Sounds to me like some schmuck who couldn't get a date, spammed hundreds of women in the adult business world and TV actresses.... two porn stars accepted, viewing at it as free publicity, lolz.

Mike Stone plans to make his first prom a memorable one - with a Los Angeles porn star as his date.

Stone, of Oakdale, created Internet buzz this week after two women with triple-X websites agreed to go with him to the May 12 Tartan High School prom.

He isn't sure if he can overcome the objections of school officials, or raise the money for his dates' airfare. But if even one of the women accompanies him to prom or anywhere else that evening, it will be a date to remember.

Patty Phillips, superintendent of the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale district, said Wednesday, March 21, that the porn stars would not be allowed at the prom.

She cited the the school's "standard prom procedures" and two other district rules that would keep them off school property.

Stone, 18, doesn't expect any trouble from his parents. "My mom was a little mad, but my dad is OK with it," Stone said in a telephone interview Tuesday.

In January he realized that as a senior, the spring prom was his last chance - he had never been to one.

But he had no date. Then he remembered a 2004 movie called "The Girl Next Door," in which a teenage boy and a former porn actress fall in love.

Inspired, he spent most of January and February sending Twitter messages to about 600 celebrities, including hundreds of porn actresses.

Stone didn't woo them with soaring poetry or showers of rose petals. Typical tweets were: "hey Lyndah can u make it to my prom" and "hey nat are you booked up



on may 12?"
It worked.

Last weekend porn actress Megan Piper responded via Twitter, Stone said. She said he would need to pay for her airfare from Los Angeles.

A short time later, porn star Emy Reyes also said she would be Stone's prom date.

Stone has launched a fundraising drive. A tweet from Stone on Sunday said, "Hey everyone please help me raise to buy Emy Reyes a plane ticket so she can come to my prom on May 12."

Stone said he has no specific plans for the date. "I will take them to dinner, then the dance," he said. He plans to rent a tuxedo.

On Twitter and on several websites, many readers cheered him on as a kind of teenage folk hero.

Other postings attacked him, such as this one: "To ask a porn star (total stranger) to the prom...says to me, 1.) He thinks he's going to get lucky; and 2.) wants to impress his friends; or 3.) he can't get a school date."

Not the first time this has been done. I seem to recall one of the myriad of porn stars that would be on the Howard Stern's show went to a listeners prom. I remember seeing it on the old E! show.

I see nothing wrong with this and not going to judge him for it. Knowing the girls I went to high school with I'd have preferred to have gone with a porn star too. Instead I never went to any school dances, all I missed out on was the monday after getting to complain about the lame music and the money I spent on me and my date.

I find it sort of cute in a really weird pathetic way. If I felt safe/it was worth the publicity Id probably do something like that. Of course my prom SUCKED so I dont know how much fun Id have at one now. And having a pornstar there might detract too much attention from the kids graduating and that would make me feel bad. I dunno why anyone would judge him, but I do suspect there'll be cries of moral outrage from the more puritanical elements, about having a porn actress (I haven't heard of either of them I dunno if they're really stars) turn up to a high school. Wasn't Tito Ortiz barred from attending a Marines banquet in his honour because he wanted to bring girlfriend Jameson? And at that point she'd been out of porn for a few years. Oh yeah, and marines have probably seen porn before.

I went to mine with easily the hottest girl in the whole place, and she was just a friend so nothing romantic though all the guys were drooling - I guess that's kind of similar.

Now that this has worked expect him to be tweeting to 600 pornstars to take his virginity.

Funny, I kind of thought the same thing when I saw the picture of the Latina pornstar naked surrounded by a bunch of rednecks with southern flags on their shirts :lol:

I doubt they're in any danger, they've been told they're not allowed to go anyway and besides - they did it for publicity, which they got, and are probably in less danger than they would be in any other public place with strange men around (and no teachers watching)

Sorta sad, really. I didn't realize just how uptight schools in Minnesota were when I was growing up, nobody ever had to 'be authorized' before attending prom. So long as they didn't show up drunk or naked it shouldn't have mattered. :twocents-02cents:

If it hadn't been publicised I'm pretty sure they wouldn't check who peoples dates were or their profession, but is anyone really surprised that a school doesn't want pornstars at the prom?

What a judgey attitude for the school to take (especially considering that most girls today use prom as a way to show as much skin as possible anyway). I'd be willing to brave the stinky teenage masses sans dress after that BS. Porn or no, she's a 19 year old girl who's willing to make time for some dorky kid and a sequined dress. Some schools are really weird about that. My high school boyfriend was a senior when I was a freshman, and after he graduated, I was no longer allowed to bring him to school dances, because "dates had to be high school students." This was selectively enforced though. It wasn't really a big deal to me but I always thought that was a stupid rule, it's not like he was some way older creep.
