Reflektor: am I taking crazy pills?

I love Arcade Fire. Funeral is their best album IMO, but Neon Bible and The Suburbs were fucking great.

Everyone keeps raving about Reflektor and I've listened to it a couple of times but I JUST DON'T GET IT.

Is anyone else equally underwhelmed by this album??

I haven't listened to the album yet. I've only heard the single, and HATED it.
I mean, the radio stations out here are over playing it already, but I just really disliked the echoed "Just a reflektor" in the background of the chorus. It was like he forgot every time, and then quickly tried to say it when he remembered.

But I can respect the intro and how it sounds like I'd feel badass walking down the street with it playing.

So, yes to instrumental, no to vocals/melody...
The rest of the album is unrated cause I haven't heard it hahaha :twocents-02cents:

I'm not sure if I'm going to love this album in the long run, but I'm listening to it a lot these days.

My favorite songs are Joan of Arc and Porno. I think Porno is about a girlfriend/lover who's a cam model

I feel like it's one of those songs that is either love it or hate, there is no in between.

I personally love it!

In my case I couldn't stop listening to it for a week, I was like addicted to it.

I think it is a great album, very much in line with the previous ones.
Somepeople say they want to be too dramatic and that's why the pull some of the songs to 7 minutes but for me they don't feel that long.

I think it is one of the greatest records of the year

What other records would you put in your top5 of 2013?

I really like it. It's really different.

It sounds like a Roxy Music album, honestly, but it's a good approximation of one.

Saw them 10 days ago while saving my spot for Pearl Jam who were playing afterwards, a bonus I was completely happy with, haha. I like the Reflektor stuff more after seeing them play right in front of me, but maybe listening to it afterwards I'm remembering the vibe of being there or something. Magic. Before that though, yes I was underwhelmed.
