Article I've read this morning stated 10-15. mill vids. Don't remember exactly now. Asked confirmation about that. If anyone one knows. Just curious. I mean talking about a great purge.
I don't think it's that many. In the search bar on PH it currently says search 2.9m videos, but before iirc it was around 11-13m

I 100% understand and am happy that changes are going to be happening. Because stuff like this is unacceptable.

The questions I am left with are. Where do models like myself who work on streamate go? Are they going after all of mindgeek or only PH? Is there any way to build a petition so that only mindgeek gets affected and not the rest of us? If we are getting completely cut from Visa and mastercard when is it activated? for I was just camming tonight and people on PH were still able to take me into shows. What are better sites to start moving over to that have a similar pace? Do you guys think PH is going to be able to recover from this or that Visa/mastercard will change thier mind?

To be honest, I am really worried right now for I make all of my income threw streamate. So thanks to you all for taking the time to share your information on the subject. I greatly appreciate it.

Pornhublive and similar through their network are streamate affiliates/whitelabel. Streamate actually pays them 35% or whatever of sales made through their affiliates. Mindgeek losing their payment processers isn't going to effect streamate's.

Welp, my profile, where I shared my own artwork, got nuked. My favorites got nuked. My "videos watched" count went from four-figures to 300. The download function, which is a big reason I was paying a premium sub, is no more. Worst of all, their recommendation feed, which was never great to begin with, is now completely useless.

I understand their reasoning, and I'm all for policy that favors content creators. At the same time, PH was the place I went to just quickly find something fun to watch, and I thought paying a sub and uploading content of my own was my way of being a responsible perv. Seems that's not the case.

I'm not mad, but I'm sure as hell not paying for a premium sub any longer.

What the industry should had done by now is developed it's own crypto exchange system that gives the protections customers expect from the CC system with the ability to rapid convert currency without huge fees.

The problem with bitcoin is the lack of confidence in exchanges since most the larger ones have exploded or had collapsed from massive thefts.

They need a system that is fast but has some form of customer protections so people can use it on a whim. Nobody 'preplans' their horniness 2-3 days in advance. But also it would require models or sites to be making regular rate adjustments which can get confusing and complex on volatile days.

I had just read this article today and thought I would come here to see if this was already being discussed.

They’ve had to finally make changes due to major cc companies pulling out of business with them. Hopefully they’re able to get back in their good graces, and then keep their new processes in place that limit what content can be uploaded by whom.

But if mindgeek gets completely abandoned by all major cc companies I do worry about the trickle down effect to other porn sites and whatnot.
Same. I had seen the article I pasted above shared on someone's FB and they were jokingly saying "OnlyFans is next". I'm thinking awwwh shit as I plan to launch my OF next month. 🙄 My question is, how can we hope for the best and prepare for the worst in light of this? What does this look like in 2021? I totally get the concern, but it is just aggravating to say the least that sex work gets lumped in with child pornography, sex trafficking and other illegal activities. Those of us who have made a living from this are the ones who are impacted the most.

Yeah this is definitely gonna have a ripple effect

Right.

I 100% understand and am happy that changes are going to be happening. Because stuff like this is unacceptable.

Have you considered MFC? 🤔 You can splitcam and stream to both platforms, but just keep each platform's rules in mind about nudity in public chat. Go into "away" mode on one platform if you get a private show on the other.
I am on SM, but I find myself streaming on MFC more and earning more there these days. I can build community with my guys and its just more fun on the good days. I do like SM's categorization better though, especially being a double niche camgirl.

I know it's not really what the thread is about. I definitely had favorite videos, playlists and shit on Pornhub that have been nuked as of this post. And logging into Pornhub. But, I have to admit, I hardly ever go there. I hardly ever go to any of the tube sites for porn. Not to be a white knight/stan for the Cam Girls lol. But, really discovering Cam Girls completely changed how I buy/consume porn. The only thing I notice now is that I'm on MFC less, because most all of who I regularly visited on MFC have stopped camming and just post to their OnlyFans. They say they might come back to camming, but OF seems to be working for them and they are happier. So no pressure to not jump on every time their online. And regularly still contribute and see the things I wanted to see from them.

I guess in terms of me as a consumer, I feel that if Onlyfans gets an MFC share aspect, it will be a game changer. As I'm a person that believes in physical media. I know it's not the way. But, you never know if a site is going to bug out, or you lose your access to the Internet for whatever reason. Being able to have all the things I have purchased readily available just always wins out. I look at it the same way with how. People started cutting cable, and then all these places decided they have to have a streaming network. So to stream all your stuff, you have to subscriptions to all the sites. To which I never got rid of my cable, and it ended up being cheaper to add stuff like HBO onto my cable instead of paying ala carte. Or you know how Parks and Rec has left Netflix and The Office is leaving Netflix. I get Peacock because of my Cable. But, I also own the Parks and Rec box set so I don't have to buy Peacock just to stream Parks and Rec.

I'm rambling, so I'll just say I think it's cool that Porn Hub is taking a stance to clean up their site, and give more power back to the creators. But, ultimately I think they are going to lose their share, because of what people were going there for they will migrate elsewhere. And that I think as a consumer they are behind some of the sites where people I followed/support on other platforms never even focused on Pornhub despite some of their content being there etc.

"OnlyFans is next". I'm thinking awwwh shit as I plan to launch my OF next month. 🙄
From what I can tell, OF is already constantly making changes to try to avoid nonconsensual content being shared. Yes there have been issues, but it seems they're constantly tweaking things to avoid it.

There are so many banned words and stuff now vs. just a couple months ago (I think the most recent drama caused them to really kick it into high gear) I think they're taking it seriously. Whereas PH ignored it for decades.

Ya, my legit content got nuked as well. I have no desire to get verified on there. Oh well, I hope some liked what I shared of myself on PH. :)

User uploaded porn has been a bad idea anyway.
I'll meet you half way and say they should verify uploaders to make sure everyone is of age and consenting. But. I'm down for user uploaded stuff. Just make the verification process more accessible.

Just a thought to ponder, the comments from the article at Ars point out the offending videos hosted on PH are anywhere from 118 at the low end to "millions" in speculation. On a site that only ever had 14 million videos.

Meanwhile Facebook has 84 million documented instances of child content/rape/revenge/etc other scumbaggery. That's fine.

What's better than a national security panic? Why a moral panic, of course.

They did this because of pornhub's repeated incidents of hosting media that includes revenge porn, sex-trafficed victims, and under-age (literal child porn). Other sites don't have to worry about this because they verify every person uploading or streaming is of age and consenting. Honestly, it's about time mindgeek finally gets their shit kicked in for this. I'm surprised it took the payment processors to do something, and not the doj. They now require all uploads to be properly verified. This is a good thing bb.

Except for Chaturbate - they definitely have an underage porn/trafficking/feeding the pedophiles vibe going on in a LOT of rooms. They will have to straighten the fuck up too which is a good thing, but they won't do it until they get slapped by the credit card processors. The only way to get these sites to comply is to take away their ability to make money. If we have to blame anyone for fucking up the industry it is sites that have gotten away with way too much for way too long (PH, CB). I'm glad to see someone is finally holding PH accountable. *Grabs popcorn and waits for CB's turn*

I’m so happy PH is finally stepping up and doing something to help models. All of my stolen content is gone and I didn’t have to do anything!

You are spot on. This isn't about the "problematic" uploads. This is about puritanical morality. Just the means to their end.

If only that were the case. They aren't doing this to "help models" they could give a fuck less about exploiting any of us if it lines their pockets. They got caught and now have to adjust. I am very happy about the stolen content being gone - so I feel ya 100% on that! It's just a shame that it took them getting fucked out of money for them to do it, instead of them just wanting to "do the right thing".

The amount of bitching from members about their playlists/etc being gone is just beyond comprehension. The entitlement is real.

"OMG my free porn is gone!"

I'm sorry but... boo fucking hoo. Go pay for some.

Just a thought to ponder
If that is Ph defence strategy in my opinion won't be a good one. Twitt/Fb and other are, lets say tech comp. Ph is adult who fancies himself as tech. Also this prompts few questions: 1) They knew what was coming and did nothing. And, also, from what I've read, they didn't even listen people in adult biz. 2) what makes everybody believe, from what I've read, that TW and Fb won't be held accountable soon for that. My 2 cents. My comment is not directed at you. Just wanted to point out this from what I've been reading in the news. Another perspective.

Because they aren't porn sites. As it has been mentioned here previously, this is a war on porn. Twitter and FB aren't porn sites, they will never be held to the same scrutiny. This is not to say that there won't be impacts. But it will not be the same.

As for the first part of your post, it's not really a question, but yeah they simply chose to do nothing and that is real bad.

Also Facebook and Twitter don't rely on payments made through Visa and MC, which is why all this kicked into high gear. so... apples and oranges.

war on porn
As I believe you know, I don't live in US/Canada. So from my perspective it's not a war on porn, let's say, per se. But one thing I can sure tell, even if this is not my business, the more unfortunately I read about, the more I get upset, not only, and in primis for the tragic stories we all been reading about, but also for the total and absolute incompetence. personally I don't believe it's just incompetence but that's my opinion. Wish the best for everybody.

It most definitely is though. Who called for Visa/MC to drop pornhub? Exodus Cry. A Christian organization veiling their anti-porn/anti-SW rhetoric with the indisputable anti-trafficking umbrella.

And sorry, no, I was not aware. As a US citizen, it's my duty to be self-centered and therefore US-centric in my communication. 😂

I was not aware.
Ah ah.Lol, I know. That's not important. Yeah, I've read somenthing about that yesterday but, honestly, know nothing about. I've read that is somewhat backed by different activists/group/association. Have no idea if it's true. In my book not only it doesn't matter but makes everything even worse in my book, if you know somenthing is coming, what do you do? Just wait for the train to hit you in the face? I don't understand. Have to go, will follow the thread.

The people on Chaturbate are SUPPOSE to be veried, and even though I agree there are distrubing vibes, vibes don't count as illegal.

I just looked at my PH account and ...well, it looks different, that's for damn sure. I can't even change my avatar and banner. One thing I didn't think about is how this removed all the animated/ anime porn. And, now the market is less diverse. It's skinny white women, muscle white guys, a few ebonies here and there, and muscly BBC.

...Maybe I should become an accountant or something.

Did you have a model account there?

It does when the roleplaying / fetish feeding is directly and BLATANTLY "underage" play. And yes, they are supposed to be verified but I've seen girls on there who are obviously no older than 14/15 years old being dressed up like little kids with toys and kid stuff all over the room. The room is FILLED with pedophiles (reading the chat is disturbing) and they continue to allow it with the excuse being "age of majority in their jurisdiction". Thing is, it is being broadcast in the USA, CB is based in the USA and the girls are not legal for USA standards.

Their verification process is laughable as well, I'm in my 40's and they declined my ID saying I wasn't of age. I had to email them directly and make them look at my ID again. CB bans models that ARE of age for "looking too young". But they will allow all of these underage models from out of the country..... SMFH

It's not just a "vibe" it's blatant. A few of them it is OBVIOUS they are being trafficked (Columbia) yet the site continues to allow it because they are the "age of majority in their jurisdiction". I'm guaranteeing their ID's are fake because developmentally these girls are NOT 18. Columbia's age of majority is 18.

I guarantee from your response you haven't seen any of these rooms. There are quite a few of them.
