I wouldn't mind trying a stripper pole, but I'd just make an idiot out of myself. It would be kind of fun though.

I got an X Pole and installed it myself. Candie has jumped up on it upside down with no problems, and Jon has swung all 200lbs of himself around it with no trouble. You just gotta follow the directions exactly. Looks like that girl may have installed hers upside down, on mine the smaller end is on the ground and the larger end is on the ceiling.

That's what I was thinking. I've played around on an X Pole and it was seriously strong/sturdy, but yeah it was installed properly. It's not hard so long as you read the instructions.

Look at the video, nothing tears or breaks at the ceiling. That baby was unanchored at the top. That's just providing mechanical leverage at the base. It would have to be VERY secure at the base to have not fallen. If she anchored it in the floor you can bet it's going to cost a lot to repair, especially if it took out part of a strut. If it wasn't anchored in, well then she obviously would have had better luck just flopping on the floor and praying she misses.

Her pole didnt even look like a stand-alone one, but i dunno, i have an x-pole X-pert. very sterdy, and hasnt moved since i moved it for about 3-4 months now, even spinning super duper fast on it hasnt budged it, creaks a lil, but its a pole! haha

They are perfectly safe if put up correctly (not counting u actually falling off it yourself ofc), like asha said, follow instructions and you cant go wrong on it.

Just make sure you check the bolts/screws and joints every now an then becuase they do get loose sometimes.
