affect your future. What is your retirement from camming plan? Are you going to adult industry forever? I don't think you will be able to make much if you go the mask route. I think it's rare when someone sees a lot of financial success who does this. And if you are doing the mask thing to not be recognized ... there are so many ways someone can recognize you. Your furnishings can be recognized by family or friends, as well as any tattoos or whatever. A mask doesn't gaurentee privacy.

I started camming on MFC and was one of the lucky ones because I did really well in my early days and straight away. I was lucky. My first few days I didn't do any privates and slowly eased in. I told the room I wanted to get to know them and the site first. It worked out for me. When I did accept privates it was mostly with regulars.
