New followers who aren't in my room?

Heyyo, so I'm currently using the app called Follower by basket1892. It notifies me of new followers and follower analytics for that stream. But, I've noticed I'm getting notifications for usernames that as far as I can tell weren't in my room that day. Do y'all think it's just the app lagging and telling me about followers that came last stream or something? It's a V1 app.

Ummmm don't listen to me from the past, its actually a v2 app

On Chaturbate visitors can follow and unfollow from the main index pages. There's a tiny yellow star at the upper right of the images, hover over it to see the option. They don't have to enter the room. V2 apps can tell the difference between in-room following and out-of-room following and issue different messages accordingly. If they are coded to do so

yes it is, sometimes when i start shift and nobody is in my room, my numbers of followers increasing ))

I've occasionally been browsing the thumbnails on the home page, and added rooms using the yellow star method, that I want to come back to visit later.
I did wonder if models ever spotted that folk not in the room were adding them as faves, this confirms it.

i have tested this 2 tabs one inside a room and one outside.
Follow on the outside room via the yellow star, get a follow notification on the inside room.

This isn't entirely accurate. V2 apps receive User Follow events regardless of whether the user is in the room or not, but they can't differentiate whether the user is in the room or not just based on that event.

Follower is a good app, though, and does just what it's supposed to do.
