Hey @Brit
I understand your concerns but I always provide the available options for models in the same way I would have provided this option if the complaint was about Google and/or other sites.
In saying this, I do appreciate the warning you outlined for models regarding this specific site and your feedback is certainly valued 🤗

I lose all my respect to members that say they've seen me on these sites. What were you doing there in the first place? That's my first question for them.

For what it's worth, I found camsites through this way or through similar at least.
I never used to purchase any kind of porn, I would see it as 2what is the point, there is an endless free index of it on google", so I would (like many) just google for whatever I want, and hope it shows up free content.
I never knew about camsites or anything and I didn't even think about models or porn models losing out or any emotional side of it, etc, it wasn't a thought in my mind - as selfish or whatever you may call that, it was just about "wanting porn and to jack it". For me it was ignorance more than anything, I guess.

It was through these searches I first discovered camsites, and the rest is history.
Good can come from some guys, although I am sure the majority of them are just the typical freeloader, I have no doubt about that.

I first found one of these sites just by searching for a model's username. I was trying to find my way back to her allmylinks page, and the search results brought up dozens and dozens of these sites. At first I didn't know what they were and thought they were sites like clips4sale/manyvids and she was selling content through them, but once I figured out what was going on I bounced. Glad I never mentioned it to her though if it would have gotten me tarred as a scumbag.

We all chance someone going out of their way to record a session and appearing on these sites captured by whatever screen recorder the user prefers. There are a bunch that offer software or browser add-ons for purchase to do the work for a user. These last 2 options are the most concerning since they record every minute of every session. To avoid my shows being on the auto-recording sites, I cam with Appear on Network Sites = No. I know some people don't believe this is helpful, but I did a bunch of testing (I used to test software for a living) because it bothered me.

// The long version //
When I started doing this I searched my CB handle and found a bunch of records. There was a pattern to some of the records that was interesting. And, bothered by this I researched how these sites work.

The installed software records every second a model is in public chat, and uploads directly to certain sites when the model is not in public (hidden, away, private, offline) where the recordings are available almost instantaneously. According to some instructions I read for a couple of these apps, once a user sets things up to record one or more models, they don't need to have the app open on their computer or be connected to the internet. The server handles everything. They just need to open the app do download their files or view recording status. The browser add-on and some other installed apps require the browser or app to be open and require an internet connection. They basically make connection to a model's CB page and when online is detected they record. So, only some sessions will get recorded because the app may not be open or the user's computer offline.

*Some of these sites it seems are just recording all models.* And these sites seem to be connected to the CB API. To test this I created a new model account and set Appear on network sites = Yes, and went live for about an hour. My first session was recorded and up on these sites in minutes of my broadcast ending. I set Appear on network sites = No and went back online for another hour. This session was not recorded. I set Appear on Network sites = Yes AGAIN and went online, and session was recorded and up on these sites in minutes of my broadcast ending. I created one more account and had the exact same results.

After all that "Blayze_Noir" was created and so far has only one record out there on these auto-record sites because I forgot to flip the setting to NO on my first day. No others because I guess I am not interesting enough to record.

Sorry, I am not that tech savvy. When the model goes offline or away, the user has to start spying, which he has to pay for. How does the software record private shows?

My friend works in a Studio in St. Petersburg, Russia. According to her, there are over 100 models that work there, so we can assume it is a big and successful studio.
She works 4 days a week, for seven hours a day, and not a minute more. She has another year left on her contract.
As per her contract, she streams simultaneously on 5 sites. I know three of them are Stripchat, Chaturbate, and Live Jasmin. I do not know what the other two are.
I visit her on SC, which is her favorite. I actually met her on CB, and she asked me to switch to SC. (@Charlie_SC :) )

Her studio exercises a huge amount of control.
I asked her once, about a different topic, if she talked to the SC admins. She told me she never deals with them directly. The studio deals with the SC admins for her.
If SC were to try and contact her about the pirate videos, they would get her studio instead.
She has no control over the Spy feature, it is written into her contract that it will stay on.
She rarely allows recordings, but if the member pays enough tokens, and she is comfortable with them, the studio will turn on the record feature. For a price.
She is NEVER nude in public chat. She does not use toys, although the studio has pressured her to do so.
She has her own "rules" for private shows. She demands that members PM her first before they go PVT so they can be informed of her rules.
She turns down a lot of requests for PVT. She still does very well.
She hates spies. I confessed to her that I spied on her once, and she was NOT impressed.
She says she always knows who is spying. A few weeks ago, I was in Pvt with her and asked her to do something a bit explicit that she had done for me before. She refused. She said she was being spied on and didn't want him to see it. Apparently, she turned him down for a Pvt show right before mine, and he started spying on mine. She told me that happens a lot, and that members she turns down often spy on her. (More on that later!)

The studio also handles a lot of her public chat. She does not have time to say hello to everyone and being that her responses look automated, they are probably employing bots.
As an example of how much control they have, I asked her two days ago if she could have knights in her room. She looked puzzled and started typing. Her eventual answer was ... "Have to ask admins".
Speaking of her answers, her English is very poor, and she uses a translator to communicate. I think the translator is a program and not a person. (I hope it is).

One reason I do not wish to tell her about the pirate videos is that I am not sure if the studio will try and punish her in some way. I realize that this is an unfounded fear, but I have a gut feeling that the repercussions for her could be negative. Part of me wants HER to know, but I am not sure if I want the studio to know, and there is no way to inform her without informing them.

The other, and more important reason, is that as @Brit has duly pointed out, she stands a good chance of being doxxed by Camwhores.

This is difficult to explain. Russian society has less tolerant views on camming than we have in the west. Camming is viewed as being on the same level as prostitution. It is also illegal.
I don't think that @Jaelka will mind if I quote her from another thread.

"In fact, studios get shut down quite often in Russia. Every few months (if not more often) there is news of the police breaking into the studio and taking everyone away.
As for models who work from home, without a studio, it doesn't happen very often. But there is news (e.g. one model was selling her photos/videos on the OF, and somehow the police came to her house and arrested her).
+ because of the new laws, it's getting scarier to work:
1. Inability to pay taxes to the state as it is impossible to register correctly at the tax office to file income tax returns
2. Webcam is banned in Russia. Fear that the police may come home
Attitude of citizens towards models. 3. Many people think it's something on the level of prostitution

Thank you for caring about us) I hope all will be well!"

Not only would there be a social stigma to deal with ifs she were doxxed, but the studio could also get shut down and she would have to deal with that. She could be fined, or even jailed. And then there would be the studio admins to deal with who might not think kindly of her involvement.
She has a son that she is always talking about, and a two-year-old grandson that she adores. None of her friends and family know what she does.
She considers it her secret shame. She even called herself a prostitute once in PM. This broke my heart. I am forever telling her what a good, kind, and courageous person she is. I constantly remind her of her worth, and I will not stop. She is my friend.

Needless today, the consequences of her being doxxed would be devastating. I cannot risk it.
Sorry for the essay, but I thought might be relevant to the conversation.

I just realized that right before my private show that was illegally recorded, she had a really short private show. I asked her what happened, and she said she refused the member. As I stated above, she once, not long ago, refused to pose in a Pvt show for me, because someone who she previously refused was spying. Could this be some kind of revenge porn activity? I am also wondering if someone is following my private shows, which are pretty often.

Like my granddad would say...you worry too much. If you're that concerned about people spying on your private shows, just use the "true private"/"exclusive private" option (Different sites call it different things, but you get my point) from now on when you take a model private.

If you are worried about pvt show spies and are on SC, use the Exclusive Private which cannot be spied on. I am not on CB but IIRC they have something similar as well.

On CB, if the model sets the 'spy' rate to zero, it prevents anyone spying (rather than giving them a free show, as you might think from a zero cost setting - IMHO it would be better if they had a checkbox to disable or enable spying).
