Check out this link if you like. Seems Pornhub has disengaged its upload and download features except for those verified within the adult industry. Maybe this will prove to be great for us who don't want our content stolen and our identities compromised.

I just heard about that and was worried it affected cam models that verified their accounts? 🤔
Think it’s a good thing but don’t want models who use site to get left out.

It's actually a benefit to verified and model payment program posters. The only downloads people can get are the ones purchased on verified model accounts, and the only uploads allowed are by verified and model accounts. It should also help avoid unwanted pirated videos of ours being posted by random horny dudes.

Here is their official statement and info:

Our Commitment to Trust and Safety

At Pornhub, nothing is more important than the safety of our community. Our core values such as inclusivity, freedom of expression and privacy are only possible when our platform is trusted by our users. This is why we have always been committed to eliminating illegal content, including non-consensual material and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Every online platform has the moral responsibility to join this fight, and it requires collective action and constant vigilance.
Over the years, we have put in place robust measures to protect our platform from non-consensual content. We are constantly improving our trust and safety policy to better flag, remove, review and report illegal material. While leading non-profit and advocacy groups recognize that our efforts have been effective, we know there is more to do.
In April 2020, we retained outside experts to independently review our compliance program and make recommendations that focus on eliminating all illegal content and achieving a “best-in-class” program that sets the standard for the technology industry.
Today, we are taking major steps to further protect our community. Going forward, we will only allow properly identified users to upload content. We have banned downloads. We have made some key expansions to our moderation process, and we recently launched a Trusted Flagger Program with dozens of non-profit organizations. Earlier this year, we also partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and next year we will issue our first transparency report. Full details on our expanded policies can be found below.
If you wish to report any content that violates our terms of service, including CSAM or other illegal content, please click this link.
1. Verified Uploaders Only
Effective immediately, only content partners and people within the Model Program will be able to upload content to Pornhub. In the new year, we will implement a verification process so that any user can upload content upon successful completion of identification protocol.
2. Banning Downloads
Effective immediately, we have removed the ability for users to download content from Pornhub, with the exception of paid downloads within the verified Model Program. In tandem with our fingerprinting technology, this will mitigate the ability for content already removed from the platform to be able to return.
3. Expanded Moderation
We have worked to create comprehensive measures that help protect our community from illegal content. In recent months we deployed an additional layer of moderation. The newly established “Red Team” will be dedicated solely to self-auditing the platform for potentially illegal material. The Red Team provides an extra layer of protection on top of the existing protocol, proactively sweeping content already uploaded for potential violations and identifying any breakdowns in the moderation process that could allow a piece of content that violates the Terms of Service. Additionally, while the list of banned keywords on Pornhub is already extensive, we will continue to identify additional keywords for removal on an ongoing basis. We will also regularly monitor search terms within the platform for increases in phrasings that attempt to bypass the safeguards in place. Pornhub's current content moderation includes an extensive team of human moderators dedicated to manually reviewing every single upload, a thorough system for flagging, reviewing and removing illegal material, robust parental controls, and utilization of a variety of automated detection technologies. These technologies include:
  • CSAI Match, YouTube’s proprietary technology for combating Child Sexual Abuse Imagery online
  • Content Safety API, Google's artificial intelligence tool that helps detect illegal imagery
  • PhotoDNA, Microsoft’s technology that aids in finding and removing known images of child exploitation
  • Vobile, a fingerprinting software that scans any new uploads for potential matches to unauthorized materials to protect against banned videos being re-uploaded to the platform.
If a user encounters a piece of content they think may violate the Terms of Service, we encourage them to immediately flag the video or fill out the Content Removal Request Form, which is linked on every page.
Our policy is to immediately disable any content reported in the Content Removal Request Form for review.
4. Trusted Flagger Program
We recently launched a Trusted Flagger Program, a new initiative empowering non-profit partners to alert us of content they think may violate our Terms of Service. The Trusted Flagger Program consists of more than 40 leading non-profit organizations in the space of internet and child safety. Our partners have a direct line of access to our moderation team, and any content identified by a Trusted Flagger is immediately disabled. Partners include: Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (United States of America), National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (United States of America), Internet Watch Foundation (United Kingdom), Stopline (Austria), Child Focus (Belgium), Safenet (Bulgaria), Te Protejo Hotline - I Protect You Hotline (Colombia), CZ.NIC - Stop Online (Czech Republic ), Point de Contact (France), Eco-Association of the Internet Industry (Germany), Safeline (Greece), Save the Children (Iceland), Latvian Internet Association (Latvia), Meldpunt Kinderporno - Child Pornography Reporting Point (Netherlands), Centre for Safer Internet Slovenia (Slovenia), FPB Hotline - Film and Publication Board (South Africa), ECPAT (Sweden), ECPAT (Taiwan).
5. NCMEC Partnership
Last year, we voluntarily partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in order to transparently report and limit incidents of CSAM on our platform. In early 2021, NCMEC will release our total number of reported CSAM incidents alongside numbers from other major social and content platforms. We will also continue to work with law enforcement globally to report and curb any issues of illegal content.
6. Transparency Report
In 2021, we will release a Transparency Report detailing our content moderation results from 2020. This will identify not just the full number of reports filed with NCMEC, but also other key details related to the trust and safety of our platform. Much like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other tech platforms, Pornhub seeks to be fully transparent about the content that should and should not appear on the platform. This will make us the only adult content platform to release such a report.
7. Independent Review
As part of our commitment, in April 2020 we hired the law firm of Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP to conduct an independent review of our content compliance function, with a focus on meeting legal standards and eliminating all non-consensual content, CSAM and any other content uploaded without the meaningful consent of all parties. We requested that the goal of the independent review be to identify the requisite steps to achieve a “best-in-class” content compliance program that sets the standard for the technology industry. Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP is continuing its review, but has already identified and categorized a comprehensive inventory of remedial recommendations, supported by dozens of additional sub-recommendations, in addition to the steps identified above, based on an evaluation and assessment of our current policies and practices. Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP is soliciting information to assist with its review and in developing recommendations regarding our compliance policies and procedures. If you would like to provide compliance suggestions, you can do so here.

PH

Was just going to comment on how shitty PH used to be years ago and not caring where they got material from, how or who. Guess, now that they've bankrolled their money they have a conscience and are more willing to protect themselves from further lawsuits?

It's about fucking time. Too bad they didn't do this years ago and just waited until their ability to process payments became jeopardized because of their shitty business practices. But y'know, at least they can now say "hey, we care about creating a safe community" and have it be even a little bit believable (as if).

Funny thing, this has apparently become pretty mainstream, because I actually had someone who is not familiar at all with the online adult industry tell me about how he heard about this on the news.

I am wondering if the Visa and Mastercard investigation is going to affect Clips4Sale, since they have partnered up with Mindgeek.

If you've opened up NYT this morning, Force, you've read how cards use and payment processings through those 2 cc companies is likely to end soon. We'll see, I guess. Did they fuck around. Yes. Now they are going to find out soon, I guess. This is just a personal opinion from a guy outside the adult biz. It'a great bussiness, unfortunately it's run by a bunch of fucking idiots. Also I've seen a 2 minute clips Of feminist Pm Trudeau asked about tax evasion. It was really hilarious. Let's see when 2-3 laws in Eu will be approved what will happen.

They’ve had to finally make changes due to major cc companies pulling out of business with them. Hopefully they’re able to get back in their good graces, and then keep their new processes in place that limit what content can be uploaded by whom.

But if mindgeek gets completely abandoned by all major cc companies I do worry about the trickle down effect to other porn sites and whatnot.

From what I've read this is exactly what is going to happen. A disgrace. I get that you are all worried about it.
They have the legal power and money to hopefully try to fight it and get back to normal. We’ll see.

I haven't read through the full article, so just taking most of it at what people are saying. I was commenting on PH's past, as I remember when they just started to get popular how they didn't care for any kind of rules, etc as they were just trying to get content and traffic. I'll have to read more on it.

Though, I do agree that the adult industry is run by people who lack knowledge in key areas. When I first joined MFC, there was no encryption and the emails they sent regarding some account information was terrible. They at least have encryption now, but there's a lot of stuff that gets sent via email that I wish wouldn't. Too easy to intercept and pull data from.

I'm thinking we're going to start seeing more laws like GDPR and CCCPA coming out over the next year or two.

Honestly, that's the way to force change. Hit people in the bank account and see what they do. The downside is that it impacts models and other companies that host content there. But, it's the unfortunate side effect of doing companies with others.

As to how this impacts other aspects of the adult industry, that's difficult to say. Hopefully those who are legit have no issues, and it brings to light all the others who aren't. Perhaps a positive from this all is sites who are rehosting/reselling stolen content get shutdown due to not being able to process payment?

we can hope!

We’ll see.
I'm sure there will be updates on the thread. Anyway, and this is just my personal opinion, from what I've read. It's the other way round. I mean It's not PH here who decides, it's the opposite, it's cc companies who decide with whom they are going to do business, according to their policy.

Oh I realize how it works, I just think if any adult company has the fire power to try to get their business back it’s mindgeek. So we’re holding out hope.

Also the visa one said they’re “investigating” so also hoping that the efforts PH has made to rectify the situation has some bearing on that.

Yeah, and I agree with you, I guess something is going to change in this industry. Will be interesting to watch from the outside. Also, I don't think they are idiots. I mean, every big big business who knows, acknowledges or finds to be lacking in some areas, competencies, or expertise just hire people with those knowledges and skills who will get the job done. Not that much of a big deal. So I think it would be more fair to say that they just don't care. Problem is many people in many business forget that there are always bigger guys than you out there and no one is too big to fall. Unfortunately, when this happens, usually you bring down everybody with you. Just my opinion.

As a person who is completely outside your business, ngl I was just reading few articles this morning and thinking If MG will ever exist, or better say, if will exist like it is today. Totally imagine this might sound crazy to you. But that's just what I though. Hope for the best for everybody. We'll see, I guess.

Hey everyone, so if you haven't heard visa and mastercard are no longer supporting any of mindgeeks companies. I feel absolutely terrified that I am going to loose my job and that they are going to start going after smaller sites. What should we do.. what can we do?

They did this because of pornhub's repeated incidents of hosting media that includes revenge porn, sex-trafficed victims, and under-age (literal child porn). Other sites don't have to worry about this because they verify every person uploading or streaming is of age and consenting. Honestly, it's about time mindgeek finally gets their shit kicked in for this. I'm surprised it took the payment processors to do something, and not the doj. They now require all uploads to be properly verified. This is a good thing bb.

Just to add context I moved this post into this thread instead of its own thread. Carry on. :)
Thanks Amber new to this forum and really just wanted to talk to other models about what is going on and how its going to affect our careers in the future. So thank you for making a place where we can discuss with one another.

I 100% understand and am happy that changes are going to be happening. Because stuff like this is unacceptable.

The questions I am left with are. Where do models like myself who work on streamate go? Are they going after all of mindgeek or only PH? Is there any way to build a petition so that only mindgeek gets affected and not the rest of us? If we are getting completely cut from Visa and mastercard when is it activated? for I was just camming tonight and people on PH were still able to take me into shows. What are better sites to start moving over to that have a similar pace? Do you guys think PH is going to be able to recover from this or that Visa/mastercard will change thier mind?

To be honest, I am really worried right now for I make all of my income threw streamate. So thanks to you all for taking the time to share your information on the subject. I greatly appreciate it.

Have no idea if anyone can confirm but I've read that millions of vids (and counting) are being deleted/suspended on Ph. Article wasn't in English. No point in posting it.
