This thread is focused on discussing the Top Models (aka, Top 100) contest held every 3 hours, which leads to the Monthly List, and the Hall of Fame (annual listings).

Contest Rules:
Per https://stripchat.com/top/girls/rules ... located at breadcrumb trail of Home Page > Top Models > Contest Rules -- the following statement is made (with the only item that changes is the time zone for your local time). In this case, I will stick with ET/EST (aka, New York City time)

Every 3 hours we are giving away StripPoints for the top 5000 winners.
We are calculating places based on tokens earnings and number of unique paying users.
2x StripPoints for broadcasting during Boost Time: 8:00 PM Saturday—8:00 PM Sunday

QUESTION / ISSUE #1
The Boost TIme is NOT during the broadcast time of 8:00 PM Saturday—8:00 PM Sunday -- this is technically inaccurate under any scenario.

1. Boost Time begins with the tokens earnings and number of unique payer users between the START time of 5:00 PM Saturday, with the first contest and Boost Points awarded at 8:00PM (ET) Saturday. THOUGHTS: Technically, you could say it is 8PM but the sentence structure implies that a model should "begin her stream" (aka, broadcasting) at 8:00 PM Saturday.
2. A total of eight (8) three-hour contests are held:

  1. 5-8 pm Sat, --- START
  2. 8-11pm Sat,
  3. 11pm-2am Sun,
  4. 2am-5am Sun,
  5. 5am-8am Sun,
  6. 8am-11am Sun,
  7. 11am-2pm Sun
  8. 2pm-5pm Sun --- END
3. Therefore, it is NEVER accurate in any situation to describe the Contest as ending at "-- 8:00 PM Sunday".

ASK of STRIPCHAT: Change the language on the Contest Rules page to clarify the start and ending times -- using your own language style -- the most proper range should state:

Every 3 hours we are giving away StripPoints for the top 5000 winners.
We are calculating places based on tokens earnings and number of unique paying users.
2x StripPoints for broadcasting during Boost Time: 5:00 PM Saturday—5:00 PM Sunday (this is the most accurate way to phrase the contest period of 24 hours)

QUESTION / ISSUE #2
As you may know, many models perform for many hours to earn a living and also, like to compete for the Top 100 model contest(s). But at what cost to them and to the member community.

Many models and usually a very special knight/king of the room (for them) will coordinate and "game the system" to show up at 5 minutes before a contest end -- receive a huge amount of tips (roughly 25,000 tokens or more) -- all the while drinking coffee and sitting there essentially not performing for anyone but their king. Then, they stay on for another 5 minutes into the next contest, get tipped roughly the same.... and leave for the day or for many hours. This scenario may also "be gamed" while in an Exclusive Private for these bare minimum of times.

In this example, in the span of 10 minutes the model has likely "earned" 1500 to 2000 StripPoints and only had ONE unique paying user.

SO -- how accurately does StripPoints reflect top performance for Stripchat in this method. Stripchat makes bank, the model makes bank, the "whale" is the bank and we all just say, Oh well that's how it works. BUT DOES IT HAVE TO WORK THIS WAY???

ASK -- Develop a more equitable algorithm that takes into account sustained performance AND/OR increases the algorithm's allocation for "unique paying users". When this is done once or twice in a month, I honestly don't have too much of an issue with it.... but if one or more models are ONLY tipped by ONE major whale tipper via Exclusive Private sessions lasting several hours -- then it doesn't seem like the Top 100 listing is only reflective of the Top 100 income earners to Stripchat (your percentage)

OTHERWISE, you might as well replace the Model's Top 100 listing with a Member's Top Tippers 100 listing.

I am all for efficiency and effectiveness at work including models, but this contest seems to fall short of its goal. Please consider either (a) changing the algorithm, or (b) developing multiple contest lists (e.g, a "Most Popular" models list which would use "unique paying users" as the primary portion of any algorithm and tokens received being a far less part of the calculation. NOTICE that I did not say only -- as this new contest would/could easily be gamed

In fact (aka, a thought) --- if you took your current algorithm and created a 2nd one (but flipped the two measures) -- THEN combined the two measures into an average -- you may have an overall better evaluation of "Top models".

Why are you so invested into what us models do or don't do for contests that are only and ONLY beneficial to us? Why does anything bother you? I'm all for improvements/suggestions but none of yours so far made any sense at all, sorry to say....

You know there's other things to do besides obsessing over what cam models do, right? Going for a walk outside is nice too. Take it away, Brady Bunch Kids!

I hope you put as much effort into fighting the anti porn lobby, and helping sex worker rights organizations. Someone with this much energy and wishes to help models get a fair chance in a contest cannot help but see the issues we face on a broader scale and I am sure you will help us with those too right? You're very good at writing out letters with demands for fairer treatement, make sure you send similar ones to your law makers!

i can respect that -- in particular my view on item #2. Regarding item #1 -- this is more of an ask to correct a mis-statement posted on the website.

As someone who gets on the list several times a week-
sloth no GIF

Most models make a majority of their money from several whales that come and go. Top models are simply those who got the most tokens during that 3hr window. Doesn't matter if the model got them from a few tippers or a bunch of tippers as long as the tokens are legit.

The thing is, how can you say it's cheating or manipulation of the system when the model gets more points for the unique tippers?
What I mean really is, how many points does a regular get vs a new/unique user? Is there much of a difference? If there isn't a big difference then yes sure, it can be classed as taking advantage, but then if it's all legit tokens/money then I don't really see the problem for it to be honest. You will either have the whale or not, so it will most likely still be the same people in the top because they are the most popular.

Another thing is, is "unique" based on ACCOUNT or on IP, Bank Account/Payment, or what exactly? Obviously, if it's based only on IP, and the model + whales are using this and using a VPN the get around it to get more points, then yes I would say this is definitely cheating and not fair. But I am assuming it's based on the account - although yes, I guess the whales could create 100000000 new accounts, 1 each new day but I have a feeling that would get noticed.

I don't work SC nor do I understand their platform. But top earning contests are something majority of sites have in some way or another.

Im in the opinion that contests aren't essential to camming. They are a nice bonus and incentive for models. Maybe essential to a few lucky models, but there are plenty of other models who don't. From my experience, contests always burnt me out anytime i actually tried to place high. It's easier for me to just get online and do my thing without worrying about whether im gonna place. Other models, I know it gives them the boost needed to make their goals or they happen to thrive in competing. Everyone is different.

With any type of contest, there will always be winners and losers. Losing isn't the end of the world. Just because a model loses out on placing in a contest, doesn't mean there is something nefarious preventing them to do so.

Yup. Also, if you're making it to the top spots in the 3 hr contest, the most you can make in it is $20 if you get the top spot. Let me tell you, if you hit the top spot, $20 is maaaaaybe 1% of what you earned in that time slot. It's nice but not as strong of a pull as other sites contests like miss MFC monthly ones.

thats it? that's really nothing to gripe over. its barely considered a bonus. it's the equivalent to my old sales job handing out cafeteria vouchers for the top ten sellers of the week. it's a nice gesture, but not essential.

each 3 hour contest is worth only $20 for 1st place, but the overall monthly contest that these 3 hourly contests feed into is worth $1000 for 1st place I think

Still, the models that place high in them are already making a bank. I'm not saying $1000 isn't a substantial bonus even for them, but I always found it weird to give even more money as a reward for making a lot of money? Why not find a way to include lower placing models for whom even that $20 would make a difference? Well, I do know why, because that's what the sites decided would be the most profitable for them. It just doesn't sit right with me. However, I don't see a point in focusing on it and I just do what @AudriTwo said - just get online and do my thing.

But members obsessing about it and deciding what would be the way to make the contests "fair" (which seems to really translate what would let their favourite model place well in them)? That doesn't sit right with me even more. Go out. Touch grass. Or stay in, tip your favourite model within your budget and simply enjoy the show without obsessing about their placement.

It seems wise. From the outside, it seems to me that for the "average" model to pursue one of the top 3 positions in the monthly competition would require a LOT of work and possible mental anguish.

The OP does seem a touch "over-involved" ;)

I wish they would get rid of this rank system in general given that all it does is create a competitive environment when we are supposed to be a community.

My suggestion to Stripchat was to split up the top 100 into age categories. I'm 40, and in the "milf" category, and while I can make a decent living doing my craft, a girl who is in the teen category or young category can run circles around me in tips; even at my peak and making really good money on my old account (had to take a break from it), the highest rank I ever got was #666 (I know, funny number!) . I ain't mad the young monopolize the tips, I understand that's life, but often the teen and young hog up all the top 100 spots and milf, mature, and gilf get lost in the dust.

Abolish the top 100 entirely it is a train wreck destroying models and users mentally and not getting outside enough that does not mean the show follows! It’s a financial issue for users due to how many tokens can be bought in one 24-hour period there needs to be a cap put on it

Actually it would be pretty cool if you could run rankings for any category SC uses. That way if somebody likes a certain body type or action (or whatever) they could see who the top models are in that area.

Good idea

It's a good idea to split it up in all kinds of categories, but I fear making contests in every category would make it too complicated and watered down.

And not to put too fine of point to it, but categories ARE already unofficially ranked, the higher your strip score is, the higher placement you get in the category. And TBH I think that in itself is fair; as when I used to cam under the "Mistress" fetish category, the better I did, the higher up I got. It's just the top 100 in the whole that needs some tweaking for better fairness.
