Summer... oh summer summer summer.

Hi pretty people,

So I realized summer is slow. My first slowish period in a year which is great it hasn't gotten there before but it certainly came Fun times. Anyway... I'm getting through it BUT I'm wondering if anyone has an idea as to why its happening. I chalk it up to people having spent money on summer plans, they're busy with family and friends and I guess the heat makes people less likely to spend money on porn?! I really don't know.

Also wondering when it ends. I'm in my first cam year so haven't been through all the seasons yet. And any tips on how to put on a smile through it all? It hasn't been awful but I notice a change. Since I became an adult I never liked summer anyway. Summer is for kids!

Camgirl income varies and some can make it work all year long, but many camgirls complain about it being slow over the summer, while I usually manage to make it work I do find it more difficult to make the same over the summer, takes more hours or a different type of show. As far as reasons go:

Kids are out of school, so they're home all day AND they're going to bed later at night, so there's less privacy to visit camsites

People are going on vacations, often with their families, so combine less privacy with possibly being without an internet connection, especially if they're camping or in a remote cabin in the woods/mountains.

Cool, thanks. Glad there is a light at the end of the tunnel after August. But I know what you mean on more hours and a different type of show. For me adding hours isn't possible because I burn out quickly but I've definitely had to change the show slightly to adhere to what people want, which I guess is a bit different in the summer. Weird. Glad you've made it work.

I didn't even think about kids being out of school but it makes perfect sense! And people have less privacy. I get it. Anyway its over soon!

Kids out of school and family vacations are a big factor for summer but truth be told people come up with reasons why it’s slow all year long. We go from summer to football season then move into the holidays where once again kids are out of school, family is in town or people are traveling to visit family and there are spending all their extra money on presents, then Jan comes and they are all broke from the holidays, before you know it it’s tax time and oh look! It’s summer again lol. It’s just a vicious cycle and it will depend on your clientele which times of year are slowest for you. Try to keep a little extra money tucked away as a safety for slower months and don’t be afraid to add new eggs to the basket or get rid of the ones that are stressful/non productive. Clips, texting/sexting, phone sex and skype shows are all great ways to bring extra income on top of camming.

When I worked in retail, summer was also a surprisingly slow time- I think it's kind of consistent across all non-essential sectors, for reasons mentioned above and also in most places, I think people are enjoying being outdoors, which is the opposite of what we need them to be doing lol. But I get it.
